Jessica

We ate here twice! On our last night we ate here with friends and it was lovely! The meal was delicious and it was soo reasonable! I liked the shot too .. It's poison we were told ! Nice waiters and stuff  !!

Leigh R

We stayed for 2 weeks at the Dias. What a great time my wife (Mary), daughter (Amy-Leigh) and I had.

Thank-you Labros (and all staff) for making these two weeks so special. In fact it was so special that we have booked two more weeks at the beginning of August next year.

I really hope that we meet some of the people we met this time around, on our next stay.

I hope to post some of our pics soon on here.

Thank you

Leigh Ridlington.

The Dias is one of the nicest places we have eaten..and stayed!! Not staying there this time..only coz we decided to have a change of resort..but are coming back for a meal all the way from Alikes Labros and co...are some of the nicest most generous people I know..and try really hard to do a good job!!  Sorry your meal wasn't you were expecting..but John is right..food in Greece is served mostly luke warm..and they always take a while to bring it..as they are cooking things to order..mostly!!
Glad you found restaurants more to your taste..and Im really looking forwards to my meal there on the 22nd!!! Labros..if you read this..See you soon

Well what can i say to the last comment? We have been going to the Dias now for 9 years in groups of  up to 15 at a time and we have never had a bad meal !!  Just look at the other comments on the Dias,we all know that Greek dishes dont come to your table piping hot and we know how hard they try to please everyone, but if you have a issue with any meal at any taverna take it up with the management, the Greeks are very hard working people, who have to make their money in one holiday season to last them for a year.

I know that this web-site is for information and reports both good and bad and that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but spare a thought for the people before slating a place.

p.s If you like fast-food you can go down to the strip in Laganas there are plenty to choose from.

Christine R

This was the worst meal we had during our two week stay. The food was tasted ok and I must admit that my starter of stuffed tomatoes was excellent, but what is unforgivable is the cold food and lukewarm vegetables that my partner received for his mains. When it was returned to our table after being sent back, it was still only warm at best. Compared to some of the other excellent meals we ate in Kalamaki and beyond, this place was a bit of a disappointment.

John M

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT MEALS WE HAVE HAD HERE AT THE DIAS, THE SERVICE AND PRICE AND QUALITY OF FOOD ARE TOP-CLASS, NOT FORGETING THE WINE TOO!!

WELL DONE DIAS AND OUR REGARDS TO ALL !!!

Dave D

Dias is an excellent restaurant.  Everything about it is good - food, service and price.  We have been going there for a few years, and each year it gets better.  We had a look around the Dias apartments too.  They looked very good, and well worth checking out for anyone wanting to stay in Kalamaki.

Kirsty

just been reading all the other guys comments and i hate to tell u but ye i loved this place too! the food is amazing and i wuda liked to have eaten here more but wen ur on hols wi the parents its kinda of  a family decision! u beta make room for dessert tho cuz there to die for! i had the fresh fruit watermelon and thought jus a little sumet to finish my meal didnt realise that u actually got half a watermelon! it was huge but i loved eating every bit of it! also wana say hi to the gorgous waiter who kept seeing around town and in fire club (u shud visit there too)! mwah! thers ur kiss that u wanted! drank too much ouzo so im sorry i forgotten ur name! but u know that im talking bou u! definatly c*ming back with the girlfriends next year or even before the end of this season, can ne one tell me when this season actualy ends? thanx

Christine A

would definantly eat here again if i return to kalamaki, lovely setting, good service and great food, the chicken dias was gorgeous my friend had steak a la creme and said it was the nicest meal she had in the fortnight, take a left off the strip down the airport road you can't miss it, always busy which is a good sign, obviously many return visitors too, no better recommendation than that.

Stayed at the Dias apartments, beautifuly cleaned and kept. A delight to meet Lambros and his parents and all the staff. A holiday made special just by the people who make you feel welcome, and show a genuine friendship toward you. We have been to kalamaki many times before, but first time at Dias. We will only go back to Dias. People are welcoming Staff  are brilliant and the standard of cleanliness is second to nowhwere we have been in Greece.

Paul E

THANK YOU LABROS AND STAFF FOR ONCE AGAIN KEEPING UP AND EXCEEDING YOUR HIGH STANDARDS IN THE RESTAURANT AND MAKING OUR STAY THE BEST YET AFTER SEVEN VISITS TO THE ISLAND--- KALI ANTIMOSSI IN 2007.   paul&beth

Carol P

I can't believe we have been going to Kalamaki for so long and have not eaten here until this year.  We had a couple of lovely evenings and once it was so busy there was a short wait until a table became available.  It was worth the wait as the food was excellent.  Will definitely go there again.

Alan B

Still top of the tree for us! Wonderful food, lovely ambience, fantastic staff...looking forward to revisiting in September

Anthony M

I could not agree more, after trying about 10 different restuarants this year Dias was by far the best.  Bit of a shame so many people go to mermaids night after night.

Justin S

THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE ISLAND - Excellent food, excellent service and fantastic choice.

Once you've eaten at the Dias, you'll never want to eat anywhere else!

David P

Fantastic food again at very good prices!!

Staff and service second to none, chefs do a brill job (Thanks Yiannis and the other guy, can't remember his name!!).

