Good to see you all again for the second time this year...  Hang on in there Pannos and we'll see you next in June 2007.

Sharon T

Hi Panos

It was lovely to come back again, even better that it was on the Greek night which I have never been to before despite having been to Tsilivi many times!!  The food as always was wonderful and I don't know how you do it but you remembered me again even though I haven't been for 2 years.

Anyway, I hope you have a lovely winter break and I will definitely be back again next year.

Take care

Sharon xx

Linda P

Ate at Koukos one night last week and while the food was quite nice we had better elsewhere.

John R

Wanted to visit here on their Greek night. We had passed by the week before and it looked good and when we got their on the night it didn't dissapoint. Great traditional greek dancing and music which carried on for several hours while we enjoyed our meal. The food was excellent and served quickly especially when you considor how busy the place was. We would recommend getting there early as possible to ensure that you get a good seat to see the show!

Marilyn S

We have been to Tsilivi 4 times before, have always eaten here, this is the best resturant in the resort.

Greek night is not to be missed.

Russ

I think myself; my wife and the two children all agreed this was our favourite restaurant in Tsilivi.

The food was excellent and we all had a good time, kids were happy because there were two slush machines, both full, so it provided a change for them from coke & sprite.

The starters were really nice, especially saganaki, & Greek village sausage.

The only down side was that I was trying to put what I thought was piece of green pepper on my fork, until it started running around my plate! It turned out to be a sort of aphid that had fallen on my plate.

Serves me right for not wearing my glasses

Deborah N

Nice to see Pannos again, I've always found the food and service here excellent, and this year was no exception, with the place packed out each time we went.  Sorry we didn't get to see you all a bit more but we'll be back to do it all again in October!  See you all then.  Anne & Steve Vincent

Came here last year (July 2005) And went to the Greek night. It was hilarious! Me and my mother was dancing the whole night as they wouldnt let us sit down! Luckily my mother escaped to the toilet to miss one dance and i went to follow but got pulled back by one of the dancers! The food was lovely aswell. It is better if you book a table the night befor if you would like attend to the Greek night as it can get rather busy. Lots of love, Ashlee x (The picture is of me and one of the dancers!) If you have any questions about the place, i have been coming here for five years, email me at xXAshley04Xx@hotmail.com)

Lizzie J

we also went to the Greek Night and it was a really good laugh. Yes they get you up dancing but its really good fun and the food is great.

Gill P

We went here on Greek night.......once a week they have music and greek dancing.....beware though - they get you all up and dancing round the tables Greek high hand holding style.

Lizzie J

great food! we are going back on Wednesday for Greek night which we have been told is really good fun!!!

Denise E

We went for the Greek Night and had a fantastic night!  Food was lovely, services was excellent and we great entertainment!

Suzi J

Thank you guys for some excellent meals and your service was fabulous.  We had about 4 meals here and each one fantastic. I particularly loved the Chicken Ambrosia with roast potatos, the deserts were great, the vine leaves, the soups, I could go on.  Anyway we had a great time and thank you very much.  Also last night i enjoyed the bottle of wine you gave us Thursday evening when we had our last meal, it was very nice.  Suzi and Mark (the guy with the funny haircut!) xx

Karen G

This was definately our favourite place to eat, the staff are delightful, and we liked the food more than any other place we ate at. They do Greek dancing night on Wednesday and Sundays, we went along to one of them, it was a great night and a lot of fun, however they do a reduced menu on these nights, and whilst the food is good, make sure you go on a non dancing night to fully appreciate the quality of the food. Nothing is too much trouble you can ask them to alter the dishes to suit your taste and they will oblige. The owner Planos made the cheeescake himself and it was to die for, the best I have ever tasted. May 2006LaughTongue

After daily exploring the beautiful island of Zakynthos with our bikes we very much enjoyed having dinner in this fine Greek restaurant. The food and wines were excellent! Played some chess games as well against the owner Panagiotis. Keep practising Panagiotis!

Linda N

We married in Zakynthos in 1998 and have been almost every year since.  We knew Panagiotis when he was a waiter, and now the owner.  It was wonderful before, but he's transformed it.  Just one comment; slightly less traditional than it used to be but, hey, he has to make a living.

