Restaurants in Tsilivi

Sarah G (21 August 2003)

Hiya. Am very excited, me and my fella are going to Tsilivi on Sept 11th!!!!! It's my first time abroad ever and I can't wait. I'm a little concerned though as I'm a veggie. Does anyone recommend any restaurants/cafes that do yummy meat free dishes?
Thanks Sarah

Would certainly recommend eating here - we were there for a week and went 2 nights - can't fault anything about it - lovely food, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Peter N  (02 August 2003)

I agree with most others...this is probably the best place to eat in Tsilivi. Not too big, not too small...excellent service in very pleasant surroundings. Our party of 6 ate here 3 times and had great meals each time. Try the Lamb In The Oven, Pougi or Beef Stifado...you will not find better!

Laura W  (26 July 2003)

Can someone advise the average cost of a 3 course meal in the Fiorentino.

Sandra M  (22 July 2003)

I first went to Tsilivi in May 1999 and this was our favourite restaurant then - we ate there almost every night and had the odd breakfast too. We're returning to Tsilivi in September this year and after reading all these other fabulous reports I know where we'll be eating every night! It's just a shame that they do not do breakfasts any more. Roll on September.

Elaine M  (08 July 2003)

This place was my fave of all the restaurants. Had lovely crispy mushroom starters followed by one of their chicken dishes - can't remember the name but it was chicken in a spicy tomato and onion sauce - you could ask for it to be hot or medium. REally scrumptious. The zakynthian potatoes were yummy too. Went back a couple of times and had to wait about 10 mins for a table - but it is so worth it! It seemed to be quieter before 7.30 and after 9.30.

Best place to eat in Tsilivi. We went 3 times in 1 week and tried to eat 3 courses each time. I recommend the fillet and the fried bananas and the fried aubergines and everything else on the menu. MAKE SURE YOU GO THERE!

Eddie B  (26 June 2003)

Excellent place to eat, that's if you can get a table.
The best times to go are early evening or late at night to avoid the wait. We could not fault the food or the sevice.
Fiorentino is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Tsilivi.
Whatever you order, it will be of the finest quality. Definately worth a visit.

Helen   (09 June 2003)

fiorentinos is almost next door to the olive tree taverna (on the same side of the road as Jokers and the Escape cocktail bar). hope this helps

Simon D  (07 May 2003)

I am going to Tsilivi in a few days time. Can anyone tell me where this restaurant is?? Thanks.

Nigel R (25 March 2003)

Ok everyone is raving about this place "so where is it" Somebody let me know please

Kim L  (03 March 2003)

To mildly understate it THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO EAT IN THE WORLD........
Very good value for money and if you get there and see a queue ask yourself why would people queue if it's no good?? Once you've been you will get there earlier to avoid disappointment...

Anna S  (23 January 2003)

I really agree with the other comments: IT IS THE BEST PLACE I´VE EVER BEEN! I really liked the food, the service (very very nice people :-)!!),... You just have to go there if you´re in Tsilivi!!!

Peter J  (05 November 2002)

Simply the best place to eat that we found in Tsilivi!

Brian S  (17 October 2002)

Thank you Frank and Roxani for the best meals we ate in Tsilivi. The menu had an excellent choice to suit any budget and your speciallities were wonderful. all four of us in our party agreed that this was the best restaurant in Tsilivi. If you want to eat here then you will have to arrive early or be prepared to wait a little while whilst Frank sorts out the tables as they become available. Beleive me it is worth the wait.

Edna   (17 October 2002)

have just returned fom tsilivi for the second time this year......Never got the chance to sample the delights of Fiorontino's in the summer..Too impatient to wait in queues I am regretting that now. This week we still had a short wait but went three times the food was fab. We had the Pougi, beef Stroganoff, Chicken in peppers, Steak Starters were great wine was good. No complaints whatsoever. If you go there on your first night you won't want to try anywhere else.

Gary F  (25 September 2002)

Only ne of two taverna's we ate in twice. Very good food, especially the lamb special we had one night, absolutly delicious. Found nothing wrong with the house wine which we had, but then wine is a subjective matter.

Joanne   (23 September 2002)

ate here the first night and out of all our party 8 of us the food was terrific

Mary B  (16 August 2002)

I have just returned from Tsilive (august 7-15th) and enjoyed Fiorentino's following the recommendations made on this site. The food was great, we didnt have to queue or wiat that long for the food, house wine is not recommended though.