Laura

Fantastic Food and atmostphere! We stayed at Caretta Beach so this was one of our closest haunts but the food had us going back a few times in our two weeks! Lovely place, never a rush to move you out no matter how busy they were, good drinks and the prices were on a par with everywhere else but a better standard. The staff were brilliant and certainly worth visiting for! We'll be back as soon as I've sorted out our next break!

Claire B

Went to Kalamaki for week beginning 21st May which was our third holiday on Zakynthos. We ate at Dias six out of the seven evenings we were on holiday as it has always been our favourite restaurant. As many others have said, the food and hospitality at Dias are excellent and Labros and his staff are the friendliest people - they can't do enough for you. Definetly go there for your meals if you are staying in Kalamaki - highly recommended!

Alan T

The motto at the Dias is WE CARE MORE and this is certainly very apt.The service is excellent, the staff are first class and the food is exceptional. The spaghetti carbonara(according to my wife)is the best ever and the rest of the menu is not far behind. The strawberry crepes with ice cream, cooked in grand marnier and finished with caramelised sugar are something else.Best wishes to labros, nikos, leonardo, yiannis and all the staff. Have a great season, you deserve it.Hope to see you soon.Alan and Linda.

Muriel W

Still one of our favourites, food excellent, service very good, friendly ataff. Hope to see you all soon.

    YIANNIS MAC FADDEN.

Melanie R

We came last June to get married, we got married in Laganas Town Hall on thursday 9th June 2005.

Stayed in the Dias apartments, which are excellent!
The Dias did our wedding reception, we had tables all round the pool area.
The food was fantastic! I can't tell you what we ate now as i was so happy and excited, but i can tell you the food at the Dias is the best and that is why we chose it for our wedding.
Thanks to everyone involed in making our wedding the best day of our lives.

My husband Andy loves the garlic mushrooms and has them everynight in the Dias.
I was glad they were not on the menu on the wedding night!

David P

Fantastic restaurant and fantastic people who own it too..

Food is excellent and very good value for money!!!!!

Take a trip to this place if you are visiting on holiday!!

See you all soon.

Jenny L

This year was our second visit to Kalamaki and after trying different places last year we knew where the best place is to eat so we ate at Dias everyday on this year's holiday.  All the staff are brilliant and made our 5 year old feel really special.  The food is excellent and the specials are really special. One night our son wanted a mixture of everything on the children's menu - We were stopped in our attempts to get him to choose one thing, he was served with a small portion of everything (cost 2euro) and was given a complimentary ice cream as a dessert and a hug from the waitress.  A great place.

Martin P

Adjoining the Dias Apartments, just off the main road.  We ate here 3 or 4 times out of 7.  Food and service were found to be excellent, specials were indeed special.  Takis and his team will go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your visit, once you have eaten there it's hard not to return.  Two or three course meal with wine or beer will set you back about 12 to 15 euros a head, brilliant value.  Highly recommended.

Sue W

Hi There Guys.  We had a fab holiday staying at the Carreta Beach Hotel.  We ate 10 out of 14 nights at Dias.  We were there last year and enjoyed it so much we had to come back.  The food is great, not chips all the time!  Wine is very good, Raki is extremely good, and the Cinnamon Brandy is highly recommended with the coffee.  (so Labros told us on many occasions).  Please see photo's.  Hope everyone is well as we are.  Weather is obviously much better in Zante than here in England  very much colder.

Thanks again for making such a great holiday to all you guys at Dias.  Yammas to you all. We bought a bottle of the brandy home with us.

Hope to see you again if not next year the year after.

The Waldock Family (Spagettia Four Cheese, and Pork without Sauce may be a clue to who we are!!

Justin S

The best resturant on the isand without a doubt. The food is wonderful, the staff / family are lovely and friendly and the overall service brilliant. The garlic, mushroom and white wine sauce is awesome no matter what you have it on! Eat at the Dias once and you'll never want to go anywhere else. The home made wine is superb too. I'd stay at the Dias studios if you can, that way you can enjoy the food and wine even more as you won't have to stagger far to get to your room!

This restauant is a MUST excellent food and service Takis, Labros and all the staff cannot do enough for you, its got to rank as one of the very best in Zante never mind Kalamaki where it leaves all others well down the pecking order- Prices are no dearer than anywhere else and infact in some instances a bit cheaper but the quality and quantity is just out of this world cant wait to return

A big Hi to all at Dias!

We stayed for two weeks on this amazing island at Caretta Beach Hotel which was literally a turtle's throw away from the best restaurant around! We ate at Dias more times than all the other places on the island put together! Feeling a bit hungover or under the weather in the morning? Then head striaght to Dias for the best breakfast on the Island and a chat with some of the soundest guys around! We recommend the full english...with no tomato of course!! Frappes aren't bad either!!

We also ate most nights at Dias. It isn't hard to keep coming back to the same place when your constantly being so warm heartedly greeted at this amazing restaurant! I reckon the six of us easily got through the entire menu 20times over!!Lets just say cows are now an endangered species in Kalamaki thanks to all the steak we ate!!Steak lovers forget about the grill house or anywhere else that "claims" to have good steak because Dias has the nicest steak on the entire island! The food was so filling and nice that not once could I finish a three course meal! Anybody who can eat a Spainish omelette for starters ( I reckon there was at least four eggs in there!) followed by a huge steak soaked in any one of the tasty sauces and topped off with a dynamite dessert ( literally dynamite - wait until you see that sparkler coming towards you!) deserves a massive round of applause! Hopefully you'll get to try the fourth course aswell - a simple drink called Raki!

