We did the shipwreck and blue caves trip on Tuesday 28th July 2009. We all had a fantastic morning and the trip was really good value for money with excellent commentary by the Captain of the boat.

We will be definately doing the afternoon trip to see the turtles on our next visit. I also purchased a couple of T-Shirts that were of good quality. I recommend these excursions to all that visit Zakynthos.

To Captain Spiros

We had a fantastic time on the trip to the Blue Caves and Smugglers Cove.  It's great to see someone who loves their job and is so enthusiastic about life and Zante!  Wouldn't have missed this for the world.  Got some spectacular photos.  Saw spectacular sites and swimming in the gorgeous water was amazing.  Would have done the trip to see the turtles but we didn't have time.  These trips are so popular everyone is talking about them.  People shouldn't miss out and should get along to the harbour to book your trip as soon as you arrive so you don't miss out!  You were so lovely and told us a lot about Zante whilst we were there and we all had a great time.  I thought i'd be sea sick but I wasn't at all.  Our daughter even had a shot driving the boat.

To everyone - DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS TRIP PLEASE - IT REALLY WILL MAKE YOUR HOLIDAY.

WOW What a trip. We went on Wednesday 29th july 2009 a very very hot day.

The best trip we have been on abroad. Friendly, helpful. I went with my daughter,my mum (74) and my friend and her two daugthers. We were well looked after with the kids sitting with Captian Spiros and all the ladies taking turns sitting with him steering the boat, including my mum. He gave mu mum a hat and umbrella when it got hot, Everybody was offered hats and drinks to go in the cool box. Children had life jackets and sat up with captain Spiros. We saw amazing things, don't want to tell you all about everything as we don't want to spoil it for you. You will not be dissappointed It was worth every penny and finished our holiday on a high. We booked at Tsilivi Harbour, better than Tour Operator trips.
I want to tell you about every detail but I can't it was just too good to even know where to start. It was a lady's birthday the day we went and Captain ~Spiros made it special for her when we went to Turtle Beach. Singing and Sparkling wine. On the way home, what a laugh, it was meant to be a half day trip leaving at 1.30pm and we didin't get back till 7pm ish
Definitely go again....Please go........

Excellent trip....
We booked via the stand on the way to Tsilivi beach. There is also another at Tsilivi harbour.
We did the Blue Caves and Shipwreck trip and absolutely loved it!
There were four of us, two teenagers and two adults.

Spiros and his wife booked us a taxi from our hotel to the harbour at no extra cost to us....and gave us a lift back to the hotel after the trip too! Couldn't have been more helpful.

We went on Wednesday 15th July & absolutely loved it. Spiros is so knowledgeable & friendly.
The trip was the best I've ever been on. Well worth the money & the area covered is brilliant.
The caves are amazing, Spiros also really knows his stuff! He made it really enjoyable and fun. He got people up to "steer" the boat....not that they really were doing much! :D

The actual trip consisted of:
Safety and rules....Spiros told us of the rules on the boat....no shoes, no putting hands out of the boat, no standing up etc. I was quite nervous before setting sail but once we got going, it was brilliant!
Sailing to the Shipwreck beach, on the way Spiros told us about the history of Zante and pointed out features of the coastline.
At the Shipwreck beach: Be warned, it is not sand but tiny stones/pebbles and they really hurt your feet! Put your shoes on! Spiros told us the history of the Shipwreck and took pictures for us etc. We spent about 45 minutes there, were no other boats or people there....we had the place to ourselves!
We then stopped for an hour or so at a harbour (can't remember the name!) where people could swim and/or get refreshments etc. He explained the history of the harbour.
Back on the boat to the blue caves. They were amazing! We went in every one.....felt sorry for the people on the bigger boats nearby who couldn't get even close, due to the size of the boats. Every cave we went in, Spiros explained about the features of the cave and the history behind the names of each. The most special was the one where if you put your hand in the water, it looks blue. Someone demonstrated by jumping in....good photo opportunity.
On the way back to Tsilivi harbour Spiros explained more about Zante and the neighbouring island of Kefalonia.....and also cruised near the beach, tooting his horn and waving!
Throughout the trip Spiros and his crew (1 other man) constantly picked litter from out of the sea and on the beaches etc. It really showed he cares about his island.

I'd heard the trip with the turtles is also excellent but  unfortunately we didn't do that one with Spiros, maybe one day!

There really were no downsides to the trip for us....can't recommend it highly enough!

All in all, it was the best trip we've ever been on while on holiday....everyone on the boat really enjoyed it!

Thank you to Spiros, his wife and crew!

Thank you Captain Spiros for yet another wonderful trip on your fantastic boat.  We went on the trip to Turtle Island and St. Nicholas' Banana Beach and it was truly wonderful.  The highlight of our holiday.  The weather was glorious, the company on the boat was great and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  If you have a chance go on this trip it is well worth it and will be something you will always remember.  We look forward to seeing you again soon Captain Spiros and to another trip on your boat.

Thank you so much.

We would like to say Thank You to Captain Spiros and his team for making our trip to Keri Caves/Turtle Island so special. It was a truly memorable experience ( not to be missed ) Alan got to swim in the caves.Women and children got a turn at steering the boat.Captain Spiros made the children on board feel at ease and even plaited some of the little girls hair much to the delight of their parents.Truly Spectacular.14th July 2009

Hiya, Me and 3 friends are coming to Zante at the end of August.

We're staying in Laganas which makes things a bit difficult as Captain Spiros is in tsilivi. Do we have to book the trip or can we just  turn up in the morning?

Any help would be great thankyou

PLEASE BEAWARE OF IMITATIONS......My name is Ian and I worked with Captain Spiros for many years on the beach in Tslivi  I have become aware of tourists been told that they are booking for Captian Spiros trips whrn they are NOT infact the LEVANTE tours... Please beawere if you want to go on the famous and best trip on the island please make sure that you ask for Captain Spiros LEVANTE speed boat, the best way to do this is to go to Tslivi harbour anyday and speak to his lovely wife annalise, please keep an eye out for the yellow Levante T-Shirts... Its a shame that tourists are been told that they are booking for the Captains trips when it is not the real thing. Thanks Ian

Fantastic excursions by an extremely knowledgable and fun living legend in Captain Spiros.

click to enlarge My Family and i travelled on the afternoon excursion to turtle island banana beach and the kiri caves on 30 june which was a treat for my daughter whose 19th birthday it was,and whilst on turtle island spiros sprung a beautiful suprise for my daughter by announcing to the passengers of our celebration and producing a drink to toast Laura,as we all sang out happy birthday to her i could see the delight on her face which i will treasure forever, but it wasnt only this which will live with me forever its the whole trip and the visit to the caves and swimming with my son in there, and meeting fellow holiday makers all sharing the same experience including the guys from stoke one of whom was on this trip for the 14th time so that tells you what a great trip this is,im only sorry we returned home shortly after and did not have time to go on the morning trip, but captain spiros deserves particular mention entertaing his guests and allowing all the children and my daughter to steer the boat it was well worth the money great value and a great guy long live captain spiros.

Tracey M          10/10

Top Class what more can we say!!!! Capt Spiros and his mate were great we went to the blue caves and shipwreck, the weather was perfect the half day excursion was just brilliant and the only down side was due to cloudy weather our trip was postponed by two days so we did not have time to do the turtle trip. But will certainly do it next time we go xx

well what can i say!!

another year doing both trips with the one and only spiros kaponis, both trips were amazing as expected.

me and my partner took my parents out to tsilivi for their first time abroad this year and got them to come on this trip.. after going on the first (shipwreck and blue caves trip) with him they were begging for more and couldn't wait to do the turtle trip!!!

all of us really enjoyed it and spiros is a great great man, he lets women and children steer the boat, makes everyone feel welcome and goes out of his way to get to know every single person who goes with him on his trips.

captain spiros knows so much knowledge and information of the island and shares this with each passenger, he will stop the boat for anyone if anyone wants to see something or asks about something they see on the trip.

these trips are amazing and worth every penny!! the trips last half a day so your not on a crammed boat that takes a whole day to see the same thing and spiros gets to the shipwreck before anyone else...
the turtle trip is amazing also you will always see a turtle if not more with spiros.. we saw 7-8 this year and spiros will give everyone plenty of time to see them!

book with him and do one trip i promise you that you will not regret it and will want to do a next trip with him!

thankyou kaponis family for making our holiday!!!

