the hotel was great but it was the people they put in it that was crap.youths who treated it as there school playground running up and down corradoors shouting at 5 in the mornning with no respect for people asleep.

Oh yeah i know where Durham is. Went up to Newcastle (Quayside) for a mates birthday in Feb had a brill time. Glad you liked Victoria Hotel last year, thought id go a bit up market this time tho!!! Stayed in a bit of a shed last year at the top of the strip which consisted of a toilet, shower, bed and wardrobe but i suppose thats all we needed really. Anyway not long to go now, 7 weeks i think and i can't wait. Me and Emma are on mad diets to TRY and create a nice ish beach bod. Were eating bloody rice cakes, cottage cheese, ryvita, fruit, veg and all the other boring stuff in the week. However, weekends tend to consist of loads of alcohol and take aways, so not doing that well really HA HA!!! Anyway guys keep intouch till you go and we'll hopefully meet you there. Louise xxx

get ready for a good time if you're stoppin at the victoria, well a very drunken one anyway! i worked there for a cpl of months last year and the year b4. nadia the barmaid is an absolute star and total nutter. we'd just get pissed behind the bar 7 nights a wk and get all the tourist that we liked as w**ked as us on free shots and "witch piss" cocktails. the hotel is basic, but with the nightlife as close to hand who gives a monkeys...

HOLIDAY WAS GREAT EXCEPT WE ASKED FOR A QUIET OUT OF THE NOISE HOTEL AND WERE GIVEN THIS HOTEL WHICH WAS CRAZY, WE HAD TO SLEEP IN EARPLUGS, NOT TO MENTION IT WAS MORE LIKE A 18-30 HOTEL WITH REVELLERS COMING IN AT 4-5AM IN THE MORNING AFTER A NIGHT OUT, FIGHTING AND LOUD SHOUTING AND SWEARING. IDEAL FOR YOUNG GROUPS OF GIRLS OR LADS BUT NOT COUPLES. NOT TO MENTION HOTEL SPOOKY, OUR ROOM WAS DEFINATELY HAUNTED. ROOM 108 DONT GO THERE UNLESS YOUR INTO SPOOKS!!! OVERALL PLACE WAS NICE BUT JUST A LITTLE TOO MAD FOR US.

 Hi to everyone going to zante this year,i worked in zante for the last 3 years and had a great time.The hotal Victoria is very nice and in a good place on the strip,There is a girl called Nadia behind the bar, shes totally off her head and a right laugh.im sure you`ll all enjoy your stay there.

Going Zante July 05 and staying in the victoria Hotel. Just wondering if anyone stayed in Victoria Hotel "self catering" rooms and if so what are they like? Are they big and do you get all the necessities? Also do you have to hire fridges and A/C, are they value for money or is it expensive? Would appreciate any information!? Thanks!!

stayed here in september, had a wicked time, the bairmaids were great, especially lauren, thanx lauren or should i say koala for all thise shots, you really made my holiday, hope to see you there next year.

In excelent location, right in the middle of all the bars so not far to stumble home drunk! Breakfast wasn't worth gettin up for but the pool was good and Nadia and the other barmiad were really friendly and a good laugh

Fantastic location for young people and straight out side the hotel was everything you could have wished for bars clubs just down the road. Breakfast is not too gud but the snack bar does everything else. The beach about 5minute walk from the hotel which was brilliant.

We stayed here from the 20th June to the 5th July in room 514! Had a fab time! Big shout out to Nadia and Matt from behind the bar! Thanks for all the free drinks! Hi to Martin, Steve & Bob! You helped make our holiday! Hi to Kyle! Hope our balcony was comfortable! Have to visit Ghetto & Prestige to get your free drinks off Ed & Rich! Go to Cherry Bay for cheesy pop & a gud boogie! Bad Boys & Waikiki are the place to be for R&B! Also a big shout out to Martin, Dave, Cotty, Paul & Andy! U were something else!!!!!

We just got back from a stay in the Victoria Hotel 29th July to the 6th August, me and 2 other mates, if your looking for something basic and simple, then Victoria is for you. Its clean and tidy your room has a TV, nice little balcony, but for aircon and fridge additional charges apply, so be aware (35euros for aircon for a week) not sure how much for the fridge because someone had busted the lock off :) The bathroom is ok with a bath shower, but the shower did not have a mount on the wall to place it on, which was a bit annoying.
I do not really recommend this Hotel for familys, where we stayed and the right block of the Hotel it was quite loud, music plays from the bars till 12pm and it can be heard not the best if you have sleeping kids. You have about 5-7mins walk down to the beach down the main strip past all the bars restaurants and shops you are close to everything you need, the Victoria could not be better placed im my opinion.

Stayed here from 20th June - 4th July. Was a lovely Hotel, just a shame the rooms let it down a bit (well especially room 505) But apart from that had a lovely time there.

Bar staff are great there really friendly. Big hello to Nadia, George and Matt, thanx for all the free shots.

Booked to go away in july to victoria hotel and thought it looked really nice, went to zante few years back and remembering picking coach up from there and thinking it was lovely. But now read loads of these messages and petrified its a s**t hole!
Please someone let me know the truth what its like and also anyone got any tips for where to go for good nights out etc?

this hotel is really good for young people, i worked in zante last summer and stayed here for a week. you get good chat around the pool, the rooms are basic but clean, its really central so safe to walk home alone at night and the staff r really friendly, even when i used to be sick/fall asleep in odd places! Cheap pool bar, hi to george and nadia and thanks for all the free shots when i was so poor!

me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 2 months while he was working as dj its really nice with freindly staff. george and nadia are a couple so dont fall for georges charm he thinks by not letting anyone know more people will come into the bar.watch out for the mosquitos.

