Crystal Beach Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Dean M

A beautiful hotel at the edge of the resort of Kalamaki.Nice pool and perfect as a couple or with kids. The beach is literally on yopur doorstep and is on of the best although there are better further along the coast away from Kalamaki and Laganas. It is very quiet in this area of a night and the food isnot bad either.Enjoy the visit and RELAX...

Gerakas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Dean M

Where do you begin. My partner and i hired a jeep for a few days and found this excellent beach. If you have kids stay inthe sunbed area as a little further on it becomes a nude bathing area not that we minded an all over tan.The sea can be very tame here but also have some very good waves. The day we went it was sunny but windy and the waves would go over your heads fun though. Also if you see people looking a bit grey here it is because of the clay cliffs here and you can get a total skin cleansing treatment for free.An excellent beach end perfect sea a must see for any visitor to Zante.

Kalamaki Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Dean M

Well this beach is a good one considering it is in a resort. Well my partner saw some baby turtles{3}.We had only been there on holiday for a few days so that made it for us.Other tourists need to learn about waste disposal as some have a total disregard for other peoples enjoyment and the turtles welfare.Go late afternoon about 2pm and you may get the sun loungers and umbrellas free we did on a few occassions.

Hermes Car Rental - (Other Things in Kalamaki)

Dean M

Well thank you Adele,Yiannis and Catherine for making our holiday an excellent one.We hired a jeep [SUZUKI JIMNI]for four days and visited almost everywhere on the island. The cost was good even better if you have a Dutch partner as battering is their currency. Poor Yiannis didnot know what had hit him. An excellent service, good quality new vehicles ours was brand new [250km on the clock] and a wonderful informative team.

Chives - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Dean M  (18 September 2001)

Well not impressed at all the Lamb Kleftico was mainly fat. There is little or no communication between waiters as wrong wine delivered and clumsy bumping into tables. My partners food was too salty not spicey as advertised. The plus point is the view over Kalamaki and seeing the planes landing or taking off.

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Dean M  (18 September 2001)

Well there are two of us that loved Mermaids. One English and one Dutch and it was an excellent place to watch the England v Germany match and the servers were ace especially tha young Albanian lad who cheered on the English and every time he came to our table England added another goal [5 goals]. So proof positive that the service is excellent.Good quality food massive portions[donot eat for at least five hours b4 visiting] and a general sense of the customer comes FIRST.

Lighthouse - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Dean M  (18 September 2001)

Great service and an excellent price for a traditional english breakfast. It is a shame that we discovered it on the last full day of our holiday also Sundays they close at twelve noon and reopen at six pm bookings are requested for a traditional sunday roast.A big portion and it kept us going for a good few hours.

Zepos Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Dean M

This has to be the BEST RESTAURANT in Kalamaki. Good food, value for money, more than excellent service that not even Mermaids could beat.We went back time after time. The chicken croquettes with chilli sauce as a starter and the Red Snapper as a main course. Also great is the Lamb as it melts in your mouth.Well one final thing to add Maryliz hello and thankyou for making a good holiday a great one. Dean and Wilco in Holland. xxx

Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Dean M

Very quiet here as main tourist area is about five mins away by taxi/car.No cash points though had to go to Zante town or Laganas.Sophias supermarket has a safe rental service for your passports and valuables not a bad price of 6000drms[12 quid] for two weeks.Relatively quiet in the evening and peaceful after midnight if you exclude the dogs howling. Well worth the two weeks spent there.

September - (Best Time to Visit)

Dean M

Well the weather is definately good in september only two evenings with rain and one was a truelly excellent electrical storm. The days were warm and yes the sea is at its best after the hot days cooking it. Sea temp avg is 26 and temp avg was in the mid thirties. The evenings can be a bit chilly though. If we wrer to go back there we would go in september again.
