Alykanas Beach Hotel

Accommodation in Alykanas

Sam A          10/10

Hello Roz,

all the staff at Alikanas Beach are great, you can have a good laugh with them all, Greek night is good fun, and the hotel has made efforts, over the past years to reduce the noise from the bar which only really affected a few rooms. The beach is really close, a maximum of 40M away from any room, and you can walk out in the sea as it is quite shallow and you have a nice view of Kefalonia, If you ever fancy a good night away from the hotel you can walk into the bar just down the road.
I love this place so much i go every year now, and seem to have people asking me if they can come with me, hope you will enjoy it, as i'm sure you will,

hope this helps

Hi
My husband and I are going to Zante for the first time this year, we have booked with Kosmar at Alikanas Beach Studios & Apartments in May.  Really looking forward to going away (first time without the kids!)
We have been to crete before, love the greek life, we like a fairly low-key night life and a good beach.  Any info on what we will see when we get there will be appreciated, we just want a good relaxing fun holiday.
Cheers, Ros

Nikos I'm Back On Sunday Son Stock Up!

Sarah B

Well I think Im in quite a good position to comment on this accomodation as Ive stayed there 6 times from the very 1st week it opened.  This year my son had an accident and would like to say a great big THANK YOU to the owners, Sue and the manager Nikos for looking after my family so much and making our holiday as pleasurable as possible. Dennis you was fantastic as always and supportive it really meant a lot to me and Jake when you was at the hospital. There was a few new staff this year and they were as friendly as the familiar faces and Nikos invited another 1 of his brothers this year which was nice, I'll know his whole family at this rate.

Needless to say I'll be there again  in 2007 for the 1st 2 weeks of August, and I know a few people Ive met the last couple of years will be there too, so look forward to that.
Ive read some of the other comments and people have moaned about stuff, but it is so minor its hardly worth moaning about, I mean come on a kettle, its not exactly a big deal!!!!!!!!!
Entertainment is low key, but it is a family hotel and the management take it very seriously not too interfere with peoples sleep.
This family run hotel are genuinely caring people who invest to improve the hotel year after year, even little things like a firework display this year at greek night, that is a new feature what they didnt have to do, but they really aim to please and if they can do it they will.
So congratulations to the owners for getting it right and good luck with your new venture in alykes I'll be interested to visit that in 2007.
See you nest year and miss you all.
YAMMAS

We too were swapped from our original choice. Cant fault the hotel or service. Apartments are clean location is great. The only negative comment is the entertianment which is ok apart from karyoke. We had to listen to the same guy who coudn't sing but loved himself singing the whole night!!!!!!!! Shame spoilt an otherwise perfect holiday

Debbie R

This hotel is a great choice for a relaxing family holiday. The staff were all cheerful and helpful, the accomodation was good apart from the plumbing, the bath took ages to drain and although we complained, nothing had been done about it when we left. The aircon is costly, but at this time of year it's an essential. Recommend you take your own travel kettle as kettles and toasters are only avaible for a fee!
The hotel is right by the beach and the sea is ideal for kids at it stays shallow a long way out. Watersports are available on the beach. The food at the appartments is limited but good, however there is a good selection of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, and the local horse taxi's are a good way to travel if you want to go a bit further out. I would thoughrouly recommed the family run Mantelena, particularly if you like well cooked traditional greek food and friendly service. The Lemon Tree is also a good choice, but it's worth taking a horse taxi as it's quite a walk! On the whole a great holiday.

Katrin S

We were given this holiday as a replacement to our original choice of hotel just up the road from Katrina's Kitchen. Although this hotel is all that everyone has commented on, it was not what we wanted. O.K if you want Kareoke, Quiz nights, and crooners pretending to be the rat pack - undone dicky bows and all!. Saying that, the location was great being that it was right on the beach.  The waiting staff were great Christos, Dennis, Demitris, Demitra and Andreas - service with a smile. Can't knock the food.  Be warned...the air con costs 76 euro's per unit! , plus if you want a kettle/toaster that's extra too - we managed with the little pot.We got well hacked off with running the gauntlet of the leaflets everynight. Even though we have made some criticisms this is a great family hotel.