Missed you in 2005 Pani, but hope to be back in 2006.  Still practising my Greek and still LOVE the spicy cheese and aubergine.

Keep up the good work.

Natalle C

A very friendly Taverna ,thats make you very welcome

and all of the staff are first class quality.....

Steve V

We've been using this place now for years and will no doubt do so for many more.  Always good food and service and never a shock when you get the bill!  Counting the weeks to our next visit already.

Charlotte C

We had a very enjoyable meal here, and also very reasonable at 25 Euros for starters, mains, bottle of wine and soft drinks.  Food was of excellent quality here, I had the Mezze and hubby had the Lamb Kleftiko which were both very good.  Staff were very friendly.

Allielou

Hiya Julie, Panos is the shortened version of his first name. Bit like Alexandra- Alex, so the owners havent changed, think they will be there forever!

Mike G

Will have to break the trend here and say that our experience of Koukos doesn't seem to have been as pleasant as most others'.  Whilst the waiters were friendly and the service very good, the food just wasnt up to the standard we became accustomed to in Tsivilli.  Perhaps I was unlucky in my choice of steak, but it was bland and not hot enough.

Being literally dragged into the dancing entertainment whilst eating our main course was also not the best since a rather luke warm meal was practically cold by the time we could escape to eat the rest.

Yet the entertainment was an experience, my starter of squid was very nice, and the atmosphere one of the best we encountered.  Given the praise from others on this website, I think I was simply unfortunate and would advise others to certainly give the restaurant a go on either a wednesday or sunday for the entertainment (and perhaps be a little more determined in declining the offer of a dance if halfway through your meal)

Emma T

We visited this resaurant twice during our weeks holiday in Tsilivi, and is well worth the visit. The food we ordered on both occasions was fantastic and you definately get your moneys worth!! The staff are pleasant and make sure they look after your needs. The service was quick and always presented well. Its especially well worth visiting on a traditional greek dancing evening so that you can enjoy your super whilst enjoying the local traditional enteratainment provided for you. I definately recommend!! - Watch out for the dancers trying to drag you up to dance with them!!!!

Sandra G

One of the best restaurants we ate at, food was out of this world and the staff were very friendly
very very nice greek waiter!

We have visited Tsilivi for the last 3 years and eat at Koukos every night that we are there. When we've visited Paniotis was the owner and over the years he has become something of a friend to us. Ive noticed that some people have called the owner Panos. Has the restaurant changed hands since last year.

Our second holiday in Zante and we returned to our most favourite restaurant. You can't beat it for food, drink and the very friendly service. Excellent value for money.

Panos is a great owner, the staff are excellent and we shall see you next year.

Still haven't managed a Greek night yet maybe next year!!!

Paul

The food, service and atmosphere at Koukos was excellent!!!...We stayed in Tsilivi for a week and tried a different restaurant each night....the Majestic was a nice place, popeyes was over-crowded and over-rated and romeos served us processed food but Koukos beat them all hands down for an authentic greek meal so we chose to return there on our last night...the staff are friendly and will stop for a chat....when we return to Zante we will definitely eat here again!!!....Paul and Sharon (London)

Sam J

Had this amazing Greek dancing night in Koukos, best night of our holiday!Went there with my family and were sooo lucky to find a table..so you'd better book early for the Greek night..Don't miss lamb kleftiko, it's out of this world!!The dessert was great too, though it took them ages to bring it-anyway to make it up to us  they brought some plates to smash!!

Christina S

Delicious, mouth watering food....friendly staff with very good command of the English language...great atmosphere with Greek dancing till the early hours!!Have been there several times and had a great time! Will definitely go back when I visit Zante again...Real value for money..Would highly recommend it...Excellent choice for anyone seeking a real taste of Greek traditional cuisine

Dee B

Absolute rubbish, cold, tastless and the service was off-hand .  Very bad...

Anne H

This was an average for everything. We had better food and service for a lower price in Tsilivi for sure!

Zoe P

I have to say this restauran has the best grrek night around. we went at the end of august, and i had a great time, the atmosphere was fantastic..even when i got up on the table to dance i enjoyed it...the food was ok too, i didnt enjoy my dish but my parents enjoyed their lamb kefliko a lot.

