Hi guy's how you all doing??? Hope you've all had a good Christmas & New year!!! How is Nikos, Lefteris, Sakiz & Yourself all doing?? Have you been up too much??? We have had a quiet but good Christmas & new year eating lotts of chocolate & lazing about. It's very cold here in Lincoln at the minute & I am shattered from doing the garden doing a landscape project including our very own veg plott!! I am having a rest this year from racing the bike but have got into racing 1/8 scale petrol buggy's which is alot of fun when my car isn't breaking down on me.  Lou is fine but fed up with work but she has taken up card making & painting canvas's which she is enjoying lotts & she is also trying to sell for a little xtra pocket money (next holiday fund).

Athina restaurant is great..Really wicked food and the atmosphere is pretty mellow,very relaxed and one has the sea right there......well, almost...The staff do a great job there,very understaffed for the amount of customers they attract on a nightly basis.Hi to Anna,Robbie,Kerry,Nikos,Lefteris,and the dog GeeO(watever)

hi haveeaten at this restaurant for many years now from the friendly smile at the top of the street to the greeting you recieve at the entrance just astart to a wonderful experiance the food is of the highest quality and allways piping hot my friends experiment alot with different dishes but you will maybe remember me back in may every night seafood pasta but wow what a meal and what a price silly euro now dont get ideas it would be nice if it was the same price in may iremember one time in your restaurant it took a long time for the meals to arrive my friend was moaning about this but when ipointed out to him there was not a seat left in the place he shut up wishing you all well over the festive season see you in may 

hi anna, nikos, lefteris & sakiz, it's lovely to hear from you. we are both doing well thank you, pleased you liked the photos. we are back at work which is poo & i have done 7 nights of 12hr shifts & i'm now doing 7 days of 12hr shifts & as it's getting very cold here it makes them feel a very long 12hrs. lou is fine but like me she's not liking being back at work!!! she is getting few things ready for christmas buying the pressies & stuff. hope you are all well?? is athina now shut?? if so what do you all go & do till you re-open next yr?? if you can email me on my address i wrote on that shirt we gave you, as we got lefteris's & niko's mobile numbers but not there email address & it would be nice to keep in touch that way rather than using this public email system & boring others.well hope to speak to you all soon, take care of you all. thinking of you

hi guys had to do two emails as could not fit it all on one so i best make this short if i can!! again we just wanted to thank you for our lovely company & fantastic food and also for making our last nite special for my birthday it was a big suprise thank you. we hope to be back next year as we'll be having withdrawls of that chicken in pastry and maybe some more pool and chess. well hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a relaxing time for you all at christmas take care. thanks again guys hopefully speak soon.

Hi Guys, were back in the rainy UK now and also back at work so the holiday seems so long ago now we would however like to thank you so much for making it such a lovely holiday and being so kind to us both unfortunately we really need to go on a bit of a diet as Nikos & co kept cooking such exsquiste food (Chicken in pastry) that we just could not resist, so it's a bowl of lettuce leafs for our tea! Here are a few photos that we thought of sending you, the one with Si attempting to fish is a momento for Nikos just to prove although he did not get up in time to go with you to catch his fish of the day it wasn't one for trying!!! he he

This was our 4th time to Argassi in May 2006 but the first visit to Athina and will not be the last, good food, great service, what more can I say.

We ate here in May 2006 and had a great meal. I had Zakynthian Beef and my fiance had Beef Borque. The food was cracking - really tasty and lots of it. The price was reasonable, and the restaurant was clean and well laid out. I'd recommend a visit while you're in Argassi.

we have been to Argassi 4 times and eat all the time at Athena the Lamb kleftico is the best in Argassi ...I have 3 small children who enjoy the food there and i can honestly say that none of us has ever suffered from any type of stomach upset after eating there...sometimes the service can be a bit slow but that is usually the same for any popular restraunt try and get a table for about 9pm and you will find that you will have to wait because it is always full ..Its a shame that the people who eat in there on a regular basis do not use this site and defend a very popular restraunt against people who go on about a single night when things might have gone a little wrong for the staff...............KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FOR THOSE WHO APPRECIATE GOOD FOOD......................

