Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

Am going back to Zante for the 3rd year running, and to Dennys Inn. Was introduced to the Island by my sister and when I first arrived I thought she had brought me to the 3rd world!!!The airport is an experience!. Dennys Inn is wonderful, the staff are brill especially Andreas the night porter who helped my sister clear up my bright blue drink induced accident on my 1st year!!!They did let me back the 2nd year and they remembered me and my sister (dont know why!!). Also have met some lovely people who go to Dennys Inn every year, hopefully they will be there when we go in July. (You know who you are Pete & Ellie,Yiannis,Alison and Kirsty,Tony,Karen and Liam,Steve and Wendy and Danny and Sue). Flying out there on the 11th July so will hope to catch up with you all. Also will Tony and Steve be doing another karaoke duet!!!! Hope so, as you were stars last year!!!If we see you we can all have a cold Mythos together round the pool. Also if a member of staff is reading this can you give us a room on the same floor as reception as we have trouble getting our cases up and down the stairs,(Also easier for me when I have to help Jeannie to bed after a few G&Ts!!!)

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

sorry i forgot to put excellent for everything. Also Jeannie yes we will meet on saturday to try on all our holiday gear. See you soon. Also we may need some practise for the hotel karaoke (well you might, but i dont!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Rosie B

there are no hairdryers in the room, but you wont need one as it is so hot (even in the evening) that you end up sweating if you use a hairdryer. All you have to do is wash your hair and sit on your balcony for half an hour or so drinking a cold Amstel or Mythos and your hair will be dry. I am going back to Dennys In on the 11th July so the couple who are going in July I may see you there. I am going with my sister (we are a tad older than you) and my 19 year old daughter. You will have a whale of a time.If you are serious clubbers(i.e drink and dance till 6am) then you can go into Laganas as it is not far away, but there is plenty to do in Kalamaki until the small hours, Just dont wake the dogs on the way back to hotel!!!!.

Rosie B

Giles, There is a good snack bar at Dennys but it closes at about 7. Do not worry though as there are a lot of restaurants close by (about 10 mins walk and you can eat at a different one every night and still not have sampled them all).It is only a 5 min slow stroll from the beach. All rooms have balconies, but not all overlook the pool area. The evening entertainment is basic but as it is close to restaurants and bars you do have the choice. Best night at hotel is the Saturday karaoke. As i said in earlier comment if you are serious clubbers Laganas is not far away (short taxi ride).

Down Under - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B  (01 August 2004)

Emma, for your information life does not finish at 40. Both my sister and I still enjoy going out and having a good time. We have visited Zante for 3 years on the trot now and spent most nights at this bar,and had some good times. My daughter came on holiday with us this year and was geared up for some good nights here, however how the place has changed since last year. Even my daughter who is 19 so still young, was quite disgusted with the way very under age people were easily getting drinks, and acting. This place is great until 12 midnight, then i suggest the more mature person (over 18s) finds other clubs.By the way both my sister and I are over 40 but not ready for the slippers and ovaltine brigade yet and in fact Emma we stayed out at other clubs till 4am!!!!!.

Castello - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Rosie B  (01 August 2004)

If this is the place above the fire club then we must have gone on a bad night, cos the service was slow, the staff were not very polite, and the food was not very good, also was one of most expensive emals during our fortnight.

Rosie B  (02 August 2004)

we are all entitled to our opinions!! I have put comments on lots of these places both good and bad,as that is what they are for. Each to their own and I will not comment anymore about this bar, i will let everyone make their own decision, and hope they make the right one.

