Hi Claire, spent a week at the beach house at the end of May, and there is no sand on the beach, just pebbles and stones.Hope this helps, im sure you will enjoy it anyway!

   Can anyone tell me, is the sand back on the beach in front of the beach house apartments ???

we have stayed at beach house twice and we love the bar, usually we get out there about this time of year, but as one of our boys is taking GCSE's we can not go until August, But I am so looking forward to drinking cocktails in the bar, my boys think it is great there. WE  are really looking forward to seeing Vickie and Spiros , they probably don't remember us, Roll on the 1st of august

Yes got to Agree Dot.  This year we went to another Greek island (Naxos) for our main holiday. Not long after coming back we both decided we needed a true holiday and booked a late deal to Alykes. I have never been mid september and as much as I admit we got lucky with the weather it would not have mattered. The Virago bar was by a long shot the most popular bar in the resort. By 11 every night when all the other bars were dead the Virago was buzzing and busy. Vikki Spiros you should be proud of what you have created in the Virago. Came to Zante 6th Sept05,stayed at the Apollo across the road,but always called in the Virago for an hour or two.Vikki&Spiros always made the four of us very welcome,two realy nice people,very polite to everyone,also served very nice drinks plus the odd free one's

Superb bar, excellent cocktails (generous measures), and Spiros is the friendliest barman i've ever met. We had a great time in Alykes and Virago was the perfect place to start/end the evening. Keep up the good work Spiros!

Excellent drinks great music and the kids loved the cocktails as well as us .Vicky and Spiros made us feel as welcome as every other year .

Good food , good service and an excellent menu . It was as we remembered

only down side is its a bit to far out from all the other bars but well worth the walk

Nice bar nice cocktails! Try the Alternative Virago - a pink fruity creamy drink with loads of calories!!! Yum. Spiros very friendly, and comes round with "A little Yammas" shot glass each night.

Dear Vicky and Spyros, just sobered up from our holiday in May, wow what lovely weather we had. Can you please order some more sunshine for us all on 3rd July, Simon still worried that I have planned something drastic for his birthday on 6th July, however we do intend to spend it in the best bar in Alykes THE VIRAGO BAR!!! Hi everyone! Have finally woken up & gotten on-line! We are about to open at the end of this week. Have made a few (minor!) changes, see if you can spot them when you come over! We're gearing up for the new season & Beach House (I & II) are freshly painted ready to receive their first guests on Thursday. Marzipan is still top cat & can't wait for his crisps! We have been going to Zakynthos every year for about 10 and always try to stay in the Beach House. We came last year with all the family and Spiros and Vicky made us very welcome and didnt bat an eyelid at Simon's red and white hair do (it was middle of World Cup). To answer previous question about Paradise Pool. It is magical, very clean, good kids area, nice sunbeds, friendly staff (especially Christo). The full english breakfast is the best! Just to let you know Spiros and Vicky we are due back on 3rd July, and one of us will be celebrating a big birthday on the 6th so get the cocktail shaker ready!! Hi spiros and vikki we have just booked to come out again on the 10th july 03 cant wait. I will be staying in the paradise, mum and dad in beach house 1 and brother and his wife and sister and her husband in the sydney house. We couldnt all fit in the same block. Never mind they are all close enough. Does anyone know what the pool at the paradise is like? Bye