I was at the table where you could see right into the men's toilet, and very few shut the door!  No-one washed their hands afterwards.  The place just felt dirty although it looked clean enough.  Hardly touched my food because of this, and the spinach pies were a bit stodgy.  Although the staff speak good English and understand what you are saying, but they don't understand what you mean if you complain.  They're not being awkward -- they just don't get the whole concept of hygiene.

me and my friends were on holiday in zante for 2 weeks this summer, and we ate at this restaurant 5 times. if u ask me, it was the best food I had in all this days(you should really try the kleftiko  ),good service and very nice and friendly staff. if I ever go back to zante I will go back to athina.

not because of the food i might add the zante beef was very tasty but more due to the position of our table, for one you could see right into the toilet which isnt the sort of thing you want especially when they dont shut the door. Also i'm sure most people that went recently will have noticed the puppy at the front, well this puppy cute as it is peed al over the floor, then a waitress cleaned it up with tissue and just carried on serving customers without washing her hands, i'm sorry but that is not good enough for me and when we complained to the guy outside he could not see what was wrong with this.

just our experiance but enough to put us of for good.

We ate there three times and enjoyed every meal staff excellent, food good on one occasion probably due to its popularity we waited over half an hour and were compensated with a full bottle of wine the next night

We liked this restaurant, the food was good and hot, the souvlaki was gorgeous.

Tried this restaurant the last night of our holiday and had a good meal. The service was a little slow, but quite a relaxed pace.

this is the best restaurant in town. we eat there 4 times in the two weeks and each time it got better. our party was mixed some liked greek some plain english all loved it. GO THERE. it very good

Me and my boyfriend were in Argasi for a week we found this restaurant onthe second night and ate there 3 times. The food we lovely realy recommend the garlic Swordfish if you like fish and they do a good moussaka. The service was good and our waitress was really friendly, I recommend eating here.

We only had lunch here but it was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was great too although we were the only ones in there at the time.

Oh my goodness. What a hell hole. The staff were dire, didn't even make eye contact with us. The food was the pits. They tried to redeem themselves at the end by giving out a free shot with the bill (tip please!!!). Awful.

Well I think Nicola was too kind, it was worse than that. We ate there 25 June 2003 and it was the pits. I had a kind of kebab worse than anything I could pick up from any UK kebab takeaway but the real trophy of the day goes to my partners steak. She decided to try their fillet steak and whatever it was fillet steak it wasn't. It was a bit like stewing steak (but tougher!) and it was covered in an acrid smelling sauce that burnt the lips straight off of your face! After one bit and plenty of spluttering and gasping for water my partner sent the steak back and asked for a proper fillet steak without the toxic sauce. When it came back it was obvious they had just run it under the tap. By now now the waiters had decided they no longer spoke English and sought refuge in looking confused and shrugging their shoulders. Eventually a waiter bought us over a drink each as an apology which tasted awful (p*ss mixed with worcester sauce anyone?). A night to remember for all the wrong reasons!

We had the worst meal in the whole fortnight here. I definitely wouldn't eat there again if my life depended on it. The service was crap too.

We found this towards the end of our 2 weeks and visited 3 times, best restaurant in Argassi. Had the chicken in pastry - delicious, stuffed Dover Sole - mouthwatering and mixed grill. Very good did us a children's chicken a le creme even though not on the menu. Service excellent, very friendly and not too pushy. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

By far the best that we visited, if you're really hungry try the mixed grill. Service excellent even when busy, friendly, meals even better 110 out of 100. Prices excellent. Definitely the best we found during our 2 week stay.

We liked this restaurant, the food was good and hot, the lamb kleftiko flambe was just gorgeous. It was just down a side street from our apartments, nice and handy.

I was dissapointed with the food quality in this restaurant.

We tried several restaurants during our weeks stay and were disappointed by most but once we found this place we couldn't stay away. It is ideal for couples seeking a bit of quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the main road and it was by far the most "traditional" style of restaurant/taverna we found as opposed to most others which seemed to cater for families, traditonal English tastes and Sky Sports fanatics. My wife is vegetarian and was pleased at the numerous options available. She especially enjoyed the vegetable crepes main course. I loved the meatballs in sauce starter and we both agreed the garlic bread starter was delicious. If you like this place also try the Stars restaurant on the main road towards Zante Town.