Martin S

We have just arrived back from our 3rd visit to Zante, 2nd visit to Alikanas Beach Studios and Apartments, what a wonderful time we have had yet again. Apartments brill, very clean basic but had everything you need for when you are on hols. (The small milk pan works very well for boiling water instead of hiring kettle!). The pool was lovely, ideal for kids as had smaller kids pool to, the view is to die for as you are just steps away from the sea.(which is safe as it is very shallow for ages) Everywhere was really clean which is nice to see if you are a fussy devil like me!!. Staff were faultless especially Angelina, Demitria, the two Dennis's and last but not least Andreos. Our Kosmar rep Linzi was ace very helpful always seemed to find us at happy hour with our cocktails in the wicker chairs!!!. We must recommend the Poisiden taverna for eating out just down the road in Alikanas anyone going must try there, but everwhere was also very good. Went to Zante water village small but kept kids occupied for the day which is what you need. Also the turtle spotting boat trip was good, lovely swim stops at the keri caves well recommended. Overall a wonderful place to stay with enough tavernas and shops nearby as long as you don't want night clubs its great.

And last of all so many thanks to our brill friends we went with. We have had so many laugh's this holiday it wouldn't have been the same without you guys. Luv ya all !!!!! Here's to 2008 same time same place .
     YAMMAS "I'm a Turtle" !!!!!!

Mark T

Had a brilliant holiday with great friends.  Would definitely recommend it.  Wicker chairs by the sea were extremely comfy with a cocktail at happy hour, thanks to Dennis.   Bar staff were fantastic especially Angelina, Demetria and Andreos.  Fantastic location, quiet and great for kids (although we didn't see much of ours because they were having that much fun).  Would recommend eating at Poseidon although meals all over were good and we did not have a bad meal any night.  Rooms were spacious although beds were a bit hard.  A big thanks to LINZI the Kosmar Rep who kept us laughing- especially over the choice of inflight movie!!! she was really helpful.  Water Park was fun and we went on the turtle sightseeing boat trip which was good for us but not for the only turtle that was spotted and quickly surrounded by half a dozen boats.  We liked swimming in the sea from the boat and kids were provided with life jackets so they too could join in.  We went for a meal to the Olympic Kitchen at Alikeyes which was highly recommended and you had to book in advance.  Ideal for couples but would not recommend it with kids.  The headmistress sits at her desk watching your every move and the kids menu has a list of what not to do.... i.e. children must be escorted to the toilet, breakages will be paid for and they must not use their cutley as musical instruments.  There are no life guards on duty in the sea, although one day there was a david haselhoff lookalike sat in the tower!!!! Never did find out if it was really him.

Overall a fantastic holiday and we would go again (hopefully with the same friends who are now even better friends - thanks Beetroot and Minty)

Trina B

We have just come back from two weeks holiday at Alykanas Beach hotel, which was our first visit to Zante. We found it  absolutely fantastic. The staff are lovely and the accomodation was marvellous. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the surrounding areas were always immaculate. We have stayed on several Greek islands and always gone self catering. We found that the kitchenettes were very well equipped and we were able to cook meals if we wanted to. Normally the appartments are so badly equipped that you can only boil a pan of water!
We took our two teenage boys for the first time and they can't wait to go back. They enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings which finished at about midnight and then we took them into local bars where they could listen to music. We felt very safe wherever we went.
We would like to thank Sue, Dennis, Julie, Angela and Letta for making our stay so wonderful.
We made some wonderful friends and would like to thank (the Somerset lot) Martin, Sue, Ben, James, Alicia and Leah for entertaining us at the kareoke and round the pool.
On our second week we spent alot of time with ( the Welsh lot) John, Sean (white boy) Lynny and Cath (the drips) and of course Ceri and Jess who havn't stopped texting my boys since we got back. Thanks for being so much fun.
We also met (the Coventry lot) Carl, Rachel and Ellie who we would have liked to spend more time with  but we'd have had to stay another week!!
A word of advice- go to the entertainment and join in because it really helps you get to know everyone. If you want a wild, loud holiday this place will not be for you but if you want a quieter family holiday then go for it.

Sonia

Yep, Nikos is still around.  Got a really posh car this year too.

Jean O

We booked a cheap last minute deal didn't expect much at all for £'s. What a surprise, Great Apart hotel, service form all staff A1, very very well maintained, immaculately clean, Rooms are basic, very big and cleaned daily (couldn't fault in any way), you need to pay for kettle, toaster, saftey deposit box & aircon if you want it about 70 euros for week, Eating at hotel good for breakfast/lunch excellent didn't try evening but no reason to doubt.5 minute walk into town gives you choice of many fabulous restaurants, Beach is 2 mins, shallow water you can go long way out before any drop very safe. Next door is bar called Ammos drinks & food is great and fab service, family run traditional Greek cooking. It was quiet the week we were there, pool area ideal for families, immaculate, entertainment each evening if you want it, disco, karaoke, quiz, Greek night etc, expect noise till midnight or just after, but nothing too crazy bar stay open till early hours. The cheeky little cocktails are to die for try the B52's..... We were told it does get lot busier and noisier when UK school holidays start.  We are quite choosy where we stay but needed a break as a last minute bargain this was fantastic. Feel it would be ideal for couples most age groups and famillies, if your looking for total peace and tranquility or party party 24/7 this is not for you. Would have no hesitation in paying full price. Planning on going back in September. All in all a great holiday.

