Fiorentino

Restaurants in Tsilivi

Jan S  (03 September 2007)        10/10

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Tsilivi and only twice made the mistake of trying different restaurants which were both dire so ate at Fiorentino every night.

The food is delicious, fresh and well presented. The lamb in the oven just melts and the chateaubriand an absolute triumph. Fresh chips not frozen!!!!    Many thanks to all the staff you are magnificent!!

Chris B  (14 July 2007)        10/10

Just come back from 2 fab weeks in Zante and spent many occasions in the wonderful Fiorentino. Frank's Lamb Pougi seems to get better every year and for the first time this year I tried the sea bass baked in the grease proof paper which was absolutely delicious.

Its no surprise that people queue up to get in here as the quality of food is top notch. Can't wait to come back!

Paul R  (08 July 2007)        10/10

Ate at Fiorentino's two nights during our stay in Tsilivi in June, on both occassions food was excellent, we had the Sea Bass and Beef Stravados.

Andrea K  (03 July 2007)        10/10

I'm so glad Frank is still there. My partner and I holidayed in Tsilivi last year and visited Fiorentino 4 times. The food is the best ever especially the seafood . I had the seabass cooked in a paper bag with the vegetables, it was gorgeous! I wonder if its still on the menu this year. Can't wait to return but it won't be this year, its Kefalonia this year for us.

John M  (28 June 2007)        10/10

Just got back from a week in Tsilivi and our first time at Fiorentino's

Food was GREAT - Only place we had to queue - that shows how many people know of this little gold mine
For those of you who have been before
Frank is still there - Go and visit. Its well worth it.

Gary C  (22 June 2007)        10/10

Just got back. The standard in this place just gets better every year. Trust yourself to have the dailly specials. Must try!!!!

Chris B  (22 March 2007)        10/10

THE BEST restaurant in Tsilivi. The Lamb Pougi is the best dish I've had in over 20 years of visiting greece. Wonderful food and always our first stop in Tsilivi.

Julie F  (25 September 2006)

Hi to Frank and Dimitri, hope you are still open in October when we return for a week? Recommend your restaurant to anyone visiting Tsilivi,  Natalie chose Stamna each time , even had to make it at home, but it was nothing like yours!! See you soon I hope.  Regards   Julie, Natalie and Tony

Linda P  (06 September 2006)

While in Tsilivi last week we ate at Fiorentino's 1 night, I had the moussaka and my husband had the beef stifado, they were both delicious, we also had homemade cheesecake to follow mmm!!

Tanya C  (06 September 2006)

Excellent greek food at very good prices.  Very easy to miss this small restaurant, but the food was worth it and great value.  My husband swears by the Pugi pie (I'm not a feta fan) but most others agreed this delicacy of lamb and feta cheese in filo pastry in oven was excellent.

Bernard   (25 August 2006)

Glad to hear the great news about the baby, sorry to hear frank and dmitre may not be there next year, Ive been a regular to tsiliv for 5 years and have tried other restaurants but some how they dont quite come up to franks standard, perhaps somebody will keep us updated on events

may have to find another island !!! food was great as usual good luck to all bernard Birmngham

Gary F  (08 August 2006)

Visited this restaurant again this year abd was not dissapointed as usual, even though we were up the Planos end and had a fair old walk, it was worth it.

Everyone was welcoming to us as usual. Food was priced around the same as everywhere else generally. Kids meals were reasonably priced and the portion was just the right size for our 3 & 5 year old, as they were not too big, which can put children off.

We ate there about 4 times with 2 of the occassions being on our last two nights.

There was no queuing this year, though that maybe due to all the restaurants not being really busy at this time of the year, at around 8 too 8:30 when we went to eat. Then all the restaurants we visited seemed quieter than when we have been before in September.

On speaking to Frank on our last night, he informed us that Roxani is pregnant, and they are not sure if they will be carrying on next season, which will be a dissapointment.

Hopefully people will keep this website informed as to what is happening here

Moira F  (02 August 2006)

First visit this year after recommendations - we were not dissappointed. Lovely food and nice atmosphere - try the Lamb Pougi ! We will be back for more.

Anita   (01 August 2006)

we have just returned from tsilivi and cannot recomend this restaurant enough. We ate here on the first night because we read the comments on this page before going and with not one bad comment, we thought we would have to try it. We ate here almost every night for 2 weeks and no other restaurant came close to the standards here. You have got to try the garlic chicken with greek potatoes or the kleftiko.