What is Raki? Eat here long enough and you'll find out! Let's just say we're Irish and it blew our minds!!Thanks again for everything lads and I hope you do remember us - we're the six Irish you took such good care of. If not don't worry I'm sending you a photo taken the night of the Ireland/France game when you were dressed in our Irish hats and scarves! You can stick it up on your bill board beside the toilets!!!
See you all next year - enjoy yourselves when the season ends because you guys work so damn hard!!

Cheers!!!!

My Girlfriend and I Stayed in Kalamaki for two weeks. We ate out every night and Dias was without question the best restaurant we visited. I went for the Greek Platter which had a huge variety of traditional Greek food, absolutely mouthwatering. We Couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thanks to the staff for such an enjoyable experience.

Jo E

Just back from our third holiday in Kalamaki and wish we'd found this restaurant before.  Fantastic place.

Tony t

gina, the dias restaurant is behind the crunella hotel (which is on the main kalamaki rd) its about 50 yards up on the right, you can actually see it from the drunk corner bar, hope you find it, its a great place to eat.

Gina D

Can anyone tell us where to find Dias Restaurant?  We have visited Kalamaki on a few occasions, but never seem to have found it!

John M

One of the best restaurants we have ever visited. As close as you'll get to authentic Greek cooking in a busy  holiday resort. Staff very friendly (and not just because you're spending money.Turns out that Takes, one of the waiters, lived for three years within 5 miles of our house. He knew all the haunts that we know! Small world) Can't recommend this place strongly enough. Anybody who criticises it was either in a different restaurant, or a different planet.

Claire C

It was amazing. The people were friendly. I want to go back and stay there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dias rocks!!!
My mum fancied that waiters.

This is one of the best restaurants in kalamaki.  The owners are friendly and always nice. They have one of the best chicken souflakis i have ever tasted and the chicken dias is a must! me and my mum and dad have been comming to this resturant for nine years and it is still the best! also the chicken grilled is a must! my dad and his best mate tolis love the house wine that much they have to stagger all the way home!   labros and sakis were well funny when they tried to push my dad in the pool.

seya all next year from kirsty macfadden ( aged 14)

Anne C

we stayed at the dias the last 2 weeks in june in room 101 we arrived as a trio but was most often seen as a duo as my son had girls to chase which just left my daughter and i, food was out of this world thanks to labros, joanna, sakis, nikos and not forgetting takis for our morning frappes and for throwing kimberley in the pool with her clothes on on more than one occasion try five of them.takis you better be ready kimberley wants her revenge we enjoyed our stay that much that we didnt want to come home.we will be back again next june.miss you all and cant wait to get back.thanks again to everyone. p.s big kiss for patsi.x

Tollis t

along with tesero, i rate this the best restaurant in kalamaki, great menu, which makes it so hard to choose your meal (spoilt for choice). sometimes i just have the "tonights special" and have never been disapointed.

the staff are superb, its makes your night to walk in there after a year to be instantly recognised and your name remembered, even the kids. if your want to kick start your night, try the house wine, you,ll be giggling and talking "zante talk" within minutes. (its our term for gobbly gook).

the starters are like a meal on there own and what a choice, the spinach and cheese pies are simply mouth watering.

ps yannis that was not a swimming pool that labros tried to get you in it was a big cooking pot, the mozzi,s told him you taste good, so he hit on the idea of "yanni kelftiko".

if you only try one restaurant this year, make it dias. yamass, and ask for a pipa

Yiannis M

WHAT CAN I SAY? LOOK AT THE OTHER COMMENTS BELOW,GREAT FOOD,WINE AND STAFF,YOU WILL NOT BE DISSOPOINTED---------------OH YES LABROS AND SAKIS,BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR IN TRYING TO THROW ME IN YOUR SWIMMING POOL

Ken B

MY wife and I popped in here for lunch on our last day on the island, although we had walked past it most days, we left it until the end. I wished we had gone in sooner, we loved it. The service was flawless and the quality of our lunch was very good. The restaurant airconditioning was going full pelt, which is great when you want to have a relaxing lunch away from the mid day sun. Lunch time when we went was relatively quiet, so it was ideal for that little something special, just the missus and me. Fantastic.

James E

the food was really good there, was lots of choice on the menu.I never had a bad meal there the staff were all very friendly towards us, even if they were really busy they would find time to speak to us. i would recommend it to anyone. it was so good i plan to go back in september. see you then labros and the rest of you. the accomodation was also excelent.

Leigh

Went to Dias twice whilst staying in kalamaki, well three times if yu include breckfast, all three times we were made to feel special, on one of the times we visited it was mi birthday which was really nice. the food was excellant everytime, mi parents stayed in the dias studios which were very nice compared to other accommodations i have seen. yu shud defo go to dias if yur in kalamaki.

Lucy S

You can't understand how great it us until you've visited it, definitly the dining hotspot of the island!