Charlotte B

Just got back from the alikanas Beach Studuos and Apartments on the 16th July. I must say that it was very nice, although i do have a few gripes, that no one seems to have mentioned, the first is that when i book a self catering holiday i don't expect to have to hire the kitchen when i get their. 20 euros for the kettle and 20 euros for the toaster? be warned.
Also the constant barrarge of  leafleting on the road out of the hotel.  By the second week it was like running the gauntlet. Staff were very friendly though.

Julian H

Fantastic yet again to be in Alykanas and Alykes for another week 4th July, stayed in Alykes but couldn't resist going to beach pool to reminice about our stay here 4 weeks earlier. Great weather again including the massive thunder and lightning show and minor tremor! Won the quiz again!!! (she realy should rotate the questions hehe) gave 1st prize away though.Brilliant to see all those friendly faces from the staff, definately be back.

Walk down the beach to Alykes and over the stone bridge (much quicker) if you don't wanna get the horse

Vickie P

Just To Re-iterate my husbands Comments below. This Hotel was definately the best we've ever stayed in. And the resorts of Alykanas and Alykes are really worth a holiday. English people seem to think that Zakynthos (Zante) only has the resort of Laganas which is a shame, because Alykanas and Alykes are very very nice, quiet enough for a relaxing holiday, but there are a few bars which can get a bit lively if you want.

The Food in the hotel was fantastic (even for a fussy eater like me). I must recommend the Garlic Chips with Melted Cheese BEAUTIFUL!!

The only critisism (and it's nothing to do with the hotel or it's staff) is that it is a family hotel, and when it's a family hotel, there are bound to be lots of children, and during our 2nd week there was a group of 4 15/16 year olds, who were a bit of a pain in the backside. But I think that was only because we went just before the holidays (end of June), and I'm sure that a little earlier in the season you wouldn't have this problem, nor would it be so HOT!! (40-45 degrees for most of the 1st week, and very high 30's for the second).

I Must also recommend getting a "Horses Taxi" into Alykes, you can get them from outside the hotel, and for 10euros, it's well worth it. Or if you are feeling a little more energetic (and it's not too hot) you must walk down to Alykes - (come out of the Hotel, and walk down to Hotel Letsos, then turn back on yourself (to the left a little) and walk straight, just before the hill, go Right down the slip road, and continue to walk until you reach a bridge across the river, go right after the bridge on the main road, and walk through) you will then be in the centre of Alykes, which has some very good souvenir shops, and very nice restaurants and taverners (Zorbas being the best ever).

Anyway, to Sum up, this is a VERY VERY good place to stay, and I definately say you should go at least once!

HI GUYS. WENT TO ALYKANAS BEACH AT END OF JULY FOR THE 1ST TIME AND EVERYTHING WAS BRILLIANT.YES THE BAR CAN BE NOISY BUT NEVER PAST 10.30 ISH. ANYWAY, GO DOWN THERE AND HAVE A LOOK EACH NIGHT AND JOIN IN THE FUN. YOU WONT REGRET IT. ALL STAFF, WITHOUT EXCEPTION DO ALL THEY CAN TO HELP YOU.

THIS CONFUSION WITH THE BEACH AND VILLAGE!!!! THE ALYKANAS BEACH AND THE ALYKANAS VILLAGE ARE COMPLETELEY SEPERATE.THE BEACH CAN BE BOOKED THROUGH KOSMAR, AND THE VILLAGE BOOKED THROUGH THOMSON I THINK.
BEST PLACES TO EAT ARE : THE HOTEL DURING THE DAY. THE FOOD AND THE VIEWS ARE BOTH EXCELLENT. EVENING : POSEIDON, DYONISOS IN ALYKANAS AND ZORBAS IN ALYKES. THE STAFF IN ZORBAS ARE SO FRIENDLY.
CLEANERS COME EVERY DAY WITH FRESH TOWELS, THE ROOM WAS THE BEST IVE STAYED IN IN GREECE, AND THE POOL WAS FANTASTIC (NEVER STRUGGLED TO FIND A SUNBED)
IF YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING HERE, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU WILL HAVE A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY NO MATTER WHAT AGE YOU ARE!!!