Many thanks to frank, dimitri and roxani(franks wife and also the chef). They made us feel so welcome. see you again in september.

Shaun W  (31 July 2006)

We where a little let down by this restaurant, maybe  we expected to much due to this website. The food was good but was not the best meal we had during our stay. However for a value meal it is to be recommended.

Jill T  (25 July 2006)

Tried this restaurant after looking at this website and was not disappointed! It was easilly the best meal we had on our hols, in fact the best 2 meals cos we went twice. The stuffed steak was the nicest steak ive ever eaten, fillet stuffed with bacon and cheese, with not one once of fat on it, it only cost 13 euros too. Missing the food from this place already!

Elaine B  (16 July 2006)

long live pougi!!  frank, roxani and dimitri run this restaurant and a visit to tsilivi is not complete without a meal at this fantastic restaurant. the food is unbelievable, the service is second to none and they serve the best ouzo and sprite!

every meal is a culinary delight. we ate there 4 nights on this visit and were never disappointed. there are too many beautiful meals to mention, but pougi is my favourite, if you like lamb and filo pastry this is a must.

thank you frank, dimi and roxani for making our visit to tsilivi a fab experience

John W  (03 July 2006)

Fiorentino was the best restaurant in Tsilivi bar none !

The food was excellent, especially the Garlic Chicken and my wife loved the home-made
apple pie and custard.
Thank you to all concerned.

Andrea R  (03 July 2006)

BEST RESTURANT IN THE RESORT ALL HOME MADE FOOD VERY GOOD INDEED FRANK AND HIS WIFE ROXANNE RUN OWN THIS PLACE WITH DEMITRI AS HEAD WAITER PLEASE TRY IT ITS THE BEST

Kay A  (30 June 2006)

Fantastic food we the sardine starter is lovely and we went back twice for pougi pie. If you eat a bit later you can generally avoid the wait.

Adrian K  (29 June 2006)

This restaurant is superb and on a par for quality with Valantino. Excellent value for money. Spent 3w in May and ate here at least 10 times. Gets very busy and you may have to queue. I am going back in July and will be visiting  this restaurant again. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Fiona K  (22 June 2006)

We have just returned from a fantastic week in Tsivili. We ate out at

Fiorentino Restaurant three times and found the service, food and

atmosphere to be excellent, and highly recommended. Many thanks to

Frank, Roxanne and Dimitriti! Fiona and Louisa from London, UK

Gary C  (21 June 2006)

Once again came out tops of our culinary tour of Tsilivi. Everything we had was top notch, special mention for the pougi!! missing it already. look forward to our next visit.

Lori M  (21 June 2006)

We have just returned from yet another fabulous holiday in Tsilivi.  We ate at Fiorentino again, it is now a compulsory part of our holiday.  The food was, as always, fantastic.  I promised Dimitri that I would post this message because I got his name wrong in last year's, so, Dimitri I apologise for getting your name wrong.  The service was excellent,  as usual.  My favourite's this year.....Fried meatballs with tzatziki, meatballs in sauce, Lamb in the Oven (always fabulous) Sole with lobster sauce, my husband tried this and said it was delicious, fried bananas in honey and cinnamon with cream and of course the black and white ice-cream....gorgeous!!!! If you are visiting Tsilivi Fiorentina is an absolute must, try it you will not be disappointed.

Anne G  (19 June 2006)

Jill, I was in Tsilivi last May - went to Fiorentinos about 3 times - the food is excellent and the service is top notch too - chateaubriand was to die for.  Im heading back to Tsilivi next Sunday (25 June) and will certainly be visiting them again during my 2 weeks there.  Hope you manage to find it - cant really miss it as theres always a queue outside but its definately worth the wait.  Hope you enjoy !

Natalie M  (07 June 2006)

In reply to Jill- the restaurant is situated next to Jokers bar and opposite Traffic bar.