Alan B

7/10 ....... no not the score for this restaurant, the number of times we visited it last year!  10/10 probably for this year ! Can't wait til september, did not have a bad meal here, great ambience, excellent service, superb food, what more could you ask for? grilled king prawns, lamb kleftiko, excellent steaks... and what a plate of lamb chops!!! look forward to seeing you all in seven weeks.

Definately be going back next year to make sure they dont forget us!

Would totally reccomend it.

Audrey B

This was my 5th year in Kalamaki. Every year we always spend most of our evenings in Dias restaurant. this year was no exception. Food as usual was excellent.Service as usual was excellent.Thankyou Labros, Joanna Argerris and Sakis. Laura Tiegan and Mikaliki all send there love. Can't wait for next year.We are always made to feel part of the family. Favourite place in kalamaki.

Tom M

We visited Zante last August, and we ate at the Dias Restuarant twice.

The 1st night was absolutely top notch, the food was exceptional, as was the service, particularly for my dad, hes a veggie and they had a meat special on, (Think it was a Meze type thing), and they said no problem, and brought out a massive plate full of all sorts of stuff for him, in place of the meat - superb.

Second night, food was the same quality, but we had a hell of a long wait for everything, they said this was due to a staff member which I can fully sympathise with, and the restaurant was extremely busy, so we could except it.

Going back to Zante in August - staying at the Roseland Hotel - cant wait!!

Kevin H

we had three meals here and the food was fabulous set in a very pleasent setting and the waiters couldnt do enough for you cant wait to go again

John W

Once again had a great experience at Dias, not only the wonderful food and wine, but stayed at the apartments.  If you like fish dishes ask for a 'special' fish dish, they will make up a superb selection - salmon, king prawns, sea bream etc....   Always a pleasure to meet up with Labros and his team.  Mind you - he conned me into singing a karioke! first (and last) time ever.  I owe you Labros!  See you next year.  From John & Lesley Wilkinson - Sheffield - UK.  Stayed 3rd week in June

Sarah W

Our experience of this restaurant was one of disapointment - we were recommended this one by other holidaymakers. We went along with friends we had met up with on our hols, we both had the one child. Once we had found it (off the main road, quite far down, nearer to Lagana end) None of us had had a bad meal yet, so our expectations were high! The meal was ordered and came reasonably quickly, but whilst having our meal you could tell the clientel were of an older generation and us having children didn't seem to go down too well! We felt we had to rush our meal and we actually felt like we had to take our children outside before the bill came (one of the most expensive meals we had!).

So i advise, don't take children and take a large wallet!

What a fantastic place! The food is absolutly superb, The breakfast is wonderful and the dinner is out of this world. All staff are extremly helpful and funny.

You cannot fault the food, service or price. 10/10 & Recommened to everybody.

There is alot to choose from, you are spolit for choice.

If you love seafood try the seafood pasta! It is wonderful.

Great food, great price & great service.

We stayed at the Dias apartments which backs on to the Restaurant from 5th june till 19th june 05.

Valerie S

Delicious - highly recommended.

Takis is the morning waiter, we went to a couple of places in Kalamaki to eat out but ended up back here, we found them definitely best for quality and price and the most fantastic waiters.  We stayed at the Dias Apartments also which again come highly recommended.

Lynne J

A very good restuarant, well worth visiting, lovely traditional Greek food, and very good service.

Siobhan P

We came here for breakfast 3 times, it was that lovely. The morning waiter was so friendly and helpful - there were certain things we didnt like in the breakfast so he omitted them and gave us extra other tasty things.   Nice relaxed environment too. Loved the cooked English breakfast. Didnt have time to come here for an evening meal unfortunately.

Ken. T

Fantastic restaurant! Great atmosphere, Great setting, fabulous food & service

Brian M

Fantastic. We ate here twice and the food, service and whole experience was great. It has a really nice ambience and the menu is extensive with lots to choose from, so recommend a visit here.

Becky C

Food here is excellent, service is excellent, lovely people, everything is just excellent. This year will be our 4th yr back and we spend most of our evenings in this restaurant because the meals are so nice.

Hi to Labros and staff. See you in september.

Becky and David

Moira R

We have been to Dias 4 consecutive years. Labros and his team are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. We will be coming back in September and would expect that at least 10 nights out of 14 will be spent having one of the excellent meals that this restaurant makes.

My husband adores the specials but I must admit I do love the fillet steak, this is cooked to perfection with no fat. The portions are huge and find it very difficult to find room for the sweet!

Look forward to seeing Labros and the team in September! x

Norman L

we went most nights, and found it most most enjoyable, and will be returning next year for definite.

well what can i say...the food and service here was fab no complaints at all, good prices also good house wine

Norma B

Had a lovely meal here. Lamb Kleftico Flambe.

Paul T

Top notch, probably 2 of the best meals I had on the holiday, just a hop and a skip from the apartment too - bonus.

Had breakfast there one day also, I will use the waiters terms to describe it, it was "massive" all for less than 5 euros too.

Svanhild K

This is a high-class restaurant. The food is excellent, the staff very professional and service-minded. The two small children in our party were treated kindly.

