Liked this bar very much and is a great place to watch the sunset. Great atmosphere and even a free ride up to the bar on a small buggy. i would only recommend sitting on the back seat if you have a strong grip. we only came here on one occasion as it wasnt open for the full time we were there but it is a really relaxed place.

David E

Great Bar, however, we were disappointed to see it closed on the 12th of October when we arrived. Obviously closed early for the winter.  The owner was sat in Michaelos on the 4 occasions we were there.

Helen B

excellent bar! :) woo! miss u yiannis n nikos! hope to come and work with you soon! xxx

Paul T

By far the nicest bar in kalamaki, we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, surroundings, and the general aatmosphere around the place!!!! Paul and Laura xx- Redditch, West Midlands

Dave B

WENT BACK BACK TO THE CAVE BAR TWICE ON THIS HOLIDAY ALL I CAN SAY IS GREAT

Norma B

Once again Yannis made us very welcome.  This is the best bar in Kalamaki

Sarah A

We went here back in June for a drink and was a nice place. We came back yesterday and found that it was closed on the days we went past -not too sure why.

Lesley S

Our first time at this bar, and for a wedding too!!! Stunning location, and a very attractive bar area. Lovely for a romantic evening watching the sunset. We will be trying it again next year

Matt W

great place, not as far as it seems to walk but we got the free buggy ride up. we only went ont the 1night but wish we went everynight.nice view ontop of the turret, shame our photos are to dark as it was getting on at night. Not open in the daytime though which was a disapointment.

Well worth the short trek up the hill-you can get a lift up in a mini moke - and down again when you have had a couple!

This has got to be the best bar for its views over Kalamaki, sunset from here is awesome.

The surroundings and the atmosphere are excellent

A 'must visit' for anyone in Kalamaki

Brain &

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge Wonderful location, make the effort to visit this bar (take the mini moke on the side road by the Mustang Bar - to get back, stand in front of the light at the bar entrance & the moke will pick you up). Magic sunset & very atmospheric. Ideal chill out spot with music to match.

Cath J

A must do whilst in kalamaki. Nothing quite like it. take the "buggy" ,get driven up the hill and enjoy your drink. Cocktails lovely and the view is wonderful from the turret as the sun goes down. Well worth visiting.

Caroline, G

The view here is fantastic!! If you get the mini moke up to the cave before 8 o'clock and take your drink up to the turret. then you can watch the sun go down over Kalamaki. It is well worth the journey. Drinks are a little dearer but you soon forget when you have such a brilliant view. The service is brilliant as well, nothing is too much trouble!!

Leanne N

cave bar is the best bar i have ever been to in my life it is really romantic and the views are brill

Still one of our favourite places to unwind after a tiring day in the sun! Excellent place to watch the sunset!

Island T

The Cave Bar is still up there with the chilled out best, but even the ride up the hill in the buggy is a bit special this year.  Dave has got some serious driving competition now with their new lady driver---the place just gets better!!!

Sandra L

You have to go here….no must, may or meant to!

It's great!  Go to enjoy the sunsets, the cocktails, the service (and tip well).

I met loads of people who kept meaning to go and got side tracked… after they saw the pictures they regretted it sooo much so be clever and get there early

Lots of love to Nikos and Yiannis, hope you are both well….so sorry I won't be able to come out this year.  Thank you again for all your help and laughs last year…

Hopefully see you soon  for a cranberry juice

PS.  Send my love to Labros and Tasos too …..Yasooo!!

I am currently putting together a list of acts that may be suitable for various venues in Zante for summer season 2006. I have most of musicians/singers/hosts and am currently looking for speciality acts. While I was working in Zante last year I caught the brilliant close up magic act of a very, very funny Scottish magician, I think his name was Paul and he was based in either Kalamaki or Laganas. At the time I met him for a drink (Cave Bar in Kalamaki although I dont think he was working this venue) he was doing 'freelance' entertainment work around the various bars and hotels in Kalamaki and Laganas. I had his contact details but have managed to lose them.... If anyone knows this guy, please point him in my direction or send me his details. Thanks, Dean.

David B

After hearing   about the cave bar we walked up the main road and jumped into the mini moke that  runs you up the hill...we were not disappointed the views were WOW !!! Excellent place to have a quiet drink  with superb views. Will definetly visit again next year

Tracy+dean G

What a great place the cave bar is great views over kalamaki and great to watch the sun go down very relaxing place. This is a bar you should visit whilest staying in kalamaki.

Paula H

The Cave Bar is a lovely spot for chilling out.  It's down the far end of Kalamaki from the airport end. You can get a mini moke lift up or walk up if you're feeling energetic but it's only 2 mins in the free buggy!  Sunset is gorgeous up there with fab views from the turrett.  There is nothing more relaxing than sipping on a cocktail and watching the sun set and then the lights of kalamki & laganas twinkling away in the dark.  The music was good and alot of locals seem to go there at the weekends which is a good sign!  It made a pleasant change from the other bars down on the main strip.  The staff very nice, especially an english girl (not sure of her name but she hurt her foot and was limping!)  And the guy who drives the buggy was a nice friendly chap too!  Definitely worth a visit!

Tracey M

Great bar for just chilling out, relaxed with great cocktails and good views.

Anna W

The Cave Bar was brill! It had a lovely, chilled out atmosphere, and the cocktails were amazing. I'm missing my Honey Girl cocktail already, and we've only been home a day!

