Restaurants in Kalamaki

This place is a bit different and has food onthe menu you won't find anywhere else and will want to come back for. However the service was appalling - our drinks arrived long after our main course and finding the waitress at any point was very difficult. Lovely setting but take mosquito repellent!

Great food, agree that the Kleftico is superb, nice staff if your' looking for a change to Mikaelos'- which for me is still the best - anywhere in the islands then this place is well worth trying - staff are good people

the best restaurant we visited in our time in Kalamaki - stuffed squid was amazing, the risotto was delicious and the service was lovely - genuinely friendly. A little more expensive than the others we tried, but definitely worth it.

This wasn't on our list due to the low rating but after our day in Olympia we wanted somewhere close. All we can say is every one is missing one of the best restaurants in Kalamaki. The Lamb Kleftiko in filo pastry was superb. Service was a little slow considering it was fairly quiet and Louise asked for vanilla and chocolate ice cream with no nuts but was given chocolate parfait. The waitress (manager? Australian/New Zealand girl) was very apologetic however and knocked it off the bill. Watch out for the complimentary Ouzo when you first go in and also the liqueur that comes with the bill - tastes like cough medicine, blows your socks off!!!

We didn't have this on our researched list of restaurants to go to and, as with a lot of people, unles you take the walk up to Mikaelos you probably don't know it exists. However, try it, we had a very good, relaxed meal. I slobbed out on some sort of burger but a McDonalds it wasn't. Two hunks of beed with some sort of cheesy stuff mixed in with bacon on top, following the aubergine salad. My wife had swordfish which again was excellent. Pity we found this place late on in the holiday.

Spent most of our two weeks eating at Petrino's. Fantastic food, especially the traditional meals. Thank you Barbra for always giving us a laugh!

Darren M  (28 June 2002)

My wife and i had a great time at the Petrino, perfect for a relaxed friendly evening. The staff were humorous and efficient and the food wonderful. I can never go past the lobster, mouthwatering! drop in and give them a smile for me. cheers. Darren Major.

We ate here three nights out of six and had different dishes each time - all were excellent. We could not fault the food or the service and can't wait to go back

I loved Petrinos everything was excellent. You must go there if you are visiting kalamaki

Leonie D  (07 May 2002)

The Petrino experience was fantastic, the waitress kept me laughing the whole night, the food was nothing less than sensational and worth waiting a short time for, everyone in the restaurant was enjoying themselves, from customers to staff.

We visited Zakynthos on our honeymoon last year as part of a tour of Greece. We found the food to be fresh and mouth watering! The service was second to none. We had our entrees within 10 minutes of placing our order eventhough it gets busy at night. The staff especially the manager/owner made us feel welcomed and relaxed. I would recommend the seafood platter. My wife and I thought we were hungry but even we could not get through the lavish servings of seafood. Prices were very resonable considering the quality and quantity of food served to us. Overall we had a great time and visited the Petrinos nearlly every day during our 2 week stay.

Cheryl   (07 September 2001)

Service awful - we needed to have had our playing cards with us! Food OK though when it eventually arrived.

Ekke K  (23 August 2001)

Kierrä kaukaa!!!!!!! Huijaavat hinnoissa ja laadusa. Epäkohteliaat tarjoilijat lisäävät omiaan laskuun ja ruuan laatu heikko. Väittävät ulkopaistia fileeksi

Steve H  (08 August 2001)

Meal was not bad, but expensive. Don't waste your money on the Sea Food Jumbo, it cost 12000 drcs for two persons and was'nt very good. The service was very, very, very slow,OK, if you've got all night to stop in one place. Harborne and Walker Family

Samantha M  (27 July 2001)

I totally agree with Flip Flip! I also had an awful meal, which was also cold when served and the tast of it was awful. I would never go back there again! I thought it was quite pricey too when comparing it with Mikalos.

Flip F  (27 July 2001)

Looking at the other coments this must be a good place 2 eat, but i had a pants of a meal. The starter was cold, The main meal was not only cold, but the smell was gut renching. i did pay for the meal and the service was good.Maybe it was a one off, but do try it.

Dale D  (18 July 2001)

We spent 2 weeks visiting all the restaurants such as merlis, Parthenon, Lighthouse etc. etc. and found Petrino on our next-to-last night. This was a shame as we'd have ate there every night if we'd known aabout it a little earlier. Fantastic Menu, Great service, friendly waiting staff and a good place for a quiet meal for 2, give it a whirl, I know I am in 3 weeks! yippee!