Heather

We thought this Restaurant was EXCELLENT, unfortunately after trying several we only found this place two days prior to flying home.
The food was excellent & also was the service, they bent over backwards to make you feel welcome. I totally recommend this restaurant.

Stella P

We loved this place! We were only in Kalamaki for 1 week and after trying some of the recommended places, we chose to go to our favourite place for our last night- Dias. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. Try the Prawns Zakynthos!!

Yiannis M

WE CANT UNDERSTAND HOW JESSICA HAD A BAD MEAL AT DIAS,JUST LOOK AT THE OTHER REPORTS,MAYBE IT WAS A VERY BUSY NIGHT OR TRAINING A NEW MEMBER OF STAFF,WE HAVE BEEN COMMING HERE FOR EIGHT YEARS NOW AND NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL,YES WE HAVE HAD TO WAIT,BUT COME ON,ITS NOT A FAST FOOD PLACE AND YOU ARE IN GREECE,WHERE PEOPLE ARE MORE CHILLED OUT THAN US STRESSED OUT BRITS,WHEN YOU SEE HOW BUSY THE TAVERNA GETS,AND EVERYONE IS TRYING OUT DIFFERENT DISHES,YOU EXPECT TO WAIT FOR YOURS,WE HAVE HAD LOADS OF GREAT TIMES IN THE DIAS,JUST THE THREE OF US AND WITH PARTIES OF UP TO FOURTEEN PEOPLE,WE CANT WAIT TO MEET UP AGAIN NEXT JULY TO THIS GREAT TAVERNA.P.S IT SHOWS YOU WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE THEY ARE AT THE DIAS,WHEN THEY GIVE YOU A FREE BOTTLE OF WINE WHEN YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED,TRY GETTING THAT IN THE U.K. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE VERY HARD WORKING STAFF AT THE DIAS,OH YES AND YOU LABROS !!!! YAMMASS!!!! FELY.

Alen Z

me and my girlfriend where there ni august and i can tell you there are no nicer people in the world than at the dias hotell and restrant. we where living in their hotell and eating at their place for 2 weeks and we fell so in love with the place that we decided that we are going back next year. with lots of love to people at dias : alen and dijana., labros, our friend, keep up the great work

Glenys H

Another excellent place to eat. Staff friendly. We remembered the head waiter from previous years. Food delicious, setting lovely and service great. Recommend this to anyone visiting Kalamaki. One of four great places to eat.

Jessica C

Well, after reading so many good reviews on this restaurant it was at the top of our list to visit whilst on holiday. I can assure you it soon went to the bottom of our list!!. After 45 minutes from ordering we were 2 very hungry people and asked the waiter if our starters were on the way, he said he would find out but we never saw him again!. 10 minutes later another waiter arrived and apologised for the delay but had our main meals..still no starters!. We told him we hadnt even had our starters and were appalled by the fact that we had already chased one waiter 10 minutes previous, so off he went to find out what was going on. They did bring our starters 5 minutes after which I would give 8/10. I had spicy meatballs and my partner had local spicy sausage but the let down was the main meal. The meals were quite clearly the same main meals they had brought 20 minutes previous, and must have put them in the microwave to over cook them even more than they already had. My Lamb chops in Garlic sauce were as tough as you could possibly imagine and the garlic sauce was like jelly, my partners steak however was tasty but by the time it hd been reheated it was a very well done steak rather than the medium steak which he had originally ordered. The only consolation for this terrible visit to Dias was that we were given a free bottle of wine. Shame we had such a bad time here because it sound like everyone else has had great meals!.

Karen & Gareth

Hi to all at Dias !We went to Dias on our first visit 8 years ago and have since then always had wonderful service and fantastic food . We highly recommend this restaurant and would say to anybody visiting Kalamaki 'Go to Dias'. We send our love to Labros and Lisa and all the staff. See you next year ! Yammas !

Paul S

During our stay we tried most of the 10/10 rated restaurants. Dias was very good and well worth a visit, though not the best in Kalamaki. We rated it 8/10.

Sharon M

Just returned from 2 weeks holiday in kalamake stayed at the caretta beach hotel luckily for us dias was just around the corner visited here 5 times wish it had been more, food excellent, service very friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. Who needs Mermaids when you can have dias much better value for money! I would say its the best restaurant in kalamaki cant wait to return. Sunday lunch excellent, also the specials are well worth a try also desert menu very good try banana split also chocolate cake hope you enjoy!

Cals

[25thjuly-1st aug] Me and my bf loved this restaurant so much so that we ate here three times out of 7days, i was weary of chossing somewhere to eat after a disastrious first eveing meal elsewhere but Dias definately made up for it. food was great (best meze i had all week) and the staff are always on hand and very friendly, each time we went we had the choise of where we sat which was great too. id definately recommend this place and i already have to my parents who are stayin in laganas in sept but ive said Dias is worth the journey

Yiannis M

GREAT FOOD,FRIENDLY STAFF LOOK OUT FOR THE SPECIALS BOARD OUTSIDE FOR EVEN BETTER OFFERS,WE HAVE BEEN COMMING HERE FOR SO LONG NOW,THAT WE ARE TREATED LIKE FAMILY,IF YOU WISH YOU CAN LOOK INTO THE KITCHEN AND WATCH YOUR MEAL BEING PREPARED,IT GETS VERY BUSY,SO WE GO THERE ABOUT 9.30PM, ORDER OUR DRINKS AND TAKE IT EASY,TRY THE SUNDAY LUNCH HERE AND THE HOUSE WINE IS A MUST!!A GREAT PLACE FOR STEAK DISHES TOO,AS WELL AS GREEK FOOD,JUST LOOK AT THE REPORTS ON THIS SITE.
OUR REGARDS TO ALL AT THE DIAS!!!! YAMMAS TO LABROS !!AND SAKIS!