We went only on one of Spiros trips, the blue caves.
First we were told by our delegate, that there's no other way for these trips, other than with our travel agency. Luckily we have found where Spiros harbours. First, we weren't sure, but after we were on the boat and the trip started :) it felt great. I could even touch the rocks in the Blue Caves ! that's how close you will get. My girlfriend even had a chance to drive his boat :)
But we have sadly booked the trip for turtles with our agency :( so I'm little bit sorry... I think it might have been a lot better with Spiros...
and if you will go with his ship, you'll find out why ladies have ponytails :) and maybe even why some men have them :)

You'll definetely have fun with this guy.

We both realy enjoyed the trip and want to thank you for the trip !

The Czech couple with ponytails :)

Would definately recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see the shipwreck & the blue caves!! Captain Spyros just adds something extra special to the trip. Its both fun & informative! With the smaller boat you get right up onto the beach at Smuggler's Cove & you go right into the caves! (something you wouldn't get with a standard trip!) Its that good that we are planning to go back to Tsilivi next year & hopefully try his other trip to the south of the island to see the turtles. Worth every penny!!!!!!

Andy R          10/10

Went on the morning speedboat excursion to the shipwreck and caves with Captain Spiros, and would like to thank him and his crew for such a great trip.  Would recommend the Levante excursions over any holiday rep promoted boat trip as Spiros' boat only takes around 20 or so passengers max, making it a more relaxed and personalised tour and allowing access right into the caves that the larger commercial tour boats cant get anywhere near.  You also get to and away from smugglers cove before any other boats arrive.

Went on both trips with Spiros.  The shipwreck, blue caves and turtle spotting.  This isn't your average formal tour.  This is a friendly, personal experience provided by a man who loves his island.  Totally recommended.

Bill O          10/10

Another great trip with Captain Spiros. This time south to see the turtles and Keri caves. Would recommend both trips 10/10. He even took time out to warn some idiots who were overloading a peddleo some 300/400 meters frome shore, of the danger they were in. I believe this shows how strongly he feels about the saftey of anyone enjoying the sea around Zante.

Jake25c C          10/10

Monday 8th June 2009 took Captain Spiros's LEVANTE boat trip from Zakynthos harbour!  We were 4 adults and 2 toddlers age 3 and 4 years.  It was the Blue Caves trip which left 8.30am and back just after 1.00pm.  Although 40 Euros each adult we managed to get the children for free and although I felt initially quite expensive I can definitley recommend it and would do it again!  Captain Spiros and his mate were fantastic! Really informative, helpful and a very clean boat!  The children adored it and they even steered the boat many times!! It was such fun and a really good day to look back on!  Thankyou Spiros!!!

Corinne B          10/10

Captain Spiros offers an amazing boat trip experience.  Me, my fiance and step dad went on his boat but unfortunatly we did not get to go to the shipwrek due to poor weather conditions.  Regardless to say it did not ruin the experience and Captain Spiros still made the whole experience fun.  Captain Spiros comes highly recormended by me and my family and i will most definatly be returning to Zante and going on many more of his boat trips.  Thank you

Nigel L          10/10

Took both trips to the shipwreck and turtle spotting with Captain Spiros and his wonderful boat named levante, this is our 2nd time with Spiros and on both occassions, he has given us trips to remember including dolphins, turtles, the caves and the shipwreck. Without any hesitation I would recommend these trips and also if you have children get them on board as he gets them involved and lets them drive the boat alot at high speeds.

Many thanks Spiros from the party of 12 at tht Tsilivi Beach Hotel !!!
Keep beeping that horn Spiros along the beach as we are all waving

10+ for this excursion

John & Liza          10/10

Beautifull trip!! We count the days and months to come back to Zakynthos this summer and make this trip again at least twice. Go and enjoy, lots of laughter and the best memories for the rest of your life are guaranteed! Watch out for the fake speedboat trips, the one from captain Spriros Kaponis is the one and only original!!

Kevin P          10/10

Captian spiros ,the best boat trip on the island, most ov the other trips are rammed and they dont take u near enough to the caves. Also if he spots anything ov interest he will move towards it like seals and such like ,then to end the trip,he opens her up and its just a great end to the trip ,you'll love it well worth the money ..............cant wait to go back

Diane A          10/10

To anyone like Melissa who asked below, where to find Captain Spiros to book for a trip:

If you find the Tsilivi Watersports (the official one with a huge sign up, where Parasailing and things go from) and head to the left of this, away from the main beach, you will be able to follow the harbour road which curves around to the right. From the watersports hut you will be able to see across to where the road ends up.

As you get around to where the boats are in the harbour area, there should be a little stand with Levante Boat Trips on it.

Most days after trips, Captain Spiros will be found somewhere along the beach handing out leaflets and having a chat :)

Hope you find him:)
If you can't, just ask around, someone will be able to direct you, he is well known in Tsilivi.
Enjoy:)

Diane A          10/10

Captain Spiros speed boat trip is a must whilst on holiday in Tsilivi. We did both trips with him this year, had two fantastic days. My husband was celebrating his 50th birthday and Captain Spiros cracked open two bottles of bubbly in the blue caves!

Captain Spiros and his crew are lovely people and always give you a fantastic and friendly day out.

If you are looking to go on any excursions, you have to go with Captain Spiros.

Do not, repeat, do not book any trips with your hotel rep to either the shipwreck, turtle island or the blue caves - pants. We booked the turtle island and the blue caves with Spiros after i saw a comment on the web about him, i was not disappointed. We also booked the shipwreck trip with Olympic with our rep. They corner you on the first day and you kind of feel obliged to book. We ended up on a big ship, rammed with tourists, a snack bar wich was £7 for a buttie and £6 for half a lager. It was slow and boring, unlike Spiros which was such a laugh. We did pay 10 euros more each for Spiros but so worth it!!! He found the turtles (and you can tell it wasn't a one off, he hunts for them) and we even had dolphins chasing the boat on the way back. He isn't lying when he says he goes in all the caves. Onboard the Olympic ship you could only get off for a paddle...yawn...

Luckily we had hired a quad the previous day of our crappy Olympic trip, and toured the whole island. We saw the shipwreck and loads of beautiful sights prior so it probabaly wasn't so bad for us. Anyone looking to tour the island, i highly recommend it. The roads are safe and it is the only way to see outside of your resort. You can get fround the whole island in a day, and have some stop offs. Get a quad though, takes away the risk factor of scooters etc. Word of warning though, although the beach did have people selling stuff, they weren't intrusive. However we bought some DVD's on our last day and not one of them worked.

Love Zante, heard some comments that Lagana is 18-30's, which wasn't for us so we didn't bother going there. Tsilivi is still lively, which is where we stayed, loads of excellent restaurants, watersports, nice beach etc. I would defo go back. Great for couples and famlies.

Visited September 2008.

A big thank you to Spiros and the team for a really enjoyable trip. I would recommend his boat trips to anyone visiting Zante. Spiros ensures that you get to the ship wreck early enough to be the only ones there and on the way back you will see hundreds of people on much larger boats all going to the wreck. He also goes right into the caves, something which is impossible on the other boat trips. Well done Spiros - keep up the good work!

