This was our 3rd time in Kalamaki but first time we tried Dias, We ate there 3 times and it was excellent. I am not a big eater but I struggled to eat the steak in Madera sauce which was probabbly the best steak I have ever had. Tender and cooked to perfection. Must be tried.

Ian M

Definetely worth a visit. The restaurant is very picturesque and the food lives up to expectations. I had the beef fillet steak and it was fantastic, cooked to perfection and fantastic. We only went the one night but it falls into the visit again category. (Did I mention that the steak was fantastic? No, well it was fantastic.)

We returned recently from another great holiday in Kalamaki and, once again, enjoyed some excellent meals at Dias Restaurant... especially the deep fried aubergine chips and garlic paste. Thank you Lavros and your family for the welcome at each visit, the beautifully cooked food, and of course the complimentary drinks we enjoyed afterwards. Good luck with the extention and we hope to see you all again next September. To the person who wanted some names to send photos....The manager is Koltoukis Argiris and his son is Lavros.

David C

The names of the staff so we can send some photos over to them?

David C

How can anyone say that this is not the BEST restaurant on Kalamaki!!! We came here for the first time on our honeymoon in september 1999 & came back again this year (2 weeks ago to be precise) & the food is still superb & the service is very very freindly & entertaining! I would well recomend the Chicken pepper as a main course & the Garlis mushrooms are absolutely divine! When you go make sure you ask for a sparkler in your desert no matter what you are having & you will find that the staff will be happy to oblige! Can anybody tell me the names of the staff as we want to send some photos over to them?

Eddie K

Was our firt Taverna of the week - starters were lovely, but beef in the main meal was extremely fatty and not very nice at all. Seemed very popular but turned out to be the most expensive meal of the week - €34 for 2 courses and drinks.

Craige C

We visited the Dias 3 times during our stay and sampled alot of the Greek specialities. The portions were more than enough, the service speedy and the quality excellent. You will return if you enjoy sampling the various Greek dishes and I would definitely recommend the home made wine.

Beryl A

Can anyone please tell us the e-mail address of Dias? Many thanks.

Neil S

David G

Superb place. Excellent food and excellent home-made Rose wine. A must for anybody in Kalamaki, and one that you WILL visit again.

Michael R

Excellant Tarverna - Been going to Kalamaki for several years and only just found Dias. My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Stifardo which you can't get erverywhere. I enjoyed the Sole Special. Very friendly and good quality.

Phil, C

One of the best resturants in Kalamaki. The Hawaian Chicken was excellent and the choice of food was huge as were the portions. Service was good but not rushed and the location was good away from the main road.

Peter M

Visited Dias twice during our stay. The menu is extensive and there is a different special every night. The food and service were very good and the house wine great!Just off the main Kalamaki Road.

Kirsty M

THIS IS A GREAT TAVERNA OFFERING A WIDE SELECTION OF GREAT FOOD AND A GOOD KIDS MENU.MY FAVORITE IS THE CHICKEN SOUVLAKI.OR CHICKEN IN THE BASKET.

John M

THIS IS A FANTASTIC EATING PLACE,I CANT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE HAVE KNOCKTED IT! WE HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR 5 YEARS,TRIED OUT LOTS OF DISHES ON THE MENU, AND NEVER HAD A BAD ONE YET.IT IS SET IN PLEASENT SURROUNDINGS WITH A VERY LARGE CHOICE ON THE MENU, WITH DAILY SPECIALS,WE WENT THERE ON OUR LAST NIGHT OF THE HOLIDAYS,6 ADULTS,1 CHILD,STARTERS AND A MAIN COURSE 4 LITRES OF HOUSEWINE WITH A GOOD TIP THE BILL CAME TO £60, AND IF THAT WAS'NT GOOD ENOUGH WE GOT WINE TO TAKE BACK HOME TO ENGLAND.SO IF PEOPLE DONT LIKE THE DIAS,THEY SHOULD STICK TO BURGERS AND CHIPS!!

Neil S

Lindsay & Ben

I really cannot believe what I have just read on this page having returned from 2 weeks in Kalamaki today. I travelled to Kalamaki with my food phobic boyfriend. On our third night we ate at Dias and after such a lovely meal we ate there the next 12 nights. Between us we tried 20 main meals such as T-bone steak, Lamb Kleftiko, Stuffed Tomatoes, kebabs, Mexican Chicken, Pasta, Pizza, Prawns with bacon, fried squid and Red Snapper and we have not one complaint. Nothing was over seasoned, over or under cooked and the staff were wonderful! We spoke to many other diners all of whom had tried restaurants such as Buon Amici and Panandesia and like ourselves Zakanoh and felt there was no comparison. Yes we did sometimes wait a little while for orders to be taken, or desert menu's to appear but so what, we were on holiday, time to relax and forget about time. The staff were fantastic and made us feel very much at home, in particular Olion and Lamrose, the service was very good on the whole and all staff showed a very good knowledge of all their dishes. The restaurant was always busy and we often recognised faces from previous evenings whch I think proves what a fabulous restaurant Dias is. In terms of price we both ate 3 courses a night and spent between 25e and 55e (although for 55e we got a wonderful huge and I'm talking huge platter prepared for our last night, with prawns, mussels, mousakka, village sausage, meatballs, kebabs, rice, salad, and a whole host of other things, wine, 2 bottles of water, and juice). We eat out a lot in London, in an array of restaurants and I can honestly say I have never had such choice from a single menu. It really is worth a try.