Jeffrey B  (22 July 2002)

We ate there nearly every night. Once you've been you can't stop going back. Yes, you do have to wait a long time during the heavy 8 - 10 peak but a bottle of Solomon Rose helps and you won't regret the wait. Good food like the Pugi or fried cod in beer batter takes time. Try the stuffed mushrooms or tomatoes to start or the squid.

Lilmissastar@aol.com   (19 July 2002)

lovely food and great service

Helen S  (17 July 2002)

my favourite restaurant on the island! eat the swordfish and greek potatoes and u will never look at eating elsewhere....

Clare &  (16 July 2002)

Just returned and cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Chicken Mediterranean, Diavlo, Pougi delicious. Agree that the Greek potatoes instead of chips are a must, as is the side dish of mushrooms & onions. Also recommend starter of stuffed mushrooms. Excellent for kids - they will do anything on menu at a 30% discount. Can't understand 6/10 rating. Definitely 10/10. We like to eat in different places, but we couldn't stop ourselves from returning again and again.

Jim W  (03 June 2002)

Fiorentinos (Frank and Roxanni's)which is positioned next to Pieros is still tops in quality and cost; I was glad to see they have not tried to profiteer from the change to the euro, unlike one or two others. Authentic, quality Greek cuisine.

Martin Q  (29 October 2001)

Still the best in Tsilivi, Get there early can get busy. Don't worry about the wait, it's well worth it. PLEASE don't get chips treat your taste buds to the Greek potatoes. You will go back

Brian D  (27 October 2001)

I agree with comments about the Pougi it is fantastic. We ate several meals at this restaurant and were never disappointed.

Neil J  (15 October 2001)

The restarant is called Fiorentina. Just come back - and yes the Pougi is superb - bit like greek beef wellington (!). Even the most mundane dishes are excellent here. My wife and I ate there on numerous occasions, although as it is small you may have to queue to get in, but worth it. If you go to Tsilivi you have to try this place.

Cheryl P  (29 September 2001)

Definitely the best restaurant we tried in Tsilivi. Would recommend having the Greek Potatoes instead of chips and the Fried Onion and Mushroom sidedish (at GDR 600). Yummy and extremely good value. Go there early in your holiday. You will return.

Shaun K  (20 September 2001)

We had 3 meals there and every one was fantastic. I agree the Pougi is to die for. But hope this is the right place as I thought it was called Fiorentinos. We hope to go again soon!!!!!! Shaun & Jo

Dave M  (27 August 2001)

Not sure where the last person ate, but there is nowhere near 40 tables in this place, lucky if it is half that!

Barry C  (21 August 2001)

This restaurant is something else. They have three staff for over 40 tables?? We have to wait ages for food and when it arrived was not very good.

Nicola G  (12 August 2001)

Definitely the best restaurant in Tsilivi. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious.

Dave M  (29 July 2001)

No shadow of a doubt, this is the best restaurant in the town. Because of its size getting a table is not always easy, but it is really worth the wait. Disagree with the comment about the owner, found him to be very pleasant and friendly which is very unusual for a German!

Sarah C  (05 July 2001)

been to tsilivi 4 times , and we eat here nearly every night . Try the pougi ,(lamb baked with veg and feta in puff pastry).small restaurant but definetly one of the best .

John G  (29 June 2001)

Probably the best place we found. Host was a bit grumpy (he's German) but nice atmosphere, good value. Try the pancake with sugar and lemon!

Diane H  (15 June 2001)

Our favourite in Tsilivi, service very good, prices reasonable, Solomos Medium Dry Rose Wine went down a treat!

Garry S  (13 June 2001)

The best restaurant in Tsilivi. Once we discovered it we went back time and time again!

Pat   (06 June 2001)

Food and service very good. Stopping doing breakfast soon as wife is pregnant! Well worth a visit for lunch and evening meal.

Jim W  (21 May 2001)

Brilliant quality of food and at decent prices. Limited floor space so you may have to queue, but well worth it. the pugi is to die for.

Di. C  (13 March 2001)

we look forward to returning in June 2001. We spent 10 evenings out of 14 eating here!