Sandra C          10/10

we travelled from Vasilikos to Tsilivi for the morning trip to the caves and shipwreck, having heard so many good things about captain spiros...and we were not dissapointed, had a brilliant time, will return to Zante again and do both trips next time. Highly recommended.   Sandra Clark, Glasgow.

Just a warning for anyone who is wanting to do this trip, someone is pretending to be Levante Speedboat so if you are wanting to do this trip, make sure that it is Captain Spiros as others have been conned.

Back to dull skies and wishing for more of Captain Spiros and his crew.  Both trips were amazing.  Sprios has all aspects of both trips well thought out.  He just loves the sea and it really shows.  He is informative and will do anything that his guests ask.  Fantastic to see dolphins & turtles.  Swimming in kerri caves was cool & refreshing and feel hungry afterwards.  Problem solved and food arrived!!  Say no more! Try the trip and find out the surprises.  Early morning trip equally enjoyable.  It was early (8.30am).  However, being the only boat at shipwreck was worth the early start.  As both trips were for half day, it was the best for both kids and parents.  As soon as you arrived in Tsilivi, check out the trips.  The were heavily booked when we enquired and had to Smilewait for a few days to travel.  Happy Days and roll on summer 2009!SmileSmileSmileSmile

Suzanne L          10/10

We had two fantastic trips with Captain Spiros and his crew.  We saw dolphins, turtles and went into some amazing caves which you could not do on a larger boat.  Our children also had a great trip, sitting up with Spiros and driving the boat.  Spiros and his crew were great  hosts and  made everyone feel special, once you have been on a trip with Spiros you are his friend.  We have been to Tsilivi before and have been on other trips but these are the best by far,  We have booked for next year and cannot wait to join Spiros and his crew again.

Paul N          10/10

quite simply the best.we went with spiros on both his trips and had the best 2 days of our holiday.
the trips are amazing, the whole experience is something you should not miss.
spiros and philip are complete characters who go out of there way to ensure everyone has a day to remember.his boat skills are second to none placing his boat where even neptune wouldnt go...
we would recommend this to all......spare captain paul

hi jo thanks for that bit of info. i want to go with captain spiros as everone says he does the best trips, but wanted to make sure there was toilet on board. thanks again. gemma x

Jo O          10/10

Hi there Gemma and Amanda.Yes there is a toliet on board the boat just under the deck or what ever its called and you can use it anytime.I would say its much better to go on the small boat with Captain Spiros as he gets to the Ship Wreck before the big boats arrive,so you have the beach all to yourself.Enjoy your trip.

Jo

spiros you are fab!!! your boat trip was worth every euro. My daughters and nephew enjoyed driving the boat. You gave us plenty of information about the caves and the shipwreck, and it was lovely to see them without all the big boats and all their passengers(we did it last year and what a rip off). so everyone going to tsilivi make sure you go and  book this trip. thanks again spiros good luck for the rest of the season the adamson and watson families  28.8.08

We have been to Tsilivi for the last two years.  Both times we have been on Captain Spyros boat trips.  He is a fantasic guy with such knowledge of the islands and nothing is too much trouble.  We have seen dolphins and turtles on each trip and Spyros stays watching for us for as long as we like.  Spyros drives right into the caves and we dive in and explore.  The banana beach is lovely.  We all get a chance to drive the speedboat and Spyros and Phillipe are a double act.  Thank you so much again, this trip made our holiday.  All the best Karen and family.  Definately 10/10

Linda R          10/10

Just been on a 11 night holiday to Tsilivi and my family and I went on the highly recommended Spyros's speedboat trips.  The first was to see the Blue Caves and Shipwreck. It was an early morning trip but we practically had the Shipwreck all to ourselves it was fantastic the sea is so clear and blue it looks like thousands of bottles of blue WKD have been poured into it.  The shipwreck is an amazing site just in itself.  We then went on the second boat trip and again we weren't disappointed.  We visited the Blue Caves, Turtle Island and Banana Beach.  The Blue Caves are fantastic, we moored in one of them and Spyros called to a boat which pulled along side of us, which we then found out sold ice creams, it was so funny.  After that we saw a turtle which came up for air it was so surreal it made out trip.  Thanks Spyros for contributing to a fantastic holiday.  Take care and hope to see you soon.  Lovely Linda.

Laura M          10/10

The best boat trip on the island!Captain spyros is a legend! We have just returned from a fortnight in tsilivi and were lucky enough to do both of captain spyros's trips! The first boat trip we did was to the caves and shipwreck, it was my step fathers 50th birthday the day we went and captain spyros bought bottles of champagne for on the boat! Amazing day, highly recommended! The second trip we did was to turtle island, keri caves and banana beach, brilliant afternoon, The trips definitely made our holiday, Wonderful staff and much better than the rest as there are no more than 30 people on the speed boat! Thanks for a great holiday!

We had a truly amazing time on the trip.  It was the highlight of our holiday.  We went on both the morning trip to the Shipwreck as well as the afternoon Turtle Island trip.  Captain Spiros makes the trip even more special as he is so knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble for him.  He lets the children have a go at driving the boat and the whole day is just complete enjoyment.  He is able to actually enter the caves and we were able to jump off the boat and swim in the lovely blue water.  We would definitely recommend booking with Spiros and nobody else.  Spiros wife is also a lovely person and you can book through her between 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. at Tsilivi Harbour.

Adam F          10/10

we went on both trips with captain spiros, blue caves and turtle island, both were great!

the captain is a smooth chap, letting all the ladies drive the boat and the kids too! all under the close sup**vision of the captain, who seems to be able to squeeze his boat in the smallest of caves and tunnels  (sometimes at speed) but as he is so good you are never worried at all!

its pretty funny when he comes blasting past the big boats who go nowhere near the coastline with all the poor suckers who booked through the reps looking half asleep and fed up!!

p.s. beware anyone sitting at the back on the turtle island trip, he will absolutely soak you on the return to the port!!

make sure you wave at him when on the beach or the captain will come and get you....

get off my boat!!

Robert M          10/10

click to enlarge click to enlargethis trip is excellent and really worth recomending, we were made to feel very welcome by capt spiros who really is a truly genuine friendly individual so much so that three days after our trip whilst at the hotel swimming pool spiros approached my children and asked "how are my little captains" with all the people he takes on his boat this small gesture spoke volumes of the man.  the smaller boat works as spiros takes you inside the caves which adds to the experience. the swimming in the caves is brilliant. the turtle spotting is hit or miss, they are either there or not however whilst on our journey back spiros actually turned the boat around to allow us to observe the large saucer shape in the water his trained eye had spotted. im sure other people would have just carried on but spiros took the time to go back. thanks capt spiros for the experience

Yvonne J          10/10

If you do only one trip in your holiday, then please make it this one, Captain Spiros is the best.

My son and I had a chance to sail the boat and swim in the sea. Captain Spiros had us laughing all the way.

Excellent time had by all

Diane L          10/10

Captain Spiros I salute you......Guys this man is the best.  This is my fourth year out here, and in all honesty I have done trips of other boats, but none of them compare to this one.  Scenery is beautiful, everyone is made to feel like they matter, if you have any questions they will be answered, in fact I enjoyed morning tour so much, booked to go back on afternoon tour few days later.  If you are into fish when you go to St Nicholas bay, stand in water just in front of taverna that you go to for lunch, through bit of bread in water near you and watch the fish coming flooding in......Highly recommended....

Mary M          10/10

My family went on both trips and they were fantastic.
Captain Spiros made everyone feel welcome and made the childern feel special.
Anyone that goes to Tsilivi most take the trips with Captain Spiros.