Fantastic home made fresh food!
Try the prawn saganaki, heaven!
It's always busy here but the service is excellent, you may have to wait for a table but it is well worth the wait.
A really good wine list too

Nicola L  (05 June 2006)

Just come back from Tsilivi.  We went 5 nights out of 7 to Fiorentino's, and were not disappointed with anything.  Sea Bass in greasproof paper, was fantastic.  Garlic/Chilli prawns gorgeous. Lamb in the oven excellent, in fact, all the meals we had were lovely! I would recommend anything from their menu, although we did try all the greek dishes.  Can't wait for next year!  Staff great, and atmosphere very good too.  Thanks!
John & Nicola

Peter S  (31 May 2006)

The best value restaurant in Tsilivi Frank, Roxanne and Dimitri never fail to impress us with the quality of food like stuffed mushrooms or the sea bass in greaseproof paper. Frank and his team never fail to make you feel like an old friend and no one should fail to visit them whilst in Tsilivi.

Nigel B  (29 May 2006)

1st Class restaurant!

One of the best!  small and very relaxed
The food is top notch (garlic prawns in chilli sauce are excellent!)
Only problem was that we only tried this on our last night

Wendy L  (27 May 2006)

Frank and Roxanne run the best restaurant in Zakynthos - believe me I've lived there for 6 months - twice!!!!!!!!!!!.Their menu is imaginative, their service is special- and their Greek potatoes are to die for. They are a wonderful couple who really care that you enjoy your meal - and the warmth you feel is real.Visit them - the wait is so worth it

Lori M  (23 February 2006)

We have been going to Tsilivi for 6 years now and always eat at Franks!  I celebrated my 5oth birthday there last summer.  We had a fabulous time, Frank, Roxani and Yiannis made it very special for us, they even kept the secret that my son was coming to surprise me for my birthday. We will be there again this June and I can't wait to tuck into Prawn Saganaki and pitta bread and some of Roxani's fabulous Lamb in The Oven! If you come to Tsilivi you must try Fiorentino, You may have to queue but as everyone else has said, it is well worth the wait.

Sarah T  (24 October 2005)

Have just returned from Tsilivi and miss Fiorentino's so much already!   We ate there three times and food was amazing each night.  Dimitri was a really attentive waiter and always cracking jokes.  I would recommend EVERYTHING we ate especially the starters of calamari, prawn saganaki, prawns with chili and garlic and the pita bread.  Main courses were lovely too espcially seabass with garlic, swordfish with tomato sauce, steak diane, mousaka, grilled prawns and lamb in the oven!  If you can fit any more food in after that, you have to try the apple pie, it is the yummiest apple pie I have ever tasted!!!  The greek potatoes they serve with the main courses are yummy too, much better than having chips!!  We tried a few other restaurants in Tsilivi but they weren't as good as Fiorentinos.  We would definiately recommend it and can't wait to go back!!

Iain W  (17 October 2005)

Very few places in Tsilivi selling what could be described as authentic Greek food that tastes good and is well priced but Frank and Roxanne have managed to just that - easily the best place to eat in Tsilivi.

Janine L  (27 September 2005)

Excellent restaurant to visit.Cannot fault it in any way.Frank is ailways pleasant and helpful.Dimitri is the prefect waiter and always shares a joke and photos with you.The meals cooked by Roxanne and her team are prefect.Definatly the best in Tsilivi. All the others are very good but Fiorentino has the edge.See you next year.

Mike G  (14 September 2005)

Id certainly agree with the last comment posted:  You'd be a fool not to visit this restaurant whilst in Tsillivi!

It was possibly the cheapest meal we ate all holiday, and it was certainly the best.  Garlic prawns followed by lamb in the oven was exquisite whilst the steak that my g/f had was fantastic also.

The staff are very friendly and will accomodate any requests that you have, and I would not only recommend this restaurant, but would say its defoinately well worth any short wait that you may incur.

Graham M  (12 September 2005)

Went to Tsilivi last august returned this year and went straight to Fiorentinos to see if the food was as good as last year, suprise suprise it was even better ( if thats possible ) fabulous food(Lamb in the oven,Stamna,Kokkinisto,Pougi, sweet and sour chicken!!! and loads more) extremely nice, friendly and polite hosts.  Last year homemade apple pie was the special it was fantastic - this year it was cheesecake but Frank said he would do apple pie especially because we asked.  If your staying in Tsilivi you would be a fool not to go to Fiorentinos.  Once you've been your guaranteeded to go again.  A massive 10/10.

Lorna, Graham, Rachael and Michael ( spiked hair )

Emma E  (08 September 2005)

Was recommended trying here by a couple we met at the hotel.  It was the best decision we made! Spent 2 evenings here and the food was amazing.  Really friendly atmosphere and good value.  We saw it fill up quickly as was popular but did not feel rushed to finish our meals.