Castello - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Rosie B  (03 September 2004)

Hi I am really sorry if I got the restaurants muddled up,obviously if this is not the one above the fire club then i cant actually say i have eaten there. but i did eat at the one above the fire club and my previous comment still stands, it was not very nice and slow slow service, but i cannot remeber what it was called. Sorry once again to Castellos for getting it wrong.I promise I will find your restaurant next year and sample your food which is obviously superb according to the coments on this page

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

Hi Pete. Rosie here (from Rosie and Jeannie). Glad to see you are all coming to Denys Inn too this year. It is getting like a right old reunion!!!! Jeannie and I arrive on the 17th July so we will have 1 week where we cross over (24th-31st). I do hope that is the week for the greek dinner as it will be nice to see Lionel again!!! Steve and Wendy are coming out on 17th as well. Yiannis and family and Tony and family arrive the same day  as you!!! I will make sure Mythos are lined up for you all on arrival. Maybe we can all go out on the Sunday evening for a meal (I am sure Dias will accomodate us all!!) Looking forward to seeing your newest recruit (Jacob).

Hope you are all well. On a different note I notice you mentioned to Yiannis about not needing a new strip for the premiership but at least they did not get beat 6-2 by Coventry!!! I am sure the Kearney crew will have something to say to you about that!!( I am not stirring it, honest!!!).
Love to all you family  Rosie

The comment by Fiona on 15/06/2005 is the only negative comment about this hotel, so please no one be put off by it. Read all the other positive comments as they are really what Dennys Inn is like.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

Have just returned from holiday in Kalamaki. Went to Venue bar (as I did last year) and it was better than last year, due to the new Karaoke host Seamus. He is mad, but a great guy, and makes everyone feel welcome.Michael is brilliant as a DJ and keeps the music going  between karaoke songs, and it is good music too. Tony, Donna and all the staff at theVenue are brilliant, and they serve the best cocktails going and the cheapest (and I am an expert!!). The girls who take your orders for drinks are really good and have good memories as when yoiu have had a few and can't remember what you are drinking they will remeber for you!! Also the toilets are the best and cleanest in Zante let alone Kalamaki!!!!. When I return next year I will be heading for the Venue, and everyone who is going to Kalamaki should go as you will not be dissapointed..  Seamus, if you are reading this Jeannie says Hello, and is busy  marking your homework!!!!!!!!!.  .

Rosie B

This is in response to a post I have read by a Mr William Gordon. The hotel is lovely and friendly but then I would think this as I do live in a council house!!!!!, I am overweight oh and I enjoy a cheeseburger (not 5 a day though!!!). If you want luxury then I sggest you pay thousands and go on a luxury holiday prefrebly a cruise but I am sure you will find something to moan about (as I am sure overweight ,council house tenants go on cruises too!!) whatever you do. In fact I think William Gordon may be a pseudonym I think in fact you are called Victor Meldrew. I agree with Jeannie and Wendy that the staff are lovely and welcoming and you are actually remebered by name by staff and owners which gives this hotel a family feel, you don't get that many places. Oh and in the 4 years I have been coming to Dennys Inn  and the resort of Kalamaki I have never seen a rat (but then I was not there the same time as you!!).

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Rosie B  (03 August 2005)

I visited Kalamaki for the 1st time 4 yeras ago, I ate at Mermaids then and was not impressed so have not eaten there any other year, until this year upon reccomendation from guests at hotel where we were staying. The food was excellent as was the service and price. I will definately not leave it 4 years to eat there again they have redeemed theirselves, however I think 'WORLD FAMOUS MERMAID RESTAURANT' may be a bit of an over statement. as there are other restaurants that serve better food in better surroundings.

Liam, glad you got that all off your chest!!. Well said. See you soon. Love to all. (PS did your Dad leave the wig there or did he get very attached to it!!).

Hera Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

Best Lamb KLeftiko I have ever had. As well as a  shot after your meal you also got a plate of melon which was lovely. Will definately eat here again upon my return.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

I too saw Peter Kay in the venue, whilst I was there on holiday. What a nice bloke he was too. He played along the part well, with the help of Seamus. Peter if you read this hope you are keeping well, The picture I had taken with you came out great, I will have fond memories of the Venue this year. Lots of love to you all.

