2nd visit to the Clio  (Ju;y 16th to 30th) and it is just as good three years on.  The family are still very hard working and cannot do enough for you.  They are very welcoming and look after your every need.  The food and bar prices are very reasonable.  The rooms are kept spotlessly cean.  The food is very very good and as we were half board thought that we may get a bit bored of the meals but we didn't.  Silver and his family are experts in the hospitality trade and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed at The Clio for the second time in July 2008.  Silver and his family once again made us feel very welcome.  The standard of accommodation is first class by usual Greece standards.  Tiled bathroom, with shower curtain.  Kitchen area compact but fully stocked cupboards with zanussi fridge, matching cutlery, china and glasses AND a kettle!

Lovely views of the hills towards Katastari from the balconies.  Pool and sunloungers lovely and you can catch the sun all day if you want to around the pool.  Though plenty of shade if you need it.

Hotel extremely clean and maintained to a very high standard.  As Chef, Silver does a fabulous job and after you've eaten you get a lovely platter of fresh fruit to share - on the house!

Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Clio from the 6th Sept-27th sept due to my normal apartments were fully booked but  I had a really nice time  at the Clio and the famly were very welcoming and the rooms were cleaned on a regular basis with clean sheets and towels every two days which was very nice. The rooms are lovely they have a tv in which has english movies on at nigh. I hope to go back to the clio next year as it is 100% a lovely place.

I travelled on my own to Alykes as an independent traveller and was looked after very well at the Clio.  I was collected from the airport and taken back without any problems.  The rooms are spotless and very cosey.

The pool bar offers a good selection of food and drinks and its great - always fresh and very tasty.  Always leave some space though for the complimentary fruit - its beautiful and shouldnt be wasted

Beautiful views of the mountains from the balcony and cleaning staff were always very polite if they visited whilst you were still in your room (on those rainy days).

A family run hotel which truly shows you the hospitality of the greeks.

Would recommend to anyone visiting Alykes - you will be made very welcome and if you need anything its never too much trouble.

Although did not stop at Clio Hotel we have eaten there on may occasions during our three visits to Alykes.  The family that own and run this hotel are most friendly and hospitable.  After every meal we were then given a complimentary platter of fresh fruit.   Had we not found our ideal holiday stay, this would be the hotel I would choose.

We stayed here for a week and were very happy with the choice we had made.  The owner (Silver) was very friendly.  We were greeted with a free drink and a beautiful platter of fresh fruit.  The apartments are clean and very spacious.  The poolside is also very clean and there were lots of sunbeds available.  The apartments are located within a 10 minute walk of the centre of town. The bar was open until the last person went to bed and the food they served was very nice.

We would definately return to this hotel in the future.

A nice little (about 30 rooms) family run hotel.  Vicki and her husband, and father own this 30 room hotel.  It's clean, quite newly built, pale yellow walls, settee in the rooms, great air conditioning, superb idea of putting sliding doors on the balconies with mosquito nets in the panel so you can leave the doors open without fear of being bitten alive.

Nice little pool area and a Greek night every Friday which the family participates at with dancing, barbeque etc.

Near the salt pans so it's about 800 or so metres to the beach and main strip of restaurants, bars etc but a quiet location and beautiful view of the mountains from all the balconies!
If you want to hire a car don't bother with the places in the main town or through your rep - go directly through the hotel owners who will get you a great hassle free deal for about €40 per day.

For a hassle free, well thought out studio room or 1 bedroom apartment which is impeccably clean, and convenient without being on top of all the cafes and bars, this is a great choice.  The Olympic holidays apartments across the way also looked pretty nice.
