Can you tell me exactly where the hotel is. We have just booked for here for next july. We have been to tsillivi before so we are familiar with parts of the resort but we can't think where this hotel is. We are all so excited. Thanks Emma

Hi, can anyone please tell me how steep/long is the hill up to the Mavrikos its just that my wife has slight walking difficulties, we always  stay at the Mavrias down the side of the bakery just thought we may have a change next time we come to Tsilvi.  Thanks for help.

This hotel is very child friendly and the staff were great. My husband made friends with the bar man and they are still intouch now. we are hopefully going back. not this year as we will have a new baby but in 2014 we will definatly be back. The pool was great and even better if you have very small children as they had a small kiddies pool. The resort is just right too, not too noisy, but very family orientated.

The Mavrikos is a fantastic hotel and a really great place to stay. There's a really nice pool area, with plenty of sunbeds around. There are also lots of umbrellas situated around the pool, for those who prefer to relax in the shade.

The bar area is spacious and both food and drink are very reasonably priced. However, where The Mavrikos really excels is the service. All of the staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Jean, in particular, is a delight to talk to.

There is evening entertainment on certain nights of the week also, which was great fun. My favourite act was a band called the Copycat Dolls, who do an Abba tribute set, as well as a party set with a variety of songs. They perform at The Mavrikos every Saturday night and they provide great entertainment for all the family.

I had a great time in Zante and I can't recommend The Mavrikos highly enough!

Stayed here end of May 2012.

Really lovely place, out of the way from the rest of the town but within 2 minutes walk of restaurants, supermarket and bars.

I'm not one for staying in my hotel all day. Many of the Brits using this place seem to like to sit on the same sun lounger day in day out, which is a bit sad.
This didn't matter to us however, we always got time for a dip in the pool everyday without any problems and always got a good pint from the bar.

The reception staff were lovely. We checked out really early on the last day to do a trip. Our bus wasn't due til late afternoon, no problem, they let us shower, offered us clean towels, and looked after our luggage all day at no extra cost.

The rooms were cleaned every day and we had fresh towels every day.

Thanks to Jean, the lovely lady from Bridgend who works there x

Hi All - sounds like this is a fntastic place to go - am really looking forward to our weeks hols on 17th May. Anyone suggest any good hotel transfer people & know how much they cost. We have been quoted £20 each return for a coach with Cosmos, but don't really want to sit on there for ages, while everyone else is dropped off. Are the taxi's easy to get & a reasonable price?
Thanks in advance of any suggestions.

Stayed here for a week with my wife and 13 year old son.

The room we were give was small, a 2 birth room with an extra bed sqeezed in, for a self catering appartment the only place to eat was on the balconey, again only really room for 2.
We had room 101 which was immeadiatly behind the reception, we were a bit worried it might be noisy. Needn't have worried the only noise were heard was the phone ringing in reception when we had a long lie in. The balcony had two sliding doors one glass and one a black out screen. We paid 35 euros for the Air Con and 15 euros for the safe. The air con was well worth it as temps hit 40+ degrees in the shade. The room was clean, as was the bathroom cooking facilities included, a 2 hob cooker, a microwave, a toaster and a sanwhich toaster. Maid service was every day, with fresh towels.
Reception and Bar staff were very friendly, the pool area was of sufficient size for the size of hotel, and is clean and well maintained. There are plenty of sun beds and seating around the pool and pool bar. Bar prices, both drinks and snacks are a little higher than you get down in the town, but quality is good, and spirits are served in large measures.
Overall a very nice hotel, a great base for a holiday in great resort, would recommend

Paul, to find Mavrikos from Popeyes.Walk away from Popeyes, with Popeyes behind you keep walking up the road, past Majestic on the left then past the family resturant on the right, follow the road round to the right, past the Bakery and Calypso resturant on the left and Paridise Bar on the right. Ahead of you is a Car/Bike/Quad hire place, go up the road to the right of this and there you will find the Mavrikos. If you amble slowly it will still take you less than 10 minutes from Popeyes.

Paul E (27 August 2011)

hello there, thinking of stopping here next year, but was just wondering if someone could explain to me where the hotel is,in respect of popeyes? as you come out of popeyes,do you go up the road opposite or do you bear left? any help on this would be very much appreciated

Have stayed at Mavrikos 3 times in recent years and were going back for a fourth visit next month.  Have always found the hotel to be clean and the staff very friendly. The hotel is about 5-6 minutes walk from Popeye's restaurant which is pretty central so gives you an idea of hotels location.

I stayed in Mavrikos Apartments with my wife during end of June.

It's a very nice place to stay as being a Family run hotel everything has a personal touch and warmth.

The hotel is very hygienic and other facilities like Bar, Sun-bed etc are all good..

The place is very close to the town centre, and all facilities, restaurants, pubs are nearby. The tsilvi beach is just 8-10 mins walk from Mavrikos. Would definitely visit them again and recommend it to all visitors to Tsilivi, Zante.

Regards,
Sandeep.

Just returned from Mavrikos for the second time! Yet another fantastic holiday!!! Never usually return to the same hotel but this place is special. Yes there are many returning guests which speaks for itself, but when we went for the first time with our teenage children, we didn't feel excluded by the returning guests as suggested by other reviewers, but instead were made to feel very welcome and made friends very quickly! We have returned again and have made a new set of friends and are already planning the next trip! The hotel is advertised as lively friendly family hotel - which is exactly what it is! All of the hotel management and staff are very friendly and helpful and we now consider them friends. The hotel is spotlessly clean and safe for children. The location is excellent being close to the main street but far enough away to avoid the noise at night. It's fun for all the family here and we needn't have worried about there being enough to keep our teenagers occupied, as they also had a wonderful time!  The pool bar really is a hub of activity, and Aunty Jean who works there is a really special lady and now a dear friend.  She is fantastic with the kids of all ages and is always playing tricks and making everyone laugh!  WE LOVE YOU JEAN!  The food and the pool bar is excellent too - thank you Eva!  You have to go if only to try one of Jean's special milkshakes - with extra TLC! They will be seeing us all again next year!xxx

Nice hotel clean and friendly BUT dictated to by the pool side bar. Sky TV and poolside speakers going all day long (switched on at 08:30am) and sometimes very load, could not sit around the pool and relax or read!  If you have a front room (as we did) then no chance to lie in or have a relaxing holiday... in my view this spoilt a very nice hotel.