Dave R

We have just come back from our 2nd two week stay here and it's great, the staff are all excellent and very friendly and very helpfull. Rooms are always kept very clean with cleaners in everyday.
This visit myself, my wife and our 5 year old son were in a single room apartment along the side of the complex. The only niggles for us were the constant reserving of sunbeds with towels which the hotel doesn't seem to mind and i couldn't see much need for as there were always plenty of beds, although watching the young girl struggling past our balcony every morning barely able to see past the mound of towels she was laiden with made us smile.
The other point which iv'e seen raised here is the noise, we were just 3 rooms away from the bar although we faced away from it. The noise from the bar itself for us was never an issue it was always finished for midnight and never that loud the main problem was those late night revelers coming back and not worring to much about the rest of us with kids who were in bed in fact the couple in the room opposite us woke us up every night for a week at 1 - 2am still can't blame the hotel for that.
I thoroughly recommend the place and can't wait to go back

Simon C

Just returned 5th July from 2 weeks holiday in Zante, We stayed at Alikansas Beach Village, Excellent place, Beautifull Weather (Was over 100 degrees every day!! the 14 days we were there!) Location Excellent, Friendly staff, Beautiful swimming pools. My only moan is the 8Euro's daily for the Air conditioning!! Not been tight but we spent £1450 on the holiday for 3 of us so to be told an extra 8Euro's a night is annoying, Especially when it's obvious it's needed

Anyone booking though it really is an excellent place to stay (",)

Just come back from staying here 18.6.06 with family and friends 13 in all and i have got to say this is the cleanest appartments we have stayed in in Greece. I would like to thank the staff for all they did for us and hope to return in the future. Only one gripe and that it can get noisy on a night time in rooms near the pool bar so ask for rooms away from the bar when booking.

Once again thanks Nick.

Julian H

The AB village looks like a concrete jungle (My perception from my room at Studio Apartments), both are in a fantastic spot but Studios & Apartments much more personal and well above the star rating, I know where I'd rather be!!!

Debbie W

Hi we got back sunday 4th June, we had a brilliant time staff were great especially Sue. It was very clean and friendly plenty to do for all ages i am hoping to go back very soon i love the place. The Greek night was fantastic, i have been all over Zante and i have never been to a resort than can match Alykanas.

Thanks Sue for waving Paul off with the flags (bet you had a party later). Hope to be back soon take care all of you.

I stayed at the Alikanas Beach Apartments in May last year with my boyfriend and we had a fantastic time.  We were in a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the garden. The apartment was spacious and really clean and we had a lovely view (the garden and beach from one side of the balcony and the beach looking towards Alykes from the other side.

There was not much noise at all from the bar, only when karaoke was on and even that finished at a reasonable time. There were quite a few young children around and I didn't hear their parents complain at all.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and always up for a laugh or a chat at the bar.  We are going back again this May and I'm literally counting down the days! The whole island was so lovely, any other holiday destination has a lot to live up to!   The only not so good thing is the airport departure lounge but I believe the new terminal should be ready this summer anyway.

33 days and counting.........

Ali L

Our family went last year (August) and had an absolute fantastic

time     We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment at the back of the complex
and did not find it noisy at all.   You have two doors onto your small balcony -
one is a shutter type and then one is double glazed so its double thickness to
obviously keep out the noise at night.  My two kids are very light sleepers and we
found there to be no problems.  You will have a BRILLIANT time and I am very
JEALOUS of you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ali xx

Julie

Dave Thanks for the info on the location of the apartments. Is it noisy though??

Dave P

Hi.

Just regarding the comment about the 2 bedroom apartment.
All of the 2 bedrooms are at the back of the complex facing onto gardens or the bar itself.
If you look at the Kosmar brochure, where the photo is taken from, this is where all of the apartments are.
Hope this helps you and have a fantastic time!

Charlotte B

Smile Hiya karen

im charlotte and i have been going for the last 4 years,
i cant actually tell u how much conditioning is but i can say that the greedy greek is ok but there are better resturants i town,
The staff are relly freindly d kind and the food is really nice and tasty Tongue
I am also goin in August so i might be there 2 when u go!!!!
I hope that you have found my info usefull
luv

Matthew H

Stayed in June/July 2005, excellent staff, location, beach. Yes the bar is noisy but close the windows and switch the air con. on. We took two children (6 & 7) and two grandparents 58 & 60 and all had a wonderful time. Must reccom. the Lemon Tree restaurant. We have rebooked for 2006 to take the other set of grandparents and will report again!