Sheena R

good quality food and excellent service and great price. It was very handy for us as we were staying nearby at the Carretta Beach Hotel

Sandra P

Service was quick and friendly. The food was very good, can't quite remember what we had but we will definately go again! Obviously we chose to sit on the outside as it was a very warm evening, if you do the same be aware of the traffic noise as this is one of the main airport roads, with lorries and coaches passing on a regular basis. Try not to let this put you off as it is well worth a visit.

Matthew B

Ate here twice during our two weeks and left with a high opinion of this restaurant. Service was quick and friendly on both occassions and most importantly, the food was good on both occasions. Does get busy at times and doesn't offer the ambience and quaintness of some other restaurants. But the service and food are both good!!

Trudie B

One of our favourite restaurants in Kalamaki - we were recommended it by Denise in the supermarket at the crossroads, it is where her and her family regularly go when eating out. I always think if the locals like it, it can't be all bad. We find it very good value for money and the Kleftico is second to none (although it takes a while for the flames to go out) - try the house red, not 3 bad at all

Mike T

just got back froma week in kalamaki. We went to dias twice during the week. First time we went as a group of 8 and had a great meal with great service. Having had a lovely night 4 of us decided to go again for another meal on the last night. It was a hole different story that night, food was good (when we got it) but the service had degraded so much. we was greated and given a table, ordered our drinks ok and then ordered our main meal. Afterwards it took them a while to notice we had finished and so we was sat with a table full of plates for a long while, whilst they was cleaning up we asked for a dessert menu which never turned up so we had to get it ourselves. It then took them ages to come take our dessert orders. When we had finished we asked for the bill and that to didnt turn up till we asked a 2nd time 5-10 minutes later. Although they did come to recieve the bill rather quickly once they had given us it.
Great Food, Great Location but the Service can have its off days.

Valerie G

This was one of our favourite restaurants - unfortunately we didn't find it until the last night. Service, food and wine excellent and fairly cheap. Very good value.

Steven G

VERY VERY VERY GOOD MEAL.VERY VERY FRIENDLY.HAD A THREE COURSE MEAL IN THE EVENING AND MADE TO FEEL SPECIAL JUST HOW IT SHOULD BE.THE MEAL WAS FROM THE VAST MENU.VERY CLEAN PLACE.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Zoe L

Hello me and my family have just came back from greece, zakinthos, kalamaki and we loved it! The best part was goin to the dias! To see my luvly nick hehe! and all the rest of the crew!...the food was excellent and we enjoyed our holiday.

Andrew H

Expected more after reading the reviews, there are better restaurants such as Mermaids and Hera.

Frank T

THE BEST MEAL I HAD IN KALAMAKI WAS AT THE DIAS.IT WAS THE MIXED GRILL.LOTS OF DIFFERANT MEAT AND PLENTY OF IT.THE WAITERS ARE HELPFUL AND WERE ALLWAYS QUICKLY AT YOUR TABLE IF YOU WANT ANYTHING.WE WERE TOLD THE PLATTER IS REALY GOOD THERE.THEY HAD THIS ON THE MENU THE NIGHT BEFORE WE WENT IN SO WE MISSED IT.I WILL HAVE TO GET IT WHEN I RETURN TO KALAMAKI IN SEPTEMBER.

Lynsey B

Dias is definately worth a visit, if not a few.
The food is excellant, service is great, and the waitress is hot! so my boys tell me.
It is good value for money, and we will be back in October.

Adwina S

one word "EXCELLENT"

Yiannis M

WE WILL BE IN KALAMAKI ON THE 15TH OF JULY,NO DOUBT WE WILL BE CALLING IN THE DIAS THROUGHOUT OUR HOLIDAYS,WITH COMPANY AND ON OUR OWN,THE SERVICE,STAFF AND THE FOOD! ARE A CREDIT TO THIS BRILLIANT TAVERNA.THE HOUSEWINE IS A MUST HERE,BUT DONT DRINK TOO MUCH,BECAUSE THERE MIGHT NOT BE ANY LEFT FOR US!!!!!LAST YEAR THEY DID A SPECIAL DISH CALLED DRUNKEN MONKEY,IT IS A MEAT DISH COOKED IN WINE ETC,I JUST HOPE THEY HAVE IT ON THE MENU,BUT WHATEVER YOU HAVE HERE,YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!WE CANT WAIT TO VISIT THE DIAS AND HAVE A DRINK WITH LABROS!

Valerie N

I would give this restaurant 15/10 if i could. Staff great, food always excellent, and hot! Stayed in Kalamaki 14 nights and ate here 9 of them. Good sized portions and always plenty of meat, the housw wine is good to.