Will definately return on our next trip to Tsilivi.

Helena W  (21 July 2005)

If you have been to Tsilivi recently and know where mc donalds is?? It is on the same side in that vicinity. There is pierro's and the olive tree too - its in that area. It's only a small place which you go up steps to, but it is a lovely restaurant.

Laura W (13 July 2005)

Where is Fiorentino situated?

Steve C  (28 June 2005)

Totally agree with all other comments - the place is so good that people were queing on the pavement awaiting a table ! Would suggest you go early doors to avoid said rush -  Bon Appetite!

Mark A  (24 June 2005)

we have just got back from tsilivi and the food here was supreme!!!! as always!!!!

Yourglieu, my favourite meal had been taken off the menu but Frank and Roxanne were good enough to make it for me TWICE!!!! top bloke and top restaurant

see you in october!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  for our wedding!

Tony   (22 June 2005)

Absolutely agree with everyone else. The food was excellent and one of the few restaurants that doesn't need to have anyone outside tempting you in. Once you have been, it is a guarantee you will return.

Jacky C  (16 June 2005)

This is the best restraurant I have ever eaten in anywhere in the world. Whether you have the traditional Pogia or the Rack of Lamb, the Escalop Hoffmann it is all wonderful and at a stupid low price!

Keep up the good work

Alan S  (13 June 2005)

As Tina Turner would say, "simply the best"!, the sea food, the pogia, the steak and chateuxbrian is to die for keep it up for when we return in august and october

Alan & Karen

Ian B  (25 May 2005)

Best wishes Frank, Roxani and Dimitri.

Zoe P  (26 October 2004)

I stayed in tsilivi in August 2004, and i have to say this was the best restaurant. We must have eaten there soo many times. The food was value for money and delicious..all the greek food was great.. The staff were friendly and great. I'm going back next june for 3 weeks on my own, so im sure i'll be eating there lots again.

Big hi to dimitri, next time i'll beat you at pool ;)

Eddie S  (17 October 2004)

We were at Tsilivi in June 04 for two weeks and most nights were spent in Frank and Roxani's restaurant. It was excellent we are going back next year so look forward to seeing you then and more scrumptious meals!!!!! Well done to you all including Dimitri. Ann and Eddie

Sandra J  (14 October 2004)

My brother and I found that this was the best restaraunt in Tsilivi, the fish is to die for especially the Sea Bass that we had on our last night, the specials and the greek dishes were all FANTASTIC!! FRANK, ROXANI AND DEMITRI thank you very much. We will be back!! Ray and Sandra

David M  (06 October 2004)

we found the restaurant by the queue forming outside! as a chef myself i was interested to know what made them busy.good food, good service and the price was right!! we ate there for seven nights and thought it was brilliant, try all the specials and the greek dishes, FANTASTIC!! FRANK ROXANI AND DEMITRI thank you very much.
i'll be back!!

John M  (05 October 2004)

we ate here several times and were always made welcome by Frank and Dimitri VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED BY US

Jim D  (30 September 2004)

Great little place, cannot not fault it in any way, always busy even after 10pm.

Jair F  (27 September 2004)

Just returned from a 2 week break in Tsilivi (12th Sept - 26th Sept) and have to say this was by far the best restaurant in the resort, owned and run by Roxani and Frank. The restaurant is situated to the left of the (awful) Joker Bar on the main street. It is probbaly the smallest of all the restaurants and with this in mind you may have to queue to get a table. The owner Frank is also head waiter whilst his wife Roxani does all the cooking. The service is superb and the food has that personal homemade touch that all the other restaurants never had. If you like fresh fish it has probably the largest varied selection on its menu. The homemade Mosaico dessert is Superb! I would highly recommend this restaurant even though you may have to queue for 30 minutes, believe me I hate queuing but believe me the service/food and price are worth the wait.

Margaret C  (27 September 2004)

Just got back from Tsilivi this restaurant is one of the best it was difficult to stop going back. The garlic mushrooms are to die for and the service is great. You need to go early to get in.Prices are no dearer than other places and recommended this restaurant to everyone we met.