Danni

Hi I think these apartments are the best the staff are so friendly and are really helpfull, i think the bar staff are really good and keep the guest entertained, hi to nikos and terri who are lovely. and not forgetting Tani who kept coming back. you are all brilliant, see you all this summer as i'm coming back to work over here. see you all soon luv Danni

Sonia

Plenty of bars and restaurants to try.  I personally don't rate the Greedy Greek, there are other places far better - Mantalena (most traditional in village), Dionysis(sp?), Romanza to name just a few and even more in Alykes.  A good bar just along the beach from you is the Mill Bar - well worth a visit.

Karen V

We have just booked to stay at the Alykanas beach studios in august for a week and i wondered if any one could give us a bit of info about the area and the apartments ie were is good to eat GREEDY GREEK ?? (have heard this place mentioned but have not heard wether it is good or bad?)and any good bars as we have two children aged 6 and 4 and we have never been to greece before. Does any one know how much the air conditioning costs ?? Any info or tips would be great ! karen x

Lee W

the hotel was good and staff brillant, we went in october would not recommend anybody goes this late in season, bars and restaurants starting or already closed. however you must go to the dilemma bar just outside the hotel - brillant - top man sakis will sort u out with a beer or 2

Lisa

We stayed here in August and had a fantastic time. The hotel is spotless and the staff are really friendly. After reading Julians comments on the murky swimming pool i couldn't help thinking to

myself why oh why did he let his kids swim in it,machines break and not surprisingly if human poo is
blocking them up.Its up to us parents to look out for our kids.If anyone is looking for a good family
holiday this hotel is the place to be.Looking forward to seeing all the staff next August.Keep up the good
work.

Alex

alykanas is great this year was our second time and we are booking for next year, it is the cleanest and friendliest place i have stayed at and is in the perfect location it is right on the beach and is only a 5 minute walk to alykes so there is plenty choice of bars and restaurants. the staff are the best angelo x, peter x, christos x, and fabio n nikos miss you all loads your fab thanks for a top holiday guys!! we were staying rite beside the bar and i never thought noise was a problem once one of the balcony doors was shut (possibly because we were usually one of the last ones out of the bar!) but i would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to greece i would definetly give it 5 stars*****

Julian P

The positive comments here are all correct, this is a nice place to stay. Modern, clean, next to the beach and the main resort and music is turned (about) 12.00 midnight. Staff are very professional and friendly and the clientelle are a cut-above the chicken-and-chips brits you often find on tour. There is Karaoke and bingo late at night for anyone feeling homesick.

There is a vast selection of restaurants and bars within walking distance but choose carefully as the quality does vary.

Only complaint was the pool which was very murky with myself and two sons got an ear infection - my eldest needing a 100 Euro doctors visit (nice work if you can get it). There was yellow 'gunk' in the jacuzzi so it had to be closed for the day (this empties into the pool) and human pooh found wedged behind the stairs. Urghh!

Anne W

We stayed here last year and it was very good.  We had a room as far from the bar as possible but this year we asked for the same room but could not get it so they put us in the honeymoon suite.  Wonderful.  After 30 years of marriage, honeymooners does not really sum us up but the room was brilliant.  Views over the beach and the road up in to town (if you can call it that) wonderful time.  No complaints at all,. Well maybe one, why oh why do they persist in karaoke!!!.  I think you should only be able to participate  if you have a certificate to prove that you can sing.  After many years of being a capitve audience (stuck behind a bar being forced to listen I think makes me a bit of an expert). The drunker they become, they think they can sing as well as the original artiste.  Garbage!!!  Utter  garbage

Barry J

Just back from a great weeks stay. Rooms are clean, facilities are excellent, food is great, staff are superb and will definitely return. Contrary to what others have said, I had no problem with the noise even though I was staying right opposite the bar. Music is turned down after 12 every night, and even the obligatory bingo and karaoke werent too bad! I would defiinitely recommend Alikanas Beach Studios and Apartments to anyone.  Only complaint of the holiday was the nightmare of an airport on the way home!

Stayed 21st to 28th August, party of 10. I could not fault the apartements, staff or facilities of the Alykanas Beach Apart/Hotel. I have never booked to go the same resort or accommadation twice but this will be an exception to the rule !!!!. I am a chef by trade so I like good quality food when I eat out and I was not let down. For overall servive, cost and quality the number 1 restaurant for us was " The Gready Greek". Boat trip to the Blue Caves was good value and worth a visit if you get chance. Book with the kiosk on the jetty in Alikes as its by speed boat and a 3 hr trip is better than all day on the sea if you are taking children. This was seven days of pure enjoyment, roll on next summer !!!.Thanks to you all at Alykanas Beach Hotel !!!!