"EXCUSE-A MAY!" Ignore any comments which don't say that Dias was EXCELLENT, FANTASTIC, and SUPERB! HOORAH FOR DIAS, The place that made Kalamaki the place to stay for our 2 week holiday. From Day 3, (when we found it!) to out final night on Zante, Dias was the place to be. The service and atmosphere was friendly and delightful - just wait til you meet OLION, the best waiter you'll ever meet! The food and wine is so priced, and the quality superb! The warm bread roll at the start of the meal, and the free cocktail/drink at the end, the finishing touch. DIAS, THE BEST RESTAURANT IN GREECE, ENGLAND, AND PROBABLY ... THE WORLD!

Phil F

On the recommendation of other holidaymakers, we tried Dias. The bread brought to the table was a good start, crusty and still warm. My wife chose the Chicken in wine sauce, I chose the Chicken Dias. Both the sauces were OK, but the chicken breasts in both cases were very, very salty. This spoilt the meal. The restaurant may be OK, but don't try the chicken.

Lindsey R

Nice atmosphere. Food was good. All cooked fresh - particulary the fish. Friendly staff. Very obliging.

Steven C

the steak is lovely u should really go there its very peaceful and its not to far from the main area of kalamaki. Also u have to try the house wine

Peter T

After holidaying in Kalamaki over the past 10 years, Dias firmly remains one of our favourite truly Greek restaurants. For ambiance, good traditional Greek food at fair prices, coupled with a friendly welcome and service at a pace to enjoy your meal it takes a lot of beating. Our favourite starter(deep fried aubergine with garlic paste)was missing from the menu this year, but it was no trouble for them to make it for us.

Cheryl

Food was good, although they weren't prepared to change the menu for children. Service was poor on the night we went, we were put at a table and forgotten. Took about 15 minutes to get a menu.

Laurie A

Food was good - one of the better eating venues of Kalamaki. Recommended, quite cheap too.

John M

THIS HAS TO BE TRIED OUT IF YOU HAVE'NT BEEN THERE BEFORE. FOOD EXCELLENT, LARGE MENU TO CHOOSE FROM, TRY THE SPECIALS, SIRLOIN STEAKS FOR LESS THAN £4.00. WAITERS VERY FRIENDLY. WATCH OUT FOR THE FREE DRINKS AFTER YOUR MEAL, ESPECIALLY THE CLEAR ONE IN THE SMALL GLASS - IT WILL BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF!

Kirsty C

ANOTHER CLEAN,FREINDLY TRADITIONAL TAVERNA,LARGE MENU OFFERING LOVELY PREPARED MEALS,IT GETS VERY BUSY FROM 7-9PM,YOU WILL GET A DRINK ON-THE-HOUSE AND A WARM WELCOME HERE.

Tony K

totally agree with john macfaddon, excellent value and 100% about the wine, waiters very freindly, will sit and have a laugh with you.will drink more wine if we can get the jug off john alison and kirsty, try the scnapps as well very leg wobbling.

John M

DIAS HAS TO BE OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IN KALAMAKI. IT OFFERS A GREAT VARIETY OF TRADITIONAL GREEK FOOD AS WELL AS STEAKS, FRESH SEAFOOD AND MEDITERANEAN DISHES, AND ALSO PROVIDEDS A GO0D CHILDRENS MENU. DON'T FORGET TO TRY THE DIAS HOUSE WINE, WHITE AND ROSE, BUT BE CAREFUL, IT IS VERY POWERFUL AND MOREISH. IT IS A FAMILY RUN RESTAURANT AND THEY WILL DO THEIR UPMOST TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BRILLIANT MEAL.

Simon A

Webmaster I think this should be Dias with an "i". This could explain the lack of response. Dias with an i was liked by us and a big hit with our two girls aged 7 & 10. Nice ambiance, nice food, busy but good space between tables and the split level layout meant not overcrowded. Dishes were happily tailored for our veggie eldest. Waiters very pleasant and jokingly understanding of the tail end of my hangover(see comments on Daniel Hotel). Well worth checking out

Rick L

We ate there about 6 times when we were in Kalamaki last May/June. 3 adults,3 courses with drinks about £12. Good selection. good service