Robyn H          10/10

The best trip in Zante, infact the best trip we have ever been on! Captain Spiros is such a lovely person, got me right over my fear of boats! We went to visit the Blue caves and to see the Turtles, both trips were great! I would recomend this trip to anyone who visits Tsilivi, event if you dont like boats! Absolutely fantstic! We will be back again! Robyn & Chris x

Rana K          10/10

We managed to escape the clutches of our rep and booked both excursions with Captain Spyros - and were extremely pleased we did!  He has over 20 years experience and this was evident throughout the trips, squeezing in through the tightest gaps to get right into each of the blue caves and beating the other BIG boats to all the tourist hotspots.  He is fantastic with children and extremely charming (especially with the ladies!!! ).  He is one of those extremely passionate people who loves what he does and it really shows.

These 2 excursions are by far the most important experiences on this island and anyone that visits Zakynthos must seek out Levante and book them with Captain Spyros!!!!!

Thank you Spyros! We had an amazing time. We wish you well. xx

What can I say that ppl have not already said.....nothing except that if you are ever in Zante please book your boat trip with Lavante Speedboat you will not regret it. Great crew nice and personal due to the fact that the boat only holds 35 you feel that you are part of it. Big hi to Spiros, thanks for a great afternoon hope to be back soon.

Returned 20th July 2008 from a 2 Week Trip to Tsilivi, Zante.  My family (husband & 3 Kids) did both the morning trip to Blue Caves, Ship Wreck & St Nicholas Bay and afternoon trip to Kerri Caves, Turtle Island and Bannana Beach.  These Trips were fantastic, speed boat was able to get right into caves unlike big boats.  You were able to get off at shipwreck to have a good look.

I would highly recommend both of these trips, they are great value and because the boat only takes approximately 35 people it is a more personal trip and Spiros is able to spend time with you and give you lots of information. All the places you visit on both trips are not to be missed and are absolutely beautiful.

Captain Spiros keeps you entertained the whole duration of your trip and I am so glad we had the pleasure of meeting him.

Hopefully we will be returning to Zante next year and I would definately do both Levante Speedboat trips with Captain Spiros again, he was absolutely great.

Spiros is the captain and is the best he is so enthusiastic about the trip even though he has done it many times. We done the blue caves trip and the turtle island trip they were both as brilliant as each other.

the captain (spiros) can speak perfect english and is easy to understand whatever age group you are he keeps you very entertained from when you set sail to when you come back to the harbour. When you go to the Keri Caves he lets you go in swimming and if you do not want to you stay onboard the speed boat.

Women and children get a chance to sail the boat and he chooses three or more kids to sit beside him and some even get to sit at the very front of the boat as i got the chance to do.

i would rate this trip 10/10 and if we go back to that resort i would definetly go on both the trips again

I really love the idea of this trip but is it suitable for people with disabilities when getting on and off the boat?

This  is the best boat trip that I've been on.

Captain Sprios was fab, he made the trip really personal and fun for all on board, even stopping by local fishing boats to look at the daily catch and racing other boats!!!

I felt sorry for the people on the big day trip boats as they were crammed in like sardines (we only had 30 on board) as they could't be up close and personal with the surroundings as us.

If this is the only trip you do you won't be dissapointed - tell all your friends, I have.

Well we're back in sunny England after having a fantastic 2 weeks in Tsilivi.  It was great to see you again and the trip was even better than last time if at all possible,  love the new boat!!!   Everyone who loves boat trips should go on the Levante speedboat trip with Spiros, he's an amazing guy who has a fantastic job and makes your holiday very special and is worth every penny.  If you're off to Tsilivi then make sure you book yourself on this trip, either book at his stand between Mambos Bar and Tom & Johns ( he is there most evenings) or along Tsilivi beach. He is far better than the big boats, although a liitle bit more but you get to see everything.

Spiros we are back in September ( 8 weeks and counting), can't wait, missing the sun and the great way of life!!!

Thanks again for a gr8 trip and see you soon.

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlargeJust got home from a fab two week holiday in Tsilivi, Zante and out of all the trips we did, Caption Spiros Levante trip was by far the best. Excellent day out and fantastic company. Captain Spiros is a star and makes everyone feel so welcome. The boat itself was super and equally super fast so you get to te best bits of the island and fast. I would definately recommend this trip to anyone going to Zante, usaly find some people at the entrance where the flags are onTsilivi beach for booking the trip, get yourselves down there, you won't regret it.

Amazing trip!

This was my 12th time to Zakynthos, I have done the boring trips up to the shipwreck before that waste a whole day and on most of them yo are like sardines on the boats.

NOT with this trip! ..........Spiros is amazing, he makes it seem like a private tour and does what the customers want. Also with a 400hp speedboat it is a very exhilerating trip. I would definately recommend to everyone. It is well worth the money.

I will be recommending Spiros to all of my customers!

Kay           10/10

What a brilliant trip to the shipwreck and blue caves which are amazing. This boat goes where the big ones can't. Spiros makes the day fun and entertaining. I would recommend this trip to everyone that visits Zante. Hold on to your hats!!

Tim C          10/10

Well folks, this is a must with what must be the funniest and friendliest man on Zante. He takes you to places that the big boats just cannot reach which is what you pay for. We went on both trips and it played a huge part in making our holiday. The scenery is fantastic, and there are a few surprises.I can put my mortgage on it that you will enjoy the trips.

Krystle J

Hi Eddie,

We were sitting next to you and your girlfriend on that trip!

Tracy K          9/10

Had a really good time on this trip. We went on it near the end of our holiday and had we known it would be so good we would have gone earlier and gone on the afternoon trip as well as the morning trip. Also I got to drive the boat!!!!! He lets all the women and kids have a go. Not your usual boring board trip!!!

Well where do i begin?

I found out about the levante boat trip from these reviews so before i even got into Tsilivi i knew i was going to go on it!!!

First day we arrived 13thjune.. We took a stroll down to the harbour and saw Spiros sign, Asked a bloke who im sure was Philipa and booked it with Spiros right there and then!

Went on the shipwreck and blue caves trip on the monday and had an amazing time, Spiros really does do a good job and gets the the shipwreck before anyone else i.e the bigger boats!!!

We were the only ones there!!

Spiros lets all women and children drive the boat also which is good fun!

After the trip we knew we had to book the next one to turtle island and keri caves, so we did and that was great also.

With Spiros you arent stuck on a boat for hours on end, he takes you to where your meant to go and then lets you stop off inbetween the trips to have lunch etc all in all the trips are around 5 hours long.

We plan to go back to Tsilivi again next year and will DEFINATLY be going aboard with Spiros again

Went on speedboat trip to blue caves 21/06/08. We went on this trip ten years ago on the smaller boat but trip is still the best on Zante. Highlight for me was the dolphins we saw in the bay near the caves, also saw a turtle which we were quite lucky to see in this part of the island. Spiros makes the trip very personal as well as giving lots of information about area and Zante in general. Very funny and entertaining will definitely be going back on trip next year but will try the turtle trip then. Thanks Captain Spiros and Phillipa for a great time.

Jo O          10/10

Our first trip to Tsilivi Zante was made extra special by Captain Spiros fantastic boat trip.

Everything was stunning from the Blue caves to the Shipwreck and lunch at the idilic St.Nicolas Harbour.
Spiros lets all the ladys drive the speedboat and if your lucky he will let you spin the boat round and give everyone else on board a fright!!(Thanks for that Spiros).
Best 40Euros ever spent.
You get to go into ALL the blue caves and have Shipwreck Beach all to yourself-You must go swimming there the sea is out of this world!
A big thank you to Captain Spiros and Phillipa.
Hope to See you soon

What a great trip. Took the afternoon trip to the south of the island and had a great time, brilliant also for all the kids onboard. No tight time schedules to keep to. Better than all the big ships, you even go inside the caves with the boat, something special. But the best was the turtles. If you get the chance take it, well worth it, never forget the trip.

returned home early hours this morning and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in zante. highlight was most definately the speedboat trip to turtle island and surrounds with captain spiros and phillipa. was told that becoz of the time of year would b lucky to see turtles but was fortunate becoz we did see 1, spiros let all the females steer the boat leaving the poor blokes horrified. a very informative trip and most enjoyable. i have done all of spiros rules  and when was being a lazy bum waved as he sped past and like his final rule, im getting off his boat

This is the best trip ever.....dont do any other boat trip apart from this one it runs rings round those larger cruises!

check it out http://www.zantelevante.com/default.asp you can find captain spiros on the harbour in Tsilivi

Had the best morning and driving the boat was fab. Captain Spiros had my other half Simon jumping in the water which he loved.