I have come back from greece for the fourth time and we have booked up to go again next year. I am missing the staff including: vanessa, ancelo, peter, jasmine, sue and last but not least NIKOS. This year was the best year we have had and every one was really friendly and kind.

See You Next Year Greece
Missing you all
Luv Charlotte And The Gang

Karen M

This accomadation is lovely and very clean. We stayed from 8th August ( should have been 7th, but had 27 hour flight delay ) until 21st August. The only downside is the noise from the bar, we were in room 118, which is above reception.

Most of the time we were so tired (and drunk!) the noise didn't bother us too much. Apart from other guests on our last night who were constantly argueing and banging anything in reach. If you are easily kept awake, I would recomend taking earplugs, we left some in the safe for the next guests.
Overall we liked the apartments, there is lots for the kids and the resort is fab. If you want a quiter pool, try Bonkers Pool Bar down the road. Strongly recomend the Trainaki, Turtle trip and trip to Zante town, also the coach island tour. If you get a guide called Kostas, he is great.
Greedy Greek, Cosy Corner, Dionasis, Neraider, Appolo , Lemon Tree are great restaurants also the food in the beach hotel is good but is only till 5pm.  The Jam Inn is great, D.N.A, Iguana , Letsos, Busters,
Go on the Trainaki Greek night, never tasted such fab wine, doesn't give you too bad head next day!

Stayed here from 24/7/05 till 7/8/05, this was our second time in Alykanas but first time in this accomodation.  The standard of the rooms was excellent , there were not enough sunbeds for the number of guests and you had to be up at the crack of dawn to get one  as towels were put on from as early as 6.00am. We were in room 133 which is right over the bar with loud music playing all day and well into the night (2.30am ) I went and complained to reception and the lovely night porter got the music turned off so if you do go to Alykanas Beach and want some rest then don't stay in room 133. Other than our friends having a 29 hour delay the rest of our stay was wonderful

Charlotte B

We are really looking forward to our hols starting on 24th July and wondering if anyone is going out there the same time as us. We have two children 8 & 7 (girl and boy). Can anyone tell us if you can cash travellers cheques at the hotel? Is it best to take Euro cheques or Sterling? and how much is the air con and safety deposit boxes for a two week stay? HAPPY HOLIDAYING!!! CAN'T WAIT !!!!

Ian S

We have just returned and would like to add a few comments,

Cleanliness

We have never stayed in cleaner apartments in Greece. The staff works very hard to keep the complex spotless.

Quietness

It depends on witch rooms you have as to the level of noise. If you are in one of the two bedroom apartments then you are facing the inner area where the hotel bar is, You will be subjected to the karaoke at full blast, twice a week until 0030 hrs, Not at all good with a 14 month old baby. The compare is so bad that he wouldn't even get an audition in the Phoenix club (NEXT), but if you shut the doors and put on the air conditioning it's just about bearable. This hotel markets itself on families but I would recommend not taking children if their bedtime is before midnight.

The worst rooms face toward the Beach Village and over look the Amos Beach Bar; these boys really know how to party, no sleep till at least 0530.

The staff are very friendly and it's a good place to stay, but not with babies. I would recommend this hotel to friends as long as they are aware of the noise, If you've already booked don't worry as I am sure you will have a great time. The best place for breakfast is Bonkers Bar 2 minuets up the road; the pool there is a lot quieter too. Dilemma Cocktail bar next door is highly recommended.

click to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlarge Heya! This is Alex and  Beka who went to Alykanas Beach last year and are going again this year in less than two weeks ahh! Well we LOVED  it, we played pool loads and the staff where very generous and made our holiday fab! We got chucked in the pool a few times though, and made lots of friends. There's plenty people our ages there. And Peter you wont remember us but were looking forward to seeing you in less than two weeks!! We also can't wait to meet up with Costa at the Costas bar in Alykes for everyone who's going to Zante go there he's great! He'll teach you Greek!    see all you greeks in 2 weeks!! xx xx xx

Brian C

Just got back from hols. The hotel and apartments were excellent. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.Special mention to my favourite people the bar staff, Peter was quiet and polite and Angelo was funny and very helpful but special mention to wee `Dennis` who looked after us from day one to the end of our hols.Only downer was the airport going back home and getting stuck outside in the queue in the sun which was very hot.Highly recommend the Appollo rest. great portions and good prices. overall a really enjoyable holiday.