Red Peppers - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Rosie B  (12 August 2005)

I liked eating here last year so much it was actually a restaruant I went looking for this year. However I looked and looked, thought I was going mad, but I wasn't as I had in my purse a little card they had given me last year with Greek words on it. I was sure it was on the main Kalamaki road next to The Venue. I then found out it had been, but had closed down and is now a indian restaurant. I feel Kalamaki is being spoilt by the Indian and Chinese restaurants after all is that not what we Brits have nearly every weekend. Let us keep traditional Greek Tavernas in Kalamaki and I hope there are no more Indian/ Chinese when I return next year.

Jeannie are you having a senior moment. Your neice is called Kylie not Kyle. Hello to everyone else from Dennys. I really enjoyed my holiday and unfortunately have paid for it health wise ever since, I don't care though as I knew I would not have been able to miss out on my holiday this year. Seeing all of the staff and lovely friends we have made at Dennys over the last few years was the best medicine I could of had. Missing you all, Love to everyone.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

As anyone reading the comments for this bar can see it is a really lovely family friendly bar with lovley friendly staff. I am so shocked it still only has a 9/10 rating. If you go on holiday to Kalamaki no matter what age you will be made to feel welcome here. Tony will get you in off the street, the waitressess will keep your drinks topped up (and they remeber what you drink!) so you don't have to. and Seamus (best karaoke host ever) and Michael will keep the music going and they play all types as well. Some bars in Kalamki have youngsters as young as 13/14  dancing on their bars, getting really drunk, and have even been seen having sex in their toilets, most people will know what bar I am talking about!!, But nothing like this goes on at Venue, it is good clean family fun for all ages, and the toilets are the best in Kalamki. Cannot wait to go back next year.

Louise, You will have a brill time,it is the best place to go. My Sister and I are going out on the 16th July so look out for us. We are very quiet girls, but if you ask Bev she will point us out to you. Plenty of good restaurants take your pick when you walk up onto the main strip.Take seriously the warning from Mr Kearney regarding the McFaddens!!!!!!!!.

Rosie B

Anne. No they do not live there, but they are famous in Kalamaki. (or should it be infamous!). You need to go to Kalamaki in July to catch site of these 2 mountain climbing, mythos drinking legends, and once you have met them you will never forget them!!!

Rosie B

Sharon, I am one half of the rowdy sisters I beleive my friend John (Yiannis) is talking about. We arrive on Sunday 16th July so we will look for you. Although you may get a rowdy week with us, it is nothing compared to what happens when John and Co. arrive!!!!!!

Kirsty, You and your boyfriend will have a lovely time. The hotel is lovely. There is plenty to do in the evenings. We normally head up to the main strip to a different restaurant every night, then go into a bar, sometimes quiet but usually not so quiet! See you on 21st.

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

So looking forward to coming back to the Venue.Arrive for our holiday on 16th July. Still cannot believe the Venue does not have 10/10 on this message board as it is the best, and has the cleanest toilets in Kalamaki!!!. Hope you are being on your best behaviour Shay as your old school teacher is coming back!

Venue - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Rosie B

great place for a good night out, and you get to meet famous people (Back Strret Boys were there when I was !!). Seamus is a great host and will have you laughing all night long. All the staff are brill, and ensure everyone has a good time. Also as an added bonus they have the cleanest toilets in Kalamaki. If anyone goes to this bar say hello to Seamus for me.

Once again  another great holiday. Fith year running, and am sure will be back next year as well. Was so sorry when we had to leave last Sunday as we were leaving all our friends we have made over the last 5 years behind. Met some new friends this year who only live 2 minutes away!!! (what a small world). LOts of love to Pete and Ellie, Alison, Kirsty and Yiannis Mcfadden ( I have started my greek lessons now young Man!!), and to Richard and Jill (see you in your local). Next year hope to see Karen, Tony and Liam and Steve and Wendy aswell. To all the staff at Dennys Thanks for a great time, Love to you all.