And the added bonus of seeing dolphins on the way back was brilliant

Do this trip if u dont do anything else this was the only excursion we did and it is worth every penny and then some.

We went on both trips this year and can't tell you how much we enjoyed them.

Spiros recognised us from last year and made us feel special.  We feel that there is always something new on every trip even if you have done it before.  Of course we mustn't forget Phillipa who works his socks off and is always so helpful.

We love going to St Nicholas Bay for our lunch, wonderful sardines  and Greek salad which Spiros helped us out with!!!!

Must say the best cheese and ham rolls we have ever tasted were from the man on the boat at Turtle Island.  So tasty but very reasonable.  You must try one.

My husband and I both agree that is the best trip we have ever been on.

We will be going again next year for certain.

This trip was the highlight of my holiday, Captain Spiros was great, especially letting all the ladies have a go at steering the speed boat  (brave man).  This is definitely the best way to see the shipwreck and the Blue Caves as you can really get up close, and the thrill of the speed boat is just the best.  The stop at Port St Nicholas for lunch  was wonderful.  Next time i am coming back to go on the trip to see the turtles.

We thought that we had such a great day at smuglers cove with spiros that we went for the other trip to the south of the island and do some turtle spotting and swimming. The swimming and sight seeing was brilliant fun,but seeing turtles in open water really was out of this world.Spiros said he would find them and he did.The whole experience of the two trips we done with the captain can only be described as awesome! These guys really do know what they are on about but more than that they know how have and give you a great time.So if you are a lazy bum on the beach moaning about the big boat blowing the horn, get off your bum and get on the boat!! Thanks guys

Stuart C          10/10

click to enlargeHaving tried to get to smuglers cove twice before we were beggining to think it couldnt be done due to choppy seas,we spoke to Ian on the beach and promised us we would get there. He did not lie.Captain spiros and phillipa took us round to the cove with the children and women having a go at driving the boat.It was brilliant. On the way back we stopped at the blue caves, the knowledge that the crew have will not be found on the big ships that tour operators offer. The mad captain not only has a great personality but he is full of great information.  If you dont do anything else you must spend time with these guys.Miss it, miss out!

A trip with Captain Spiros and the crew of the Levante was recommended to us by Robert Wallace the owner of Freddie's Beach Bar in Tsilivi.  It turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday!

We took the morning trip to Navagio, the Blue Caves and then a spot of lunch in Agios Nikolaos.

The crew were very entertaining and kept everybodies spirits up throughout the excursion.

We were the first boat to arrive at Navagio and disembarked to enjoy the beach and snorkel in the azure waters.  As there were only 20 of us, we had plenty of space to enjoy the special atmosphere there.  It is truly worth a visit, particularly if you are a photography buff like me.

Onto the Blue Caves where due to its small size the Levante was able to enter the caves.  Captain Spiros gave an informative and fun commentary on the species there.  We even had the opportunity to swim.

Onto the lovely little harbour of Agios Nikolaos where we had the best part of an hour to do what we liked.  Most of us opted to eat at one of the very pretty restaurants.  The food was superb.

We enjoyed the trip so much we planned to return on another day for the afternoon excursion to go turtle watching and cruise around to Keri.  Unfortunately, we'd left it too late to book as we were returning home on the day of the next sailing.

Overall, I'd recommend a trip on the Levante to anyone visiting Zakynthos.

My hubby and I went on the afternoon trip, we spoke to Ian on the beach but there was no hard sell-just let him know if we wanted to go. On the day we were due to go it was rather windy when we went down to the harbour Spiros wife greeted us but informed us the boat would not go out as the weather may spoil our enjoyment of the trip. I was impressed., after all they could have taken us out and had our money, but the concern was for our enjoyment. We re booked and the following day were on our way - what an afternoon out absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Don't even think about the excursions on the larger boats you will be disappointed. This was well worth every Euro, we will be back next year and will do the morning excursion!!

Top tip - don't leave this until later in your holiday.  We tried to get on it but it was cancelled 3 days in a row due to bad weather and each time we had to get up to be in Tsilivi habour by 08:15 to be told this.  We didn't have time to book a trip on a bigger boat (they weren't affected by the weather) so didn't get to see the cave at all.

Louise M          10/10

THIS TRIP WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR HOLIDAY,CAPT SPIROS IS SO FUNNY, AND I GOT TO DRIVE THE BOAT!!! THE MAN IS SO PASSIONATE ABOUT HIS ISLAND AND QUITE WRITELY SO, ITS BEAUTIFUL.THE TRIP WAS 40 EUROS PP AND WORTH EVERY PENNY,WOULD RECCOMEND THE LEVANTE TO ANYONE, AND CANT WAIT TO DO THE AFTERNOON TRIP NEXT YEAR.

Mike G          10/10

This trip more expensive than others on the Island but don't be fooled! Other trips advertising see the blue caves & ship wreck do so from a great distance. Capt Spiros allows you to land on the shipwreck beach & enter the blue caves. He is also very knowledgable about the area & extremely witty to boot.

The trip lasts from 8.30am 'til 1.00pm, just enough time on the water, + also get the experience of riding in a real powerful speed boat & driving it if you are lucky.

Nicola E          10/10

Just returned from Tsilivi, Zante.  This trip was recommended to us by a couple we met on the beach, they steered us away from the cheaper boat trips saying they are not all that.  With many you do not get the close up experience and the chance to swim in the caves.  All seven of our holiday party went on the  Levante Speedboat Trip with Spiros on our last day.  Spiros made it a great end to our holiday with a day full of fun, a really memorable experience.  The speedboat is small enough to wind between caves and we saw some brilliant views.  Spiros's experience was obvious and we spotted some turtles,  waiting quietly until they popped their heads out of the water for camera shots.  Highly recommended for all ages.

Eugene M          10/10

What  a  fantastic  2nd  trip  we had  ! Captain Spiros has a great personality and sense of humour and the ability to make everyone on board welcome feel welcome, our children loved him as he made them feel special. The sale team are lovely, they do not give you a hard sell but we have been on other trips on big and small boats but this is definitely the most fun and best value for money. We look forward to another boat trip next Summer, maybe  by then he will be doing a trip to Kefalonia !

"relax.... you are on holiday!!"  one word of warnin ... id watch where u sit on the way bak.... your bound to get soaked!!!! but its a great laugh to the end of a fab day!!! definately recomend this boat trip... you wont regret it i promise!! i will be comin bak to tsilivi again next year.... and wud like to do a trip again.... so see u then spiros!!

I must for everyone. We did both the morning (ship wreck & blue caves) and afternoon (turtle island & Keri caves) trips and these were the highlight of two great weeks on Zakythos. Captain Spiros is a great host, shows considerable knowledge on the history of the sites & shows admirable concern for the environment we visited. His first though is often for the little ones, making sure they have plenty of shade, are first to see many of the sights, and all get a turn steering the boat.

On the afternoon trip we came across a loggerhead turtle apparently in some distress on the surface. As we got closer it became clear we were witnessing a turtle versus octopus 'scrap'. The octopus was trying to avoid the turtle's jaws by first hidding on the turtle's back, then it's neck & finally its belly. With the turtle tiring Spiros plus a few of us dived into to assist. As the turtle was distracted Spiro's dived down & snatched the octopus from the turtle's underbelly, A quick 'inside out' movement finished off the octopus & ensured someone had a fine BBQ.