Sandra M

We stayed in the Dias Studios last August/September and couldn't fault them at all. Obviously they had just been open for a few weeks but they were quite "plush" for Greek studios. Ample room and although there was only two of us, the room did have a third folding bed which would have fitted in the room without it getting cramped. Even had a table and chairs in the kitchenette area which is a novelty for Greece. The pool, although small was lovely. Some days we felt like we had our own personal pool as it was so quiet. The only downside was that they didn't do any snacks, just drinks, crisps and ice creams.

Unfortunately Olympic were unsure they were going to be contracted these studios for the 2004 season as they were looking to go with a Scandinavian firm for more money!! It would seem that perhaps they have done this as it is not in the brochure for 2004. Shame, as these studios were lovely and had a very private and personal feel as there was only 18 studios in total.

As for the Dias Restaurant it was okay. We ate there I think three or four times during our stay and the Kleftico was lovely. I had a chicken dish one night which was okay but nothing to write home about (always think chicken tastes strange in Greece) and the Moussaka was disgusting. It was dry, stodgy and basically had no substance to it. I'm not one to complain so I just said I wasn't hungry when the waiter collected the plate. Avoid at all costs the Moussaka. The staff are very friendly and pleasant though and I would go back for the Kleftico!!

Nicola F

Hi ya!!!

We have got some brilliant photos of you and Lisa Labros! Hope you are all ok, miss hte drunken nights. hopefully come visit next year!

Graham A

Went to several tavernas and food at all was good and reasonably priced but the best by far was the Dias. It has a wide ranging menu but recommend the greek specialities such as the Lamb Kleftico, Beef Zakynthos etc. Waiters very friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Kev H

Ate here twice and chose it for our final evening in Kalamaki. Food excellent, Fillet steak was perfect. Chicken Souvlaki was faultless. Waiters very polite and helpful

Joe A

If anyone wants to get in touch email us on JOEHEP19@aol.com

p.s Labros sorry I missed your call, will be in touch soon.
Limahl, it'll be nice to see you out and about in Croydon!! get in touch!

Joe A

Since we have been back all we have wanted to do is come back to zante and especially Dias studios! Anyone reading this wondering what its going to be like, it's fantastic, the hotel, the restaurant (which we ate at most nights, steaks to die for!!), the pool, the bar and especially the staff!(hello Labros, Sagis and george!)
We had the BEST holiday ever and will definately be back at the start of summer 2004, whether it will be to work or play... hopefully a bit of both!! Very reasonable prices and generous helpings of alcohol and food. Beach nearby, where fresh fruit is readily available.
Not only is the location perfect, but everyone is so relaxed, we met so many lovely people! (Hi Lamahl and family, Gem, Paul, Brian, Ryan, Jan and Elliot! Please keep in touch and hope you are all well!)
A more than a once in a life time holiday!

Sharon E

I will be staying at the Dias apartments in 2 weeks time, could anybody give me a bit more information on them please.

Tony K

best food on the island, and best wine in the world, all the yanni disciples cannot be wrong as we are fully pledged alcoholics, click on the pictures to see, you can allmost taste the wine. the best meals are the greek dishes, ask for a pippa they are very nice, stifado the disciple loves them, 8 years we have been using this place and it just gets better and better, after a few wines go up the mountain and check out the yida.

Emma J

All of the restaurants in Kalamaki were excellent and DIAS was lovely. Although not 1 of the best we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff were typically friendly Greeks. Food served fairly quickly and well presented.

Janice J

We found Dias on our first holiday to Zante and have loved it ever since. We had our third holiday to Kalamaki in June 2003 and ate there most evenings. The service, food and cost are all exceptional.

We have always been made to feel extremely welcome and special. Unfortunately, we tried another Greek Island last year and didn't realise that Dias now had apartments until we arrived at the restaurant in June.

Having been allowed to look around the apartments we decided that we just had to go back later this year. Therefore we will be returning in September (7th i believe)- can't wait.

I have put in a special request for particlar room numbers, I do hope I get it.

Yannis M

LABROS,

just come back from staying at dias studios and i must say, i loved it there. everyone was really kind and helpful. I went with my girlfriend and i don't think it could have been any better. The resaurant was magic. All the waiters were attending to your needs quick and thouroghly. you didn't have to wait long for your food and when it got to you, you'd look at it, and smell, and think. very nice. All the people that work there are always smiling but thats because of the owners. family run restaurant and hotel. I'm going back there next year hopfully!

Labros, if you read this show it to your mother and father and thanks again for a really Excellent holiday. speak soon

Mike

Margaret B

Lovely restaurant a little off the beaten track so a little bit difficult to find so it's worth getting a taxi. Arrive early if you can because it does get busy and the service is pretty laid back. All traditional and pasta dishes are excellent and the wine is great too. I always try swordfish in all the restaurants and the one at Dias was very good and strawberries with icecream, very yummy. The waiters are very polite and smart also. I love the way the beautiful vines are jut draped around the building and you can hear the crickets. Probably a very romantic restaurant but I have only eaten there with my daughters. (yet!) See you all in September.

T T

Sorry, that should be Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!!