Hope to go to another great greek night of theres next year:)

Steve V

A fantastic place, we visit here several time every year and always make our last night on the island a special one by eating here. This year we were joined by Pepe & Eleani (who used to run the bar at Angelika II), they brought along their kids and we all had a great time.

Lin

I have been coming to Tsilivi every year since 2000 and have eaten in Koukas once during each of my stays. I was there in july and really enjoyed an evening of greek dancing and when I returned in September I was keen to take my niece there for the dancing. 5 of us went there and with the exception of my niece we had all eaten there before on numerous occasions, unfortunately we will not be returning. We all ordered different meals and not one of them was edible and when we told the waiter he said he was sorry and that was it. We paid 76 euros for a meal that none of us touched. on the evening in question there were two large tables with greeks on and this included koukos himself therefore we think that all the service was cocentrated on these people and forget about the visitors. We also ordered greek potatoes with our meals and were served chips only to be told when we asked why, that they had run out of greek potatoes and this was before 10 pm. Needless to say we shall not be going back

Damon T

Again as a meat eater no issues with my food. My other half ordered cod fillet and expected a fillet of cod cooked in a traditional Greek way with a good Greek sauce so she was a little shocked to be presented with battered cod and chips – all it needed was the mushy peas! Service was OK and instead of shots after the meal they gave us nasty spongy key rings!

Matt F

The best restraunt i have ever bin 2 in greece and i have been 2 greece 7 times i luv it there but this is the best reccomend it 2 any 1 and the greek dancing is amazing Food was brilliant Service was superb and the price was Exellent!!!!

Zoe M

WENT THERE ON WEDNESDAY 28TH JULY - IT WOZ ONE OF THE BEST NITES OF MY HOLIDAY!!!! BEING GREEK I LOVE GREEK DANCING AND THEY WERE THE BEST DANCERS IN TOWN, THE ATMOSPHERE WOZ GREAT ALTHOUGH THEY ENJOYED PICKING ME AS THEIR VICTIM TO DANCE BUT IM NOT COMLPLAINING! (THE PICS R ON MY WEBSITE WWW.FACE-PIC.COM/LONDONS_SEXIEST)
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE GREEK NITE HERE ON WEDNESDAYS AND SUNDAY! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I HAD THE MIXED GRILL HMMMMMM I CAN ALMOST SMELL IT!!!

Englishgurl L

we came here for a greek night and it was fantastic, the greek dancing was brilliant food was yummy, and the little ones got free t-shirts. there was plate smashing and dancing on table with fire rings to! was well worth paying a little bit more!

Pat N

Greek night was amazing, such fun that everyone should go. Food delicious (try the chicken kleftiko), service good and reasonable prices.

Emma E

I wish our experience of this place was as pleasant as everyone elses! We waited almost an hour for the food as there was a large party there. There were four of us at the table - my boyfriend ordered garlic prawns which he enjoyed and I can't remember what my brother ordered but he said it was okay. My mum ordered lamb on the spit and asked if it was lean. The waiter replied 'yes, very nice, best on the island'. It turned out to be one big lump of COLD fat and gristle. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans - the potato was the size of my head with only a spoonful of beans and a sprinkle of cheese. I complained about the food served to me and my mum to the waiter and he didn't even apologise. He just stomped off with the food and we had to wait a further 20 minutes for the replacement meals. My mum's came back with chips instead of the roast potatoes that it was supposed to be served with and my potato came back exactly the same as the first one. I also heard the lady on the next table complain that her food was also cold. There were no apologies and as the waiter didn't give a s**t we didn't bother to tip him! I'm assuming we were just unlucky seeing as though all the other reviews are very complimentary. Personally, I wouldn't go back there if I had a gun to my head!

Emma L

Food and service is excellent. Go on a Wednesday or Sunday and they have Greek Music and Dancing. We went last Wednesday and it was a fantastic night, the dancers were excellent and not to be missed.

Charlie T

never had a bad meal yet

Dave G

This was a surprise as the staff are a little pushy outside to get 'victims' I mean diners!! Th4ere was no music when we were there and the food and experience was excellent. I found the ASPARAGUS starter divine, it was with MoZARRELLO and little pieces of bacon and baked in the oven. At 3 euro a gem. We then had OCTOPUS, great, SWORDFISH,likewise and I had a MAMA MIA pizza made with 4 cheeses, feta, mozarrello, parmesan and rocquefort. Really recommended.

