Daisy Studios - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Steve V

Having returned from Zakynthos today after a two week stay at the Daisy, I have to add the following comments much in support of what Jim has written. Although the apartments are far better, cleaner and much better maintained (Sheets and towels changed 5 times in two weeks), compared to where we normally stay just over the bridge. I do have to say that the Greek family at Daisy are doing themselves no favours. Our friends were in the next apartment to us and left a tip there for the two cleaners, one handed the key in at reception having left their partner in the room to check all was ok... Only to have one of the daughters enter the room and remove the tip! I left our tip with Ted at the bar to ensure the girls got it.
Also the ignorance of the family in the bar in beyond belief, Mama sits there as far from the TV as possible to watch it. If you strike up a conversation with anyone across the tables, she grabs the remote and turns up the volume!
I wouldn't advise anyone not to go there as overall it is a far better place than many others in the same price range but do be prepared for these things as described, as well as Papa's nasal catarrh movment exercises in the mornings!

Benikos - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

This place is fantastic and I recommend it to anyone. I've known Becky and Nikos for a few years and Theo since he was a bump! This new venture of theirs deserves all the praise possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the food is of exceptional quality as well as generous in portion etc. Nikos' attention to detail is microscopic as he strives for perfection. If you don't see what you want on the menu, ask... You will not be dasappointed.

Gyroland Menu - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V

Having eaten at Gyroland every year at least twice during our holiday's since 2001, I was disappointed with the place this year. The emphasis has gone from the taverna to the fast food outlet. The building work undertaken since last year proves this. However Gyroland was always good for steaks, so as usual we went in. It was awful, as I was eating the steak, oil was flowing from the remainder across the plate as if it had been deep fried from frozen or something!? I didn't eat it all and when the girl asked how the food was I told her, politely. We were not offered dessert but were offered complimentary coffee's. We decined, left and went elsewhere to finish our evening. Won't be going in next year!

Maina - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V  (11 October 2004)

Only managed to get to this one once, but it really was excellent... It was a Sunday night and fairly quiet but as we'd only just arrived in Tsilivi and tired from travelling, quiet was just what we wanted. We were last out but at no time felt we'd outstayed our welcome... Next year we hope to use Maina more.

Trenta Nove - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V

Did lunch here when it was quiet a couple of times so couldn't comment on busier times. The Greek salad was the biggest I've ever had and thus good value for money but could have done with more olives... I would certainly go again if only for lunch.

Popeyes - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V

Sorry to read David's comment below... We use Popeyes for breakfast everyday we're in town and have never had a problem with service or the attitude of the staff... To be honest, I've never witnessed anyone else have trouble either. However, anyone can have an "off" day. Having just got back to the UK from Zante I'm already missing the "Traditional English" with endless coffee's...

Koukos - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V

A fantastic place, we visit here several time every year and always make our last night on the island a special one by eating here. This year we were joined by Pepe & Eleani (who used to run the bar at Angelika II), they brought along their kids and we all had a great time.

Benikos - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

This establishment goes from strength to strength...  In two weeks we ate here six or seven times and have nothing but praise for the staff, the food and the service.  Interesting to note that even on the quiet evenings in Tsilivi when many restaurants were empty, Becky and Nikos seemed to have 20 or more tables occupied...  Many of the occupants we had seen there before too which in a village with 70 odd places to eat MUST speak for itself.

Camelot - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steve V  (06 November 2005)

In previous years we seem to have passed this place by but having been remembered by Bill this year, we thought we ought to give it a try.  Had a very enjoyable evening in a very relaxed atmosphere.  Towards the end of the night I promised Anna we would try a breakfast there the next day...  As good as my word, we did...  We never ate breakfast anywhere else after that for the rest of our holiday, exceptional value compared to other places in the village and always a friendly welcome.

We've been using this place now for years and will no doubt do so for many more.  Always good food and service and never a shock when you get the bill!  Counting the weeks to our next visit already.