Just got back from a week here. What an excellent place. We went with our 10 month old boy and had no problems at all. The studios are clean, very roomy and good for Greek standards . We were quite close to the bar, which was loud at night but that didn't bother us or wake my son up. Because we were close to bar and reception we had the maids knocking the door at about 10am - try and get out before they come in.

The staff are excellent especially Sue on reception and Vanessa ( Kosmar Rep). I've never seen a rep at 1 place some many times a week and always willing to talk.

The only down side is the annoying kids handing your leaflets every night for the restaurants when you walk down the road from the complex. Also they have a problem with the sunbeds. If you can't get 1 round the pool ( because they are free and everyone uses them ) you have to go to the beach where they charge 6 euro's even though you are staying in the hotel / studios and even if you are only there for 1 hour they expect you to pay full price.

Donna S

Claire,
I have been visiting Zante twice a year for the last 4 years and always stay at Alykanas. The atmosphere is wonderful and ideal for a young family like yourselves. I have heard there are some adult shops but certainly not near Alykanas. There are quite a lot of  "burberry smuthered" people but  most are all very friendly. I am sure you will have a lovely time.
TIPS

  • I would recommend getting air con in your room
  • Go on the boat trip to the ship wreck-well worth seeing
  • Ask for NO ice in drinks- my daughter got food poisoning from the ice and was very ill (because the water is not drinkable)
  • Hire a car if you wish to see the full beauty of Zante    Donna

John T

CLAIRE   like the previous comment we have stayed in alykanas for the past 7 years also stayed in these apartments for the last 3 years all i can say is we must be walking about blindfolded do not worry you and your family will have a wonderful time

Claire S

Thanks Ian!  Your positive (and sensible!) comments have put my mind at rest!

Claire.

Ian S

CLAIRE.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN GOING TO ZAKYNTHOS FOR ABOUT 9 YEARS AND WE HAVE NEVER SEEN A BROTHEL OR A SEX SHOP. ITS NOT THE SORT OF THING I GO LOOKING FOR, BUT IVE BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES AND WOULD EASLEY REMEMBER IF I HAD SEEN ONE. AS FOR THE APARTMENTS IVE SEEN THEM AND MY IN-LAWS HAVE STAYED THERE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THEM. THEY WOULD NOT HAVE STAYED THERE IF THERE WAS EVEN A HINT OF BURBERRY. I DOUBT IF MS HOPCROFT HAS EVEN VISITED THE APARTMENTS OR EVEN PLANET EARTH FOR THAT MATTER.

Claire S

After reading a couple of the previous comments... "chav tastic" ... is this really a good place for a quiet young (ages 7 and 5) family holiday in August?!  Hope so 'cos we are booked and looking forward to it.... I think?!!!!

Alykanas B

Hi Gill the telephone number is zante 26950 85022-25 fax zante 26950 85064

Emily H

It is right on the beach -so perfect. I would say if you like quiet places this is not for you, it was great but very loud and quite chav tastic at times. The staff were lovely especially Nikos and Peter who will remember me and my three daughters (my eldest stripped on our last night after tasting one two many cocktails) Also ladies try and restrain yourselves from sleeping with peter-he made a huge impression on my daughter's friend for several nights (if you know what i mean) but during our stay she did catch him in the act with 3 other girls! N.B to couples and adults, there are many fabulous cheap sex shops on the island  and a large array of brothels and areas for swingers-so enjoy!!!

Ian S

You can find the phone here http://www.alykanas-beach.com/ as well as other details

Gill R

please could anyone give me the telephone or fax number of the hotel alikanas beach studios and apartments? thanks

Samantha O

It's really nice, the location is brilliant. The weather is well, fantasic. If you come here, try the 'Trainaki' it is well worth your money, 10euros per adult, 5euros per child. You go to a muesuem and wine taste visit an old mueseum, absolutly brilliant. If you can come here, really fantasic.

Lorraine E

Lorraine E

A Big Hello to everyone at the Alikanas Beach Studios and Apartments. We came here twice last year and had a wonderful time. The Alikanas Beach is first class, with a location to die for right on the beach overlooking Kefalonia. Everything is kept very clean, the pool and bar are excellent, not to mention all of the staff who are very friendly. If you have booked to go here this Summer you will be sure to have a fantastic time. Enjoy!