Great deserts followed and a great evening for all. Surprisingly excellent.

Chris G

Highly recommended, excellent food, service and atmosphere. The Stamna was great.

Howard G

Highly recommended. Only the stunning Fiorentina was better,

Helen B

Peter P

Is the most traditional Greek tavern in Tsilivi.Excellent Greek cuisie and entertaiment.Home made food made from fresh and local products. The best Greek music night on the island by far.
we love koukos........

Shazza

The best restaurant in Tsilivi by far. Great food, waiter service and prices. It's nice that the waiters remember you from ages ago as well. This will be the first restaurant I visit next September without a doubt.

Cass C

We ate here twice during our 1 week holiday - we went there on our last night as it was the only place we wanted to return to - the lamb kleftiko was THE BEST. I would not hesitate recommending Koukos to anyone visiting Tsilivi. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Next time we go to Tsilivi we will definately return to Koukos

Angie H

This is the first place I had something nice to eat.Steak in Zorba sauce, about 8 euro and well worth it. The service is good and the atmosphere is authentic greek.

Karen S

Fantastic restaurant, came here twice with my Friend. We were only on the Island for one week wish it had been longer! Our first meal at Koukos was the Meze for two/three people, well as my friend and I can eat a lot we thought what the hell. When the food came up it would have fed Four people. Everyone round us laughed and said we would never eat it but we did. What pigs we were! It was wonderful food, we liked it so much that we came back for the Greek night on the Wednesday (10th September) and had a wonderful evening and more lovely food. Please visit you will not be disappointed. A quick mention to the restaurant owner, thanks for the Olive oil we are still using it!

Maria P

We had a brilliant time at Koukos - we ate there 3 times with my family. The Greek night on Wednesday's was fantastic, excellent food, music, excellent dancers and lots of entertainment.....if you're getting up to dance - you'll probably get spun around the dance floor on the shoulders of one of the dancers like I was!! The owner - Panos made us feel very welcome - lovely guy and the waiters are very friendly - especially Tony. Hope to be back soon. YIAMAS!!

Lauren B

How could anybody not LOVE Koukos? The atmosphere at Koukos is wonderful, as it is so cheerful, and you don't feel as though you are being rushed out the door unlike other restaurants. The waiters were fantastic all four times we went there, always remembering who we were, and making sure that we were having a great time. I am still madly in love with Tsilivi and the island of Zakynthos, and a great deal of this experience can be credited to the staff of Koukos, especially Panos, who was constantly checking up on me to ensure that I was satisfied during my time on the island. I would go back to the island in a heartbeat, and Koukos would be the first place on my agenda.

Jeff M

Returned last week from Tsilivi, been going for about 12 years! I'm glad to say Panos never changes and neither does his restaraunt. We always get a wonderful welcome at the Koukos. The food is still very good and reasonably priced. It is just a pity that some of the other restaraunts and bars are now becoming indifferent and surly towards customers,(familiarity breeds contempt, maybe?). Tony, good luck with your trip to the UK with Katherine,I hope you have a good time.Kind regards to Paniotis and his family. From Kath and Jeff.

Yvonne R

Although only ate here once the food was very good. There was a very wide choice on the menu. Any of the beef dishes are excellent. The staff are very friendly. For a meal for 4, soft drinks and wine we paid about 60 euroes.

Pat & Alex

Just back in England and even though its hot and sunny it can't compare. Thanks to everyone at Koukos, the Greek night on Wednesday was the best time we've ever had in Zakynthos - the dancers were amazing! What on earth is Douglas talking about? The meal we had was superb (chicken kleftiko) and Tony, you're just the best waiter on the island, your pina coladas, without doubt, beat all of the ones at the cocktail bars and I've sampled them everywhere!!

Douglas B

Last October the meal we had was dreadfull, the service almos as bad . Not a place to sample real Greek hospitality!!

Guess W

The evening meals were excellent during our weeks stay in June. Our thanks to all the staff for entertaining us so well....see you in October.

John O

THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT,THE SERVICE WAS SO GOOD THAT MY SISTER FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WAITER WHO WAS SERVICING HER!!