Not sure you'll see this everytime, but these trips should not be missed.

Andy B          10/10

the Levante trip to the ship wreck was brilliant. Kids and my wife a bit apprehensive about the trip but Captain Spiros soon put them at there ease a mixture of humour and knowledge of the island. The kids even managed to drive the boat!! The boat was neat and tidy, you could say very shipshape!!

On our trip to the shipwreck we arrived early before any of the other commerical boats, just as the captain said he would, dropped us off at the beach and allowed us to wonder at our leisure, before a history lesson around the shipwreck, I won't spoil the surprise here. On the return trip to Tsilivi, we stopped off at the caves, the Captains seamanship and command of the boat was amazing, getting in close to most of the caves and explaining the different sites.

We had already been on a turtles viewing trip with another boat, but spoke to some who had been out with Capt. Spiros and their tails of the trip made us very jealous, nothing like what had happened on our trip.

So my recommendation is to do both trips with the Levante. The only problem we had was finding the stall to book the trips, is it located just by the tiny harbour on the left hand side of Tsilivi bay, when facing the sea. Enjoy, when we go back to Tsilivi will be seeing the Captain and Phillipa again.

This was the highlight of our holiday. Spiros and Phillipa are a great team, passionate about what they do and very considerate and attentive to both tourists and the environment. The afternoon trip was fanatastic and we were able to see a turtle feeding on an octopus.  We would thoroughly recommend this trip as it is one we will always remember.

Laura W          10/10

Highlight of our holiday! Spiros was entertaining and informative about the history of the island. Boat was immaculate. When we got to the shipwreck, Phillipa and Spiros took time to clean up other peoples mess. Women and children were even allowed to steer the speedboat for a short amout of time (which worried the men!)

If you are going to take one trip while you are on holiday in Tsilivi, we recommend this trip as a must!!
Many thanks to Spiros and Phillipa for a wonderful morning trip!!!

Alison S          10/10

What can I say?! We did both boat trips and they were most definitely the highlights of our holiday. It was amazing.

Captain Spiros is so passionate about the island and his knowledge is incredible. He has a wicked sense of humour - particularly when I got soaked when we hit the big waves!!  We saw parts of the island and the Blue Caves that you wouldnt have seen in the larger boats.

My two girls had an amazing time and enjoyed sitting up front to help steer the boat! Bristol girl is still talking about Spiros and will miss him. I cannot recommend these trips enough and I will certainly be doing them again.

Thank you Captain Spiros and Phillipa for 2 fantastic trips. You are the best!

Michael R          10/10

The best trip we have ever been on 8 of us went we had great morning if you only go on 1 trip go on this one truly wonderful.Spiros is a great guide and has great sense of humour kept us entertained with his knowledge of Zante and was joking all though the  trip.

Kim Z          10/10

It is impossible to describe how AMAZING this trip is!!!!!! Spriros is so funny but so caring and helpful. He manages to find the most amazing sights of the island, as well as knowing everything about it.

He never fails to find a turtle to see and has even jumped in to find turtles him self before!!!

He let everyone, who wanted to, to sit on the fronjt of the bost while it was sailing.

It is a MUST DO trip that i would recoment to anyone.

Ian C          10/10

We went as a mixed party of adults and children on 12th August. Captain Spiros was excellent and took time to look after us all. We did the afternoon Turtle trip which overall was 6 hours but we were entertained all the way. A far better experience compared with the big boat alternatives ( we heard experiences of 4 hour trips with nowhere to sit!!! ). Cannot recommend this trip enough.

Went with Captain Spiros and Phillipa on the afternoon trip to Turtle Island, Keri caves and St Nicholas beach. Had a great time, Spiros is amazing, the control he has over the boat, getting into the tiniest spaces and gaps.  He managed to find a turtle for us to see, something the big boat trips have never managed to do for us. The return journey back to Tsilivi was brilliant, if you like getting wet!!!!!!   Thanks Captain Spiros

This is the very best of trips, a family orientated captain who loves kids, ,and whose passion is his speedboat and Greece especially Zante. If you go to Tsilivi dont miss a trip on this boat it is the greatest.

Wonderful caves, a swim off turtle island, turtle spotting, food and drink at st.Nicholas beach it's all packed into afun but relaxing time with captain Spiros and crew man Phillipa. Seeing Zante from the sea is an experience not to be missed.

Definately the best day out of our 2 week holiday.  We stayed in kalamaki and made the trip into Tsilivi to pick up the boat at 08.30 by taxi.  Was certainly worth it.

Captain Spyros and crew are fantastic, very entertaining and knowledgable about all the island.  All the kids and women get to drive the speedboat, so a fantastic time was had by my 6 and 3 year olds, who got to sit up the front for the whole trip.

Unfortunately we didnt get to go on the beach at the shipwreck (but the water looked really cold so wasnt too dissappointed).  Captain Spyros stopped off at another bay so everyone could have a swim which was really nice.

Also got to go right into the blue caves which you can only do if on a small boat.

All in all a brilliant day was had by all.

David H          10/10

If you are looking for a boat trip in Zante, go on this one. (I normally get sea sick on those slow plodding tour ships that cram you in and take all day, not a problem on the Levante speedboat). Our party included two adults and two children aged 14 and 9, to see the shipwreck and the blue caves.

Captain Spiros is a great man, makes sure everyone young or old is looked after and nothing is too much trouble. The big advantages of the Levante are its speed to reach the attractions, and its ability to actually go into the blue caves for a closer look. You cant do that on the big boats.
You also get to stop off for lunch and swim breaks, and still have the afternoon to yourselves. The trip was well planned and a pleasure to be on.
Thank you Captain Spiros for a great trip.

Fabulous trip that let us see just how beautiful the coastline of Zante is. Captain Spiros kept us entertained throughout the trip and made sure everyone had a good time ( his English is excellent ) The highlight of the trip for me was when he spotted some dolphins out at sea and took us out to see them......... to see those beatiful fish close up was a very emotional thing and I have to admit that it brought a lump to my throat!. Thank you Captain Spiros for a wonderful trip.

We did an afternoon trip with Captain Spiros to the caves and turtle island. What a personality, nothing was too much trouble. He made sure we saw the turtles and we even got to see a trawler pulling in their catch. Being a smaller boat we were able to actually go into the caves and swim inside. Had a really great trip and although there was a wide age range Spiros made sure everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the 8 lads and girls who didn't know eachother at the start.

We done the boat trip to see the turtles ..wow! it was the highlight of our two week stay on the island, the captain and crew were just brillent our children 5 in total loved every moment we were unlucky not to get the weather to do the caves trip but we plan on returning so we'll do it some time soon.

Thank you !!

I have some photos I'll try upload them.....I never did see a sailors cleavage until the  boat trip!!! I thought it was just builders & plumbers who had them......

PLEASE READ!!!!

If you go to Tsilivi please go on Levante boat trip. Spiros, the Captain is the most wonderful Greek i have ever met. I have been to the shipwreck once and the turtles twice, every year i go i have to go on his boat, its so exciting. I usually suffer from sea sickness but believe me, you WON'T get it on his boat. his trips are totally 100% safe, safer than these big boat trips that cram you in like sardines. The reps will try to put you off going with him because they want you to book on their trips in the bigger boats. So, take my advice and ignore the reps. You will not be disappointed, you will have the best ever time, personal touch, stay for lunch at a taverna on either trip, get to walk around the shipwreck, go inside a cave and swim on the turtle trip with ice-cream man on his little boat visiting you. An overall fantastic, superb, not to be missed trip. Look out for Ian on the beach ( he wears the cream t.shirt with levante on the back) who walks around in the afternoon giving you the option to book...Please for a great morning or afternoon out, go with Captain Spiros.  YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Victoria T          10/10

We took a trip on Captain Spiros' boat.  He was very friendly to all the passengers and had us laughing all the way to the ship wreck and blue caves.  Thoroughly recommend this trip.  Well worth the money.  YOU MUST DO THIS TRIP!!

