We were put off going here and only visited once on our second to last night, how we regret not trying it earlier.  Most of the restaurants menu's are all very similar, so a change was welcome.  We tried both the Indian and Chinese and can really say that it was lovely, so worth a try.

Have been to Alykes a few times but never went here as had heard a few bad reports but decided to go this time and loved it.  Tried both Indian and Chinese and couldn't fault it - food was lovely.  Staff were really polite and welcoming and we even got drinks on the house!!  I know that you don''t go on holiday for Chinese/Indian food but if you fancy a change from Greek one night deffo go here!

Barbara L  (21 September 2007)        10/10

Our second visit to Alykes this year.  We had several meals during our stay and the food and service was as excellent as ever.  This restuarant is family run and the owners take special care to make their customers feel welcome.  Apart from the food being great (prepared by Indian and Chinese chefs), the chairs are the most comfortable than any of the other restuarants we tried.  We have being coming to Alykes every year for the last 10 years and can highly recommend this restaurant for good food and value for money.

One thing i didnt want to do was go for a Chinese or Indian whilst in Greece but went along with the family for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed it to my surprise.

Its better than any chinese ive had here.  The noodles were fantastic as was the sweet and sour.  Tried some of my sisters biriani and onion bhaji and that was gorgeous too.  Staff were polite but didnt chat much.  Prices ok too.

Worth a visit if you fancy a change.

we went in one time and had chinese, it was lovely, a couple of nights later we went to have curry , it was un eatable , the dishes we had ordered were not supposed to be too hot , but they were so we leftit , but the person from front of house demanded to know why we had not ate our food , he completly humilated us , i was made to feel like a naughty child , i will never eat there again

Comfortable seats, superb service and excellent food, what more can one ask for.  We were always made very welcome, the waiters even remembered what drinks we had from the time before.  Will definitely be coming back in September.

Did we go to the same place??? Ours was awful, we had special chow mein - more like supernoodles with three unidentified pieces of meat, and spare ribs for starter - we got three of the smallest ribs with chewy meat on them. Yuck. And it was the most expensive meal we had there (though still not extortionate) Stick to the Greek restaurants!!

David W  (13 July 2006)

My wife and I both like Chinese food but I also like Indian, so it was a great opportunity for us to sample both cuisines.  In several visits to the restaurant we had many different meals and all were speedily prepared and all were delicious.  The staff were very friendly and looked after us like part of the family.  We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is anywhere near Alykes - and it's worth the trip from farther afield!  Thanks to all at the restaurant for making an excellent holiday even better.  See you again soon.

Katie G  (11 June 2006)

Have really enjoyed it here every time we come. The food is brilliant, the staff are helpful and friendly and the restaurant as a whole is very good. Hello to Sakis and to Dimitris who works in the one in Alykanas, me and holly won't forget playing table football with you and the others, that was funny! We hope you enjoyed your chocolate! Will be back in August and will definately be back to the restaurant for a meal or two! x

Tracey F  (03 April 2006)

I have visited this beautiful authentic restaurant many times and each time the experience just gets better and better. I eat take away Indian and Chinese food on occassion in England but I have never tasted food like this. The Marinos family offer a traditional warm greek welcome but in authentic Chinese/Indian surroundings. I highly recomend that you pay at least one visit whilst you stay in alykes. The crispy duck is second to none !!!!!!!

Ken A  (11 March 2006)

we have dined here at least seven or eight times in the past 4 visits and have never been disappointed yet , the morianos family are very attentive and the food service and prices are excellent.

Sam & Peter  (05 January 2006)

we have at least one meal here when we visit alykes, although it's a little expensive it's definitely worth it, the food is fantastic.    we have the chicken tikka massala, it's delicious!
 Delicious

Renee M  (08 October 2005)

We dined three times last week at the Taj Mahal - my partner prefers chinese whereas I prefer indian so both our choices were suitably met .

Every meal we had was excellent and I would certainly advise anyone going to Alykes not to miss the opportunity of dining there as I'm sure they would not be disappointed. The choices on the menu were very good as was the price. We are definitely dining there again on our return next year and look forward to some more excellent cuisine.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff we met and a warm thank you to Dennis for making our times at the restaurant so comfortable and pleasing.

We would like to say a BIG thank you to the Marinos family for an excellent time spent at the Taj Mahal
Alikes. (this is the 2nd year that the resturant has been open.)
We also go to the Taj Mahal in Alikanas where the food and service is also EXCELLENT.
Regards to Dimitri.

Best Wishes
Clair & Russell Vince.

The Taj Mahall is the best restaurant in Alykes.  The authentic decor is fantastic and a pleasure to look at.  The food.... well what can I say but 'excellent'.  We didn't try the restaurant until the last couple of nights of our holiday but wished we'd tried it earlier.  We had indian one night and chinese on our last night (you can mix the two if you fancy).  The crispy duck is to die for (although this wasn't my meal I kept pinching some because it was so delicious).  The red wine is morish and my glass never ran dry.  I would like to say thank you to the Marinos family for making us so very welcome and a special big hug and kiss for Antonis for looking after us.  We will be back on the 25th August and are so looking forward to sampling your marvellous cuisine (oh and wine) once again.

Can't wait to see you all again.

Love from Steph and Sam xxx

We had a Chinese meal.  Started with the duck which at €12 was smal and bland. Then chicken chow mien was just chicken and noodles and not much of either.  The rice is also  in short supply.

In all we got the least food for the highest priced meal in the resort

Helen & Malcolm  (09 August 2004)

This was very expensive and the food we had was swimming in grease and fat, we both got upset stomachs. A very disappointing meal.

Sam   (01 July 2004)

we went to the one in alikanas just down the road on the left of greedy greek. fantastic food brilliant service and the price was good better than wot u wud pay over here. recommend it to anyone

Cherylle & Azad  (06 October 2003)

The most expensive restaurant in Alykes and the worst meal we had in our 2 weeks there. The food was not very good, the meal was overpriced and the toilets were smelly and full of mosquitos.

Andrew H  (01 September 2003)

had 2 good meals here. nan breads very nice.A bit over priced but you are on holiday after all!!!.