Tony t

yiannis, paul getting emotional he was sobbing his little heart out, bless his little cotton socks.

but he had more tears in his eyes the night we took him back to his room a little drunk (pauls face).
(mine and johns faces)
the reason he looks sombre is that its nearly sunset and he is scared of the dark.

Yiannis M

Here is a picture taken 3 weeks ago of my mate Paul from Bradford getting emotional!  Who can blame him?

Angela

We had a lovely time at the cave bar. it was very romantic. for me and my other half.

the views are fantastic. I highly recomend this place for couples wanting a nice quiet place to chill out. When i came to zante I thought it would be all loud bars etc but the cave bar is not like that at all. its nice to get away from the noise of the bar below for an hour.

Pete A

must be 1 of the best views on the island, great sunset from in the turet and the cave is so cool at night time, thanks to all the staff for the fun and ice cold beers.

CAVE BAR SUNSET JULY 2004.

Ian C

Great Bar, really special cocktails, but be careful when going up the steps to the little turret. Waitresses wont carry drinks up there. Discovered why when my girlfriend tripped up, twice, and that was before the cocktail. Great views though, you must go.

Siobhan P

Such a lovely place with great views over Kalamaki. Worth a visit in the day, but also at night to get the best views. Lovely cocktail menu too. The buggy ride up to it was great fun too!

Jordan M

Gary L

Defo one of the best bars in Kal. Enjoyed many relaxing nights there towards end of Sept. They now have a few gas heaters to sit under when evenings get a bit cooler (at end of season). Well Recommended. Look forward to visiting again.

John A

TO DAMONE THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP I WILL DEFINATLY GO AND CHECK IT OUT THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND THERE WEB SITE LOOKS GREAT

Damone G

To Andrew Randerson, The ideal restaurant for you would be zakanoah. Its a nice romantic setting not too far from the bars but also quiet, in fantastic surroundings, great food and service. Not sure where the waterpark is but you get a free bus with your ticket.Kalamaki is the best place to be in Zante with laganas 5 mins away if you want the life or vasilikos beaches 15 mins away by far the best beaches on the island but too quiet for a whole holiday.Av a good un.

Damone G

Cracking little bar in an ideal setting, take your camera and dont forget to tip your driver!

Stella P

After reading the comments before my holiday, I felt the place was overrated. The setting is lovely and the barmen are nice guys, but it's not the end of the world if you don't have time to visit this place.

Andrew R

thank you danny for your reply i will check them out when i get there

Danny M

For me the CAve Bar is the best place for a drink, and the Zakanoh restaurant is by far the nicest setting for a meal. Not the cheapest but certainly not expensive and the food is lovely.
Sorry don't know about the water park.

Andrew R

K H

Yannis, the smooth-talking bar-steward at The Cave Bar will serve you Sex on the Beach. But be warned girls, he is no English Stallion. In fact, he isn't even a gentleman, but fortunately his memory will pass as quickly as a Summer Breeze.

Frank D

WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT.YOU WOULD NEVER THINK SUCH A GREAT PLACE EXISTED UP A HILL IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.THE RIDE UP WAS A RELIEF AS I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE MUST FOR THE WALK.YOU GET PICKED UP AND DROPPED OFF WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR DRINKS.MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE CAMERA.THE IRISH COFFEE WAS THE BEST ONE YET

Yiannis M

WELL WORTH A VISIT TO THE CAVE BAR,MAKE SURE YOU GET THERE FOR THE SUNSET,AS THE VIEWS ARE FANTASTIC,TAKE YOUR CAMERA!!!

Steven M

Such a beautiful bar - such a shame it was so empty on the 3 nights we went. Hope it gets busier again. Oh and try the Cave Lady cocktail!!!!!!

Spamos

This has got to be the best bar on the island. I don't think you could ask for a better location. Try a Blue Hawaiian cocktail which is superb.

Sandra P

Lovely bar, nice atmosphere, nice setting but what do you have to do to get another round in. Like most bars they offer a table service, but whats the point of this if the waiting staff rarely bother to check if you want more drinks? We had one drink but got fed up of waiting, so we left.

Matthew B

Love the cave bar - it's an unusual place, but very cool. Have never experienced a bar like it before. It can be very romantic if there's 2 of you. Sit up in the turret and enjoy a cocktail , whilst admiring the view of Zante below. The free transport is a nice touch too and the guy who drives is always very charming.

James D

This place is simply the best and Nico and his team are great - really make you feel welcome!!The whole atmosphere is very chilled very relaxed. The gardens are fab - It simply is just a great place to chill out after a hard day sleeping on the beach!

Made our holiday!

Julianne H

What a wonderful bar! Once we discovered it we always went to round off the day....and propped up the bar all night! I can't remember ever loving a place so much, and I've been in a fair few in my time. We've only been home a couple of days and I miss it already. Giannis is gorgeous - a greek God of a barman - and made me an indecent amount of cocktails :) Dave and Richard drive the MiniMoke which is trememdous fun, they're both lovely too. I can't praise this place highly enough, and I can't wait to get back! We invented a new cocktail with Giannis - ask him for a 'Caretta Caretta' Yia mas!

Lynsey B

What a wonderful way to relax, the atmosphere of this bar is wonderful, and the views from the turret are a must, especially if you can catch the sunset.