Paul V          10/10

Just took our 3rd trip with Spiros this year (June 2007) - and still as good as ever!

The ONE trip you must do if you visit Zante!

Susan W          10/10

If you do no other trip while you are in Zante DO THIS ONE!!  We went on the afternoon trip to the Blue Caves - a fantastic trip and great fun!!

Natasha C          10/10

Thankyou Captain Spiros and Philip for an amazing morning out at sea to visit the shipwreck and the blue caves.  To all readers out there this trip is a MUST on your visit to Zante.  Spiros does the best boat trip from Tsilivi Beach - you reach the shipwreck early in the morning before any of the larger boats, plus his speedboat is small enough to go into the beautiful blue caves.  It is defintiely worth money and you are well looked after.

Captain Spiros & co. we will see you next year for a visit to the Turtles!

THE BEST boat trip on Zante!

Captain Spiros is a fantastic & funny guy, he really makes the trip worthwhile!

Because he leaves early from Tsilivi harbour (08:30), he's the 1st boat at the ship wreck and one of the few boats that can and will enter most of the Blue Caves, you get the opportunity to photograph some great views.

click to enlargeThis trip is well worth every cent and comes highly recommended. We certainly recommended it to everyone at every opportunity, even when we'd just stepped off the boat!

Near the end of the trip Spiros asks each individual if they have enjoyed themselves and offers to take your photo, what I think is a lovely personal touch.

Don't forget to wave to him as he beeps his way back into harbour!!!

Keep it up Crazy Captain!

Hi Captain Spiros, Kelly and I had the greatest time in Tsilivi   and it was made all the better by Captain Spyros.  The trip was amazing, all the girls got to drive the boat and it was one long laugh from start to finish.  We made some fantastic friends on the trip (Clive - thats him in the white hat! and Gloria) who we are still friends with now we are all back home.  This is by far the best way to see the shipwreck and caves but believe me, it would be worth going on the boat even if there were no sights to see!  One thing though, when you get back, make sure you stand on the beach and wave your arms every time Captain Spyros comes by.  Its good for him, great fun and he certainly deserves it!  Cheers for the best day of our holiday!  Dave and Kelly

Mike J

Hi Spyros and Annalise, remember Lakis' birthday? We hired the boat for the day 25 of us,the children all had a go at the wheel and they thoroughly enjoyed it.We went to Turtle island then on to Keri for lunch then to the caves for a swim and the last hour turtle spotting.Spyros is a great guy it's people like him that makes Zante a very special place.Regards to Yannis and we'll see you in May.Mike&Valerie

Please don't confuse the larger boat trips with Captain Spiros' speed boat. We went on the half day boat trip to see the shipwreck and the blue caves and it was excellent. We chose a great day to go, as we could get the boat right up to the shipwreck beach! The blue caves were so amazing, although I don't think I would have dared jump into the water for the others to see how blue it is!! Captain Spiros made the trip for me, he was so funny and knew all there is to know about the island, was a little bit scared at him letting the little boy drive the boat though!  It was an excellent trip - would recomend to anybody. Definitely need to go back on it though, as we didn't manage to see any dolphins! John was a bit seasick, but I blame it on the alcohol we had the night before  Oh and if you're on Tsilivi beach at 1pm, if you hear a boat horn sounding, give captain spiros a wave!!

Rachel & Paul

Thanks guys for a fantastic trip again. Better than last year by a long way. Nice to see Spiros 7yo son, Yannis, taking control of the boat, in fact he had control most of the trip!! Enjoyed the company and the knowledge Spiros has of the island.
Wouldn't go on any other boat trip again!

Spioros... Hope you enjoyed your one fish supper (other one was thrown back in the sea!!!)

Hi to Spiros, Yannis and Phillip.... Have a good winter guys and we'll be back again in June 2007

much love

We went from tsvili beach/harbour with Capt Spyros and speedboat, good fun trip,ok if you go slow it feels choppy but most of the time you are just speeding along, shipwreak beach is small stones but ok ,the water temp in late Sept was warm,he gets there early so you have the place to yourselves, then  to the blue caves ,a stop for lunch (exellent taverna right on beach) then another beach stop ,blast back to tsvili beach and back by 13.30.All in all a great trip with a great crew (2).And yes the water is that blue.

Gemma T

I would recommend this trip. It's fantastic. Spyros is such a great guy. I dont know how he gets the boat into the caves but he does. This trip is soooooooo much better than the big boat because you see sooooooooooooooooo much more. This trip is very good value for money and should not be missed!!!!

Helen B

Great fun - Captain Spyros' sense of humour and knowledge and love of his island made the trip really special. Thanks guys.

Kate R

We came across a lovely dog called Luca on the beach on our first day and while we were saying hello to her, Ian came up and told us about Levante speed boat trips. I'd read about it here so my boyfriend, Andy, and I booked places on the trip to the caves and shipwreck. The next day at 8:30am we went and had a great time. It was hot and sunny, the boat journey was fun and Spyros was great even if he did push me off the boat at our swimming stop! We met some nice couples and enjoyed it so much we booked to go again to the Keri caves and Turtle hunting. Well turtle spotting. But weather was bad so on our 3rd attempt we were lucky. Weather was appalling sailing through Laganas but made for exciting journey - fork lightning, thunder and rain on a big metal speedboat anyone! But we went to the caves and swan in there, then when the weather was clear we went to Laganas bay but didn't see any turtles  apparently it's cos of the weather. We stopped at St Nicholas' beach just below banana beach for a drink and a swim then headed back. It was a great day, even though we didn't see a turtle. We were accompanied on the 2nd trip by Spyros' children, yiannos and katerina (I hope that's right) and the little boy actually drove the boat out of the harbour and right across Tsilivi bay - he's only 7!!!! But then Spyros let me drive the boat too...

It's a seriously good trip and worth every penny. We saw the big boats and were very glad we'd chosen to go with Levante. We'd definately go again if we go back to Tsilivi

Sandy H

Hallo to you all.  Our trip with yourselves was the best boat trip we have had  on our holidays in Zakynthos. We have been 10 times to the island but this was our first trip with Spiros & Crew.
We had a great time and we were well looked after during the trip. We will definately we come with you again next year when we come back to Zakynthos.  We also look forward to seeing  " Captain  Yannis "
again, and wish him good luck with his English at School.   Good Luck and best wishes to you all.  Yammas

Jacqui C

We have just come home from Tsilivi Beach and after meeting Ian on beach we booked our boat trip with him rather than the rep. We had a Excellent time even got to drive boat. Captain Spiros is great fun. Much smaller crowd (max  30) than the reps trips, we took the boat right into caves. Captain will stop the boat if you see anything you want a closer look at. Highly recommend this trip.  Be prepared though Spiros will only take you out if weather is perfect so you could pay your deposit, get up early only to find your not going that day, you either get deposit back or choose another day, but that is good as at least you know your going in good weather conditions. We had Spiroses 7 year old son with us on our trip, training him to be captain.  Excellent trip, great fun. Best wishes to Spiros and Ian.

Gurps B

Hi Ian and captain Spiros,

Thanks for the boat cruise to Ship wreck and the caves. Both me and Shels enjoyed it very much and have told everyoone about it back home in London....infact we cant stop talking about it as it was one of the high lights on our holiday.

Captain Spiros is very entertainig and we loved driving his boat. As for the darling Ian, you cant miss him on the beach, he will tell you everything you need to know about the trip, so get his attension and book your trip as its well worth it.

To top it up we met some lovely girls on the boat too Ronnie and Mel, whom we then spent the rest of our holiday with and still keep in touch back at home.