I've been to the Victoria Hotel in september 2003. It was really great. I was also a bit worried when I read some of the comments.
The breakfast was simple but nice. Me and my friend had a good time at the hotel, it wasn't dirty at all.

My friends and I have just booked a holiday to the Victoria Hotel and were wondering what it was really like. We have read the comments on the site, some briliant, others saying how dirty it is and have started to panic. Is it really that basic, and how clean is it? We were also wondering if anyone could recommend us the best places for 7 18 yr old girls to visit in a week?

My boyfriend & I are going on holiday with another couple for two weeks in June. We are all 20 so we want the best of both worlds. Lively nightlife and the choice of quiet nightlife too. I am a very clean person therefore I am a little worried as to what the accommodation is like. I will be staying in a studio on one of the upper floors. What are the Breakfasts like? What are the bathrooms like?

This place is absolutely amazing. Came on here a few days before we went away and were a bit worried because there seemed to be quite a few bad comments about the place. Went to Zante in the first week in August 2003 and after seeing some of the hotels on the coach heading towards the victoria, me and my friends were a bit worried. When we got there the feeling seemed to be the same with everyone in the hotel - by far the best one around in that area. Smack bang in the middle of all the action. Hotel is great, people around there are a great laugh and the holiday was perfect. Only thing that was a slight downer was the zante airport. Very small and over packed. Also alot of people trying to get money off u on the streets but if you just ignore them they wont bother you. Definately going back to the place. 10 out of 10

Visited this hotel July 2002. Went with my boyfriend, and although we had a wonderful time, the accommodation could have been better. Laganas itself is great - the nightlife is lively, and there are plenty of places to eat in the evening etc. The only problem for me was the accommodation. We asked to move rooms once. Although the Greeks are reknowned for their basic accommodation, I did not expect this. The bathroom was like something from the 1970's, and if you don't mind sitting in a half bath - not even big enough to bath a child in - then you'll be fine - wasn't impressed at all. Also don't think Greeks know what electricians are - they just leave loose wires hanging out of the wall connected to telephones and lamps etc. The bedroom, could've done with a good dust, but maybe I'm being a bit harsh as my friends liken me to Monica Geller from Friends. Didn't like the fact that there were the remains of a lizard on the balcony, and by remains I mean the skelton of the lizard. The poor thing had died, but how difficult was it for the maids to dispose of it. Also woke up one morning, when it had been raining all night, to hear a few of the hoteliers cleaning up - the roof had obviously been leaking in the hallway. At the end of the day, I tried to get over the fact that I was staying in a hotel where I had been ripped off (&470 for 1 week) and dreaded having a shower every day, and tried to see the resort as a place with a fantastic beach, Big Brother in most bars-hehe, lovely restaurants and meals, and a great night life.

My boyfriend and i have just booked two weeks in Zante at the Hotel Victoria, we have had a rough year and want to get away from it all. After reading all the comments about the hotel i am worried we are not going to like it at all and make the year even worse. What does any one think that has been there recently?

its got a great pool area,excellent location-big rooms-good value.

Had a great time here, its clean close to everything and the staff are great. Top marks to the bar staff {esp the young girl!!} and bottom marks to the JMC rep who will try to rip you off from day one!
If you want to book trips find a chap called SASHA in the high street He's aroud 30 yards on the left towards the beach. He'll save you LOADS and can recommend a great place to eat. HI SASH!

I stayed there for 2 weeks during june 2002. The hotel is located perfectley for both the nightlife and the beach. The breakfast wasn't upto much ( no cooked food) but appart from that I thought that the hotel was nice. It's got a great pool area and all the staff are very nice especially Nadia behind the main bar. If I was to visit Zante again, I would definatley consider the Victoria Hotel.

We spent two weeks at the Victoria in august of this year(2002), the hotel was very basic but in quite nice surroundings. However our room was loppy, including the fridge we had to pay for to hire! One of the beds was broken which although reported was never replaced or mended. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and continually invaded by mosquitos, despie using all of the recommended products. This we could probably have lived with if it wasn`t for the jmc rep who was totally disinterested unless you were buying excursions from her!!! BEWARE some of our party had money nicked from their room...safety deposit box essential!!! Pool area very nice and relaxing despite being in the heart of the resort and the snack bar staff friendly.

What an absolute discrace. We went on the under the impression that the Hotel Victria was a good 3/4 star hotel. What a joke that turned out to be. Where do i start. On arrival at the hotel we were made to wait for 2 hours for our room to be ready. that was OK but when we did get the key to our room and opened the door the room was a absolute mess. Beer cans all over the floor and the smell of sweat was discusting. No problem they said we will have it cleaned in 5 minutes. When we did eventually get into the room it was very basic to say the least. The cable for the phone and side light were hanging out and the light in the bathroom had no light shade. The so called bath was cracked and the beds stank. The pool wasn't clean and most of outside lights around the hotel were broken. The only good thing about the hotel was the friendly bar staff. The resort and zante wear beautiful but a would never go to that hotel if you paid me

Excellent accomodation - excellent location - good value - good bar - and an amazing Ukranian bar girl! Would highly recommend this place!