T T

My parents have just returned from Dias studios in Kalamaki and have asked me to post a review on their behalf. They couldn't speak highly enough of the accomodation, loaction and staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They often ate in the Dias resturant aswell which they said was fantastic, service was excellent and food unmissable. The staff at the studios were always on hand with useful information for tours an dplaces to see. Cocktails were out of this world, as was the service that was given to them. They have enquired about which tour operator you can book through and it is Olympic (3rd Edition brouchre). These apts have actually opened a year earlier than expected so teletext are where most people are getting booked into Dias!! Everyone who stayed there had gone through teletext.

Sophie L

It wasn't the best place we have been. The service was really slow, it took ages for them to ask us what drinks we wanted then for what food we wanted to order.
The setting would be pretty but we were dumped inside. Though the food was nice but nothing memberable.

Josie F

we've just come back from Kalamaki and we ate at the Dias a fair few times. It is in front of the Dias studio's just a few yard's up the side road from Drunk corner, which is on the main Lagana's road.
The food was good and it is a very pretty restaurant so take your camera for a snapshot. When you get the bill, they give you a nice pink drink Mmmm

Yannis M

JAYNE,
IF YOU NEED ANY INFORMATION ON THE DIAS TAVERNA/STUDIOS, E-MAIL ME AT BURNLEYMACONE@AOL.COM, AS WE HAVE BEEN VISITING KALAMAKI FOR 6 YEARS.

Jayne

Have read the comments about the Dias below and are suitably impressed.

Would I be right in assuming that the Dias Taverna/Restaurant is the Taverna that is next to Dias Studios? My husband and I have just booked up a late deal with Olympic Holidays and are to stay at the Dias Studios and would be grateful if someone could let me know where exactly this accommodation is situated.

Thanks in anticipation of anyone's assistance.

Paul S

I`VE RECENTLY BOOKED THE DIAS STUDIOS THROUGH OLYMPIC HOLIDAYS

Yannis M

We have eaten at Dias on several occasions and always found the food quality and choice to be excellant, but have not offered accomodation until recently.

Clive M

We booked a holiday to Zante at short notice and were offered Dias at a very reasonable price so we took it despite the fact that it was not in the brochure. When we arrived we were most pleasantly surprised to find a lovely new hotel, more spacious than most accommodation we have had in Greece with the bonus of a sea view. We had been to Kalamaki before so went back to some of our favourite restaurants from our previous visit. We don't usually eat at the hotel we are staying at but decided to give it a try on our penultimate night and we were very glad we did - we ate there again on our last night as it was more than the equal of anywhere else in the resort - extensive menu with plenty of vegetarian options - unusual in Greece, friendly efficient service and reasonably priced - as most things in Greece seem to be for us Brits. We will definitely be staying at Dias if (when) we return to Zante.

Barry H

This restaurant is hidden off the main laganas road behind the drunken corner,we found the food there fantastic,my mexican steak was one of the tastiest steaks ive ever had.The service was also fantastic and the waiters could not do enough for you they went out of there way to make sure everything was fine from comfort to your meal and they were also great with the children. This restuarant was recommended to me on numerous occasions from people in my hotel who had dined there and all of them had the same to say ....FANTASTIC!
The interior was very well presented and with your meal came there very own service pack all printed with the restaurant name. The house white and rose were beautiful and also came with Dias pronted on the wine glasses.

Kirsty M

THE LAST COMMENTS UNDER MAC FADDEN BELOW, ARE MINE, KIRSTY,AGED 12.
THE DIAS IS A GREAT TAVERNA,GREAT MEALS AND GREAT STAFF TOO !!!

Martin D

John M

THE FOOD AND PRICE HERE IS EXCELLENT. THE SOUVLAKI HERE IS A MUST FOR THE KIDS LIKE ME! John M

GREAT FOOD,GREAT WINE,NO NEED TO ADVERTISE,THIS TAVERNA IS TOPS!!
WHAT DO YOU WANT? THE PEOPLE HERE WILL DO IT!! A TABLE FOR 1 OR TABLE FOR 21 OR WHATEVER YOUR REQUIREMENTS----------BUT DON'T LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE WE HAVE ONLY BEEN GOING HERE FOR 6 YEARS!!!

Clare R

Dias was the best restaurant we ate at in Kalamaki - but to be honest that isn't a difficult accolade to achieve! We were celebrating and ordered champagne here - which was surprisingly nice - seeing as it cost only £9 (the most expensive bottle on the menu!) - but we had to laugh when we were presented with "babycham" glasses to drink it with!! The meal and service was of a good standard for Kalamaki - if you end up in Kalamaki and want a nice meal this is one of your best bets!

Tony K

im sorry but 10 out of 10 is unfair , it should be 12 out of 10, if you like the old plonk then you have found heaven, with great food too @ great prices, if ever you see me and the crowd im with pull up a chair and have a drink with us, we,ll be back on the 18th of july, i like the the greek dishes and here i never found one i did not like, the food is excellent, just look at john mcfaddons comment for confirmation

Bill M

we tried this place on recommendation (thanks liz & gerry) & were not disappointed.food was delicious and curteous service always.prices were also about normal & a nice setting.

Jezebel G

Dead posh here, you get your own knife fork and napkin individually wrapped! Interesting plantlife draping down fromthe ceiling and quite entertaining to watch waiters getting smacked in the face. But they've built a whole new section since we last went so maybe that's been changed.