To anyone going to Zante, keep an eye out for Ian on the beach and book your boat trip...well worth the money......Luv Gurps and Shels x

Lisa H

We went on 2 boat trip with Captain Spiros. 1 to see the shipwreck and blue caves and 1 to see the turtles and keri caves. both were excellent and definatley worth doing. Captain Spiros was excellent and made the days. Glad we met Ian on the beach, lovely guy who informed us of the trips and organised times for us to go. would recommend this trip over any that the reps do as this was money well spent on a small boat with max of 30 people opposed to 250 on the rep boats. You go in all the caves weather permitting although we went on a fairly rough day and still went in.  Lisa and Iain

Hello there captain just to say thanks for a great trip around the caves and to the shipwreck where us brits had to walk like cowboys across the beach. I told alot of people around Alamis Apartments to try your trip.Just a shame your not as tall as us (look out for the bucket!!!). Thanks again kev,dan and ken.

Sam & Mike

Hello Captain Spiros

As promised on the boat We are writing to let Everybody know how Fantastic the Boat Trip was
leaving that little bit earlier really did make the difference seeing the wreck with no other boats there and going inside the caves as the other boats just went pass slow to have a look .It was just a shame that we got caught up in a bit of rain on the way back, but hey whats a bit of rain on your holls when the sun shines 10 mins later.

So if you are going to Tsilivi you really must go on the Boat, Captain Spiros and his staff walk up the beach all the time just stop them to see the great details of the Trip

Thanks again had a fab time

Julie S

For the 1st time ever, my friends & I went on a boat trip that we enjoyed so much, we went back for more! This time, taking the other excursion on the Levante Speedboat (there's 2 trips), which was just as good as the first, if not better. I tend to steer away from big boats trips, generally too big, too many people, tendency to feel queasy, but oh... what an unforgettable experience with Captain Spiros and Phillip (second in command), to make everything perfect. Can't forget Ian, who you will bump into if sunning yourself on Tsilivli beach, to tell you all about the trips. That's unless someone has beat Ian to it, HA, which in our case we'd heard from some people staying in the apartment next to us. We had though, already spotted the white beauty, as it makes itself known when approaching the harbour! Go and see for yourself! The 2 trips on the Levante Speedboat, I can honestly say, were the best trips I've ever been on in the Greek Islands. No coaches, no queues, no crowds, instead a FUN atmosphere, everyone enjoying themselves, which Spiros added to, by his amazing personality, warmth and caring for everyone, especially children. Excellent stops on both trips, Spiros fills you in all the way about this and that, good tavernas, good food, different things to see, the biggest AAHHH when we saw a turtle! It would have been good to see dolphins or sea lions, but not to be on our day. The water around the caves is truly amazing, turquoise blue, you see different colours in the caves, dont miss the experience to swim in them and see for yourself. Spiros lets you dive or jump off the boat, if you are that daring! If you wear a bikini top or a sarong guys, you'll get to sail the boat. For us ladies, it's all inclusive in the price! Certainly not a trip(s) to be missed when visiting Zante. To sum up, great fun, not too long on the boat, lots to see and do, the time goes too quickly. Our very very best wishes to Spiros, Phillip and Ian. Your friends from England Julie, Lorraine and Pat (the man with two wives if you remember Spiros!). A BIG Thank You, Efharisto and Kalinichta

Gloria & Clive

WOW ! ! ! What can we say it was absolutely fantastic. Spiros is a one off character, PROFFESIONAL, FRIENDLY AND CHARASMATIC.Wink He made the trip one to remember we loved every moment of it from start to finish, anyone visiting Tsilivi it is a must and worth every Euro.  My chance to steer the boat and my interesting conversation with Spiros was an added bonus.  Well done Spiros - YAMMASSmile

An added bonus, we met a lovely couple Dave and Kelly, on the trip and enjoyed many a good time in their company for the rest of our holidaySmile

Roni M

Have to agree with ALL the comments!  Felt a bit like a school outing at times!!!  But Spiros is a funny guy, very sincereMet two lovely girls THE ASIAN LOVLIES X  hooked up with them for most of the rest of the holiday! had a blast x IAN your lovely too xx

thanks captain for an unforgetable trip
   best wishes mark and trish

What can we say.  We went on Spiros's Speed boat to the shipwreck on 13th September and it was absoloutly fantastic.  It is our 2nd visit to Tsilivi and the last time we did the whole island cruise which was BORING.  Spiros made this a trip to remember.  You get to the shipwreck before any of the other ships which is brill and you are back on the beach for 1.... after stopping at a lovely little taverna for a few Mythos.  Ladies beware..... you will be asked to drive the boat which is the best.  Will be going on the Turtles trip with him next time.  YAMMAS SPIROS.

What a fantastic trip!!!!!!!  This is our second time in Tsilivi and did not get the chance to go out with Spios the first time.  we certainly made up for it this time!!  He is a fantastic trip and everyone should go!  His attitude with all the people on the boat is second to none and he was totally professional in everything we did.  He even let all the kids have a go at steering the boat!  This is certainly a trip not to miss!  Fantastic value for all ages!

Gill M

click to enlargeclick to enlargeMy daughter Amy and i went on a Levante speed boat trip and had a fantastic time .

Captain Spyros is a real character.  He makes the trip really good fun. You will even get the chance to steer the boat. Plenty of chances to swim, even in the blue caves!

Jane H

FANTASTIC !!!!!

In relation to Caroline's question, we took our 2 year old (just) on the trip & had no probs at all, in fact she even had a nap!!  All kids under 12 get a life jacket & they also had a go at captaining the speed boat, so I'd say go for it.

Ian the salesman is a nice chap & Captain Spiros is a real darling.  We went on the afternoon trip to the south of the island & thoroughly enjoyed it.  We wished we'd had chance to do the north trip too, but we didn't do the trip until the end of our hols.  Still, it gives us an excuse to go back eh??  We saw 2 turtles & the places that we visited where fantastic.

Well worth the money & much, much better than the trips on the bigger boats, you get a good view, go into caves & have great fun.

Wendy L

Re Carolines question
I would say that the trip is not suitable for a child of that age because of the long time spent at sea and the nature of the trip.
That is purely my opinion though

Wendy

Stuart C

click to enlargeWe went on the trip on 22/8/06 and had an absolutely brilliant time. We couldnt land at the shipwreck due to the weather but capt Spyros made sure everyone was happy and safe. You must do this trip during your hols .  Ian - you are an excellent salesman for Levante and dont let the ignorant countrymen of yours depress you too much How's the dog???

John R

We really wanted to go on the Levante Speedboat Trip. We had read all about it online and it definetly seemed to be the best trip on the island. When we got there we shocked to hear that the trip wasn't running  because they had been increasing the number of seats on the boat. We looked at other trips and private boat hire but none of them seemed as good. Lucky enough just before the end of our stay we checked back and found that the first trip of the year was running on our last day there.

The day was absolutely brilliant. Everybody met up on the pier, jumped on the boat and set off for the shipwreck. Spyros was a great guide, really funny and really good with all the kids on board, letting them have a go at driving his boat. Think it made their day. We visited the shipwreck (take flipflops off the boat with you as the beach is really stoney!), viewed the lighthouse and then stopped for lunch in a nice little port. He then took us round all the caves, going inside each one, giving a really good look at what was there, telling us a lot about the unique features of each and it was really enjoyable. We stopped for a swim on the way back in a little bay which was great and helped us all to cool down in the hot sun.

Definetly think this trip made our holiday and if you are going to take a boat trip your mad if you don't do it with levante.

Caroline E

is the levante speed boat trip suitable for child just turned 2? how long are you out there?

Ian M

Hello everyone, I am pleased to say that Captain Spiros is back with the boat from Athens after it has had a refit. We have now started both the North and South trips again.

To book the the trips you can find me on Tslivi beach or at the harbour anyday at 1pm.
We hope to see old and new friends agin soon.