Gary F  (20 September 2004)

Eat here 3 times during the week. Food is still as good as ever, especiallly the "Sea Bream" special

Jean B  (09 August 2004)

This is still the best restaurant in Tsilivi. We had our wedding reception there on 23 July and really can not fault them. The food and service was excellent. Friends and family who had come to the wedding had to agree it was the best place to eat. There were 22 people to cater for at the same time, everybody's meal was cooked to perfection. We ate there several times our our two week holiday and can honestly say it was a pleasure. It is well worth the wait for a table during their busy periods. There is no doubt when we next return to Zante we will be first in the queque

Nicola   (24 July 2004)

Could not agree more with all the reviews; I loved this place. We were staying in an apartment just behind the restaurant so managed to time it well and never had to wait for a table. The food was by far the best I tasted in Tsilivi - at the same prices as most other restaurants - I loved the feta in the oven! We had to force ourselves to go elsewhere for a change but ended up there every second night. Can't wait to go back!

Colin S  (22 July 2004)

We visited all the 10/10 resturants from this site and voted Fiorentino the best. We ended up going five times. It is only a small resturant so you could easily walk past but well worth seeking out.To ensure you get a table you will need to arrive before 8:00 pm. This one definatly does not need a meeter greeter The food is excellent, try the lamb in the oven or pork hoffman. Great meals at great prices, we would recommend this to anyone

Neil R  (20 July 2004)

what an excellent little restaurant! the food was spot on and couldn`t
fault the service. After we discovered it we went every evening for the rest of the holiday . Highly recommended.

Sue W  (11 June 2004)

All these reviews are spot on!! We only found this place half way through our 2nd week but made a point of going again on our last night. We did have to wait 5/10 mins for a table but it was certainly worth it. Only small, so you could walk right past it, but it's between Joker's Bar and paradise penalties. Fried courgettes and aubergine's were excellent. Same prices as in most of the other restaurants we tried - give it a go!!!

Clare B  (30 May 2004)

Excellent Meals, Great with the Children.. Thanks to Frank, Demitri and Roxanne... Clare,Andrew,Christopher,James and Barry

Maria B  (27 May 2004)

The best food in Tsilivi. Here begining of May, so no queue.

Howard G  (19 May 2004)

Superb. The best we went to in Tsilivi.

Linda E  (05 April 2004)

for any of you looking for somewhere to eat during your stay in tsilivi you cannot beat the food at the fiorentino's the food is excellent. you most probably will have to queue to get in but the wait is well worth it. the service is also great. frank is very pleasant and polite and dimis really great. the best waiter in greece as his picture says. see you in may my son miss you loads.x

Sandra M  (26 October 2003)

Fiorentino's is the best restaurant in Tsilivi. It was the best 4 years ago on our first visit to Zante and is still the best! Try the Puigi, Lamb in the Oven, Rack of Lamb (that's really a leg of lamb!), cod fillet in beer batter, Stamna, Moussaka - the list goes on & on! Be prepared to queue for a table every night - it is worth it though. Thank you Frank for being the nicest, polite host & Dimis for making us laugh!

Jean M  (25 October 2003)

This is the best restaurant in Tsilivi. It is worth the wait for a table.

Andy N  (13 October 2003)

Before we went to Zante, we took the names of all the restaurants that achieved 10/10 and ate in most of them. I have to say that Fiorentino was out of this world. I can certainly recommend the battered squid as a starter at only 2.50 euros and any one of the main courses (beef stroganoff mmmmm). It's excellent value for money, it cost us no more than 30 euros for 2 starters, 2 main courses and a couple of drinks each (approx £22). By far the best restaurant!!!

Linda /  (02 October 2003)

We Ate Here Almost Every Night. The Service is top class. Frank And Dimis are great. The lamb Kleftiko is to die for, as are the greek potatoes. We are going back out in may and we know where we will be eating. PS Dimis Smile matches the service. We love you Dimis.

Earnshaw A  (25 September 2003)

this is by far the best taverna in tsilivi - the food is beyond words - we still dream of the "rack of lamb" or the "feta in the oven". the prices are very reasonable, there may be a "short" wait for a table, but believe me it is well worth it - we visited zante 2 years ago and only found this place on our second week, this time we ate here every night - frank we will be back (and dimis) - please reserve us a table for 2 weeks in september - do you do take-outs??? love angela, darren and zachx

Rachel C (14 September 2003)

We have just returned from 1 week in Tsilivi and ate here twice, after almost passing it by. The wait for a table at busy times is well worth it. The fried courgettes are the best that we've had in Greece and try the fresh fish, scrumptious. Franks prices are also extremely reasonable. w=We will definately be going again
