Eleana Hotel

Accommodation in Argassi

Our first time in Greece and I have to say that it was excellent. Both George and Dana the owners were extremely friendly just like your mom and dad. Angela their daughter was bubbly and charming and nothing was too much trouble even though she always seemed to be at work, not sure I could be this happy doing that amount of hours. Dorethy in the sanck bar makes excellent omletes and even though she lost her voice for 5 days continued to have us all in stitches. Tasos, well what can I say about him, except he is a wonderful guy. He even turned up early for work so I could thrash him at pool across the road at the Beer Acadamy. He was always cheerful and a little colourful but he taught us some fantastic Greek sayings and his slippery nipple(cocktail) is not to be missed. All I can say if you are going to stay is I envey you because we had a great time and can not wait to return. I will share a little secret with you all I actualy got quite emotional when it was time to leave. We have kept in touch will them all and consider them to be great friends. Just remember you are not in England and things are always going to be different. If you are going I would appreciate it if you could say hello from Mark and Wendy and that we will be in touch soon.

Forgot to add we liked it so much we're going back this year and cant wait.

Sorry all these comments don't match the staff we met at the hotel when we stayed in Argassi in 1999 Angela and George are brilliant. And anyone who's been to Greece should know that the breakfast only consists of Bread rolls, cheese and Ham most places are the same. Don't let some of the other comments put you off. The Eleana is great and so are the staff.

Hotel is in a good location, close to the resort centre. We had one of the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the road can be a bit noisy during the day (music from the beer academy over the road) and at night with all the mopeds. Breakfast was appalling bread rolls with cheese and ham slices everyday, we ate out most mornings take a bit more money to cover that. The female staff are very friendly especially Angela (receptionist) and Dorothy (poolside bar - food very good). George the owner was a pretty glum chap never really spoke. The rooms were cleaned 6 times a week and the swimming pool was very clean probably why you get turfed out at 6pm. Used the hotel bar a couple of times, cocktails were a rip-off.

Thanks for the comments Chris. It sounds like a bit of a nightmare hotel. I will have to try and stay on the right side. Still my family and I generally get on with most people. The sun and the relaxation should make us oblivious to most hassles. Cheers.

The unwritten rules are as follows; No swimming in the pool or be at pool side after 6pm prompt.George will kick you out. No food/drinks at pool side from outside other wise you be be 'told off' by snackbar attendant. No food in room or you will be told off by cleaner. No getting comfy or trying to move furniture in bar area to sit with friends or you will be told off by owner. Dont leave your sunbed with towels on unattended or you may come back to find them on grass area with a non resident on your sunbed.(pool open to all, annoying when you have paid for facilities and can't get sunbed) Dont come in too late at night, or early morning especially DON'T make ANY noise.Your key will be waiting for you on reception as though they are waiting up for you. Watch reception area.Angela has a tendency to wander off leaving keys to rooms unattended.!! Make sure you pay for drinks at bar when you have them.Tassos has a tendency to make his'complimentary drinks'rule up to suit his moods. If making calls in room/reception dont spend too long on phone or you will be asked who you are ringing and why even though you are paying for the call. Any more info required, please ask.The hotel is fine for kids including some lilos you can use in the pool curtesy of hotel.Apart from the above, hotel is lovely-just the staff.ENJOY.

very clean but petty rules make you feel like your back school.breakkfast appalling. can be very noisy if your in the wrong room.noisy late night bar right oposite.rooftop resturant (also noisy)on one side. lovely pool. just at top end of main drag.close to all the bars, resturants, shops.lovely place to go but don't recomend this hotel.

Chris I

Hoel great location ,very clean with a good pool which is cleaned daily.Poolside bar serves snacks but beware the wrath of Dorothy if you bring any food or water from outside(cheaper from superMarket next door)Basically if your face fits in this hotel you'll be fine otherwise Angela the receptionist will be a cow and George the owner will compltely blank you,he is a very ignorant man.Dana his wife is lovely though.BEWARE Thassos the MARRIED barman if you are female.George has had many compliants about him in the past but has not done anything about him.Complain about anything at your peril.Try Karen the rep instead.

Chris I

The hotel itself is excellant very clean with a good pool.Good location for shops, restaurants & bars butcan get very noisy esp if you have a room overlooking pool, you will get noise from Factory as it backs on to hotel pool. Also there is a dog barking constantly from somewhere which is annoying.

The hotel is situated far enough away from the main nightlife, but close enough to walk to The owners are very friendly and the swimming pool is said to be the cleanest on the island and is very well looked after, the rooms are cleaned 6 days a week but not Sunday. There are saftey deposit boxes at reception. Any other imformation required?