Faye

the apartments were nice, everyone friendly, the pool was always very busy and murky, food was good but little over priced, not great nightlife or many young people in alykes or alikanas-just lots of yummy young greeks aka Sterios!! Great for little kids but not enough for adults because although everything is on hand there is very little to do. Would not go back again. Try cyprus this year-word is it is fantastic especially Paphos!

Laura M

Wot is all the fuss with peter?-he has a uni brow and is not well equipped-read all the comments on this page and all the girls who went are like "hi peter" "peter is gorgeous"-yeh fine he is fit but not in bed! about to book next years visit!

Kaleigh F

Peter the bar tender is fabulous with his equipment(not just behind the bar) and knows exactly how to use them-so have a go girls-i certainly did not complain! he got with practically every girl in Alykanis-including those with partners but nevertheless well worth it. apartments great, beds great-especially peters! hi nikos!

Sarah C

Nice apartments but the pool was always very busy-we had to be down by 8 to get a sunbed. The sea was great but there was quite strong winds. The staff were lovely- but beware of Peter- he's bit of a cheeky boy with the ladies-always got his tongue down some gals throat!..watch out for your daughters and girlfriends!!

Norma B

MY PARTNER AND I WERE AT ALIKANAS BEACH STUDIOS IN AUGUST 2OO4 AND REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY. ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL, I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR AND FOUND THAT THE STAFF WERE EXCELLANT AS FAR AS HELPING ME NOTHING WAS A PROBLEM FOR THEM, I ALSO HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY AND THE RECEPTIONIST MARINA WROTE OUT A LETTER IN GREEK FOR ME SO THAT I HAD NO PROBLEMS WHEN I WAS EATING IN OTHER PLACES. IF YOU ARE SCOTTISH AND LIKE TO DRINK SHOTS THEN ANGELOS YER MAN HE CAN MAKE THE ONES YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF TASTE GOOD. JUST ASK HIM FOR A CHEEKY VIMTO. BEST HOLIDAY EVER HAD AND HOPE TO GO BACK SOON. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE IN A WHEELCHAIR.

Charlotte B

Just a little message to Nikos because i know he reads these:
KILL THOSE MOSKITOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlotte B

I have been to Zante for 3 yrs now and every time i have been it was exelent. I stayed in the top room and it was really nice because you could see what was going on downstairs. I am going next yr in August some time with my friend and her family. If amyone is going out there before i do could they please say hello to: Peter and Angelo (the 2 barmen), Hilary (the really nice rep!!!) and last but not least Nikos and Teri!!!!!! ( BEWARE OF NIKOS AND TERI THEY PUSH YOU IN THE POOL!!!! )
We are on the way Zante!!!!!
could any one tell me if Zante airport has been updated

Gemma

My boyfriend and I are booked up for July 2005. Its our first time to Greece. Whats the apartments like? Where's the best bars and restaurants to go to for a couple in their early 20's?
Gemma xx

Lyndon R

NICE LOCATION,BUT SPOILED BY THE NOISY BAR. ALSO,THE ACCOMADATION IS CRAMPED AND THE FRIDGES ARE PATHETIC.I'M SURPRISED THE REVIEWS ARE SO GOOD BECAUSE I SPOKE TO A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAD COMPLAINTS.

Sharon H

One of the best apartments I have styed at - spacious, clean & tidy.

Kathryn P

For Wendy,
We were there in August of this year -great place to stay, but if I were you I'd book two studio rooms as you will find it hard to fit two children the ages yours are and yourselves into one studio. I'm sure you will have a good time -but there's not a lot of space for four in one studio!
Take care,
Kathryn

Leanne M

Dear Wendy,

My Husband and I stayed at Alikanas Beach in August, we had a studio. The studios are open plan and have twin beds and a sofa bed. You can see a layout of the rooms on the website at www.alykanas-beach.com. We had a fantastic holiday here. Hope you have a great time when you go.

Andrea G

Went there on 20 June 04. It was the best holiday we've ever had due mainly to the excellent accommodation, the friendly bar staff who were great with the children and the location. We met lots of lovely people but would like for Mark, Ann Sophie and Chloe to call us as we seem to have the wrong email for you. We are going back next year on 3rd July for one week.

Wendy T

WE HAVE JUST BOOKED TO GO TO THESE APARTMENTS NEXT JULY. ONLY THING IS THE TWO BEDROOMED APARTMENTS WERE ALREADY BOOKED UP SO WE HAVE A STUDIO - COULD ANYBODY TELL ME THE LAYOUT FOR THE STUDIOS PLSE. OUR TWO CHILDREN ARE 9 AND 8 - IS THERE A SEPERATE BEDROOM OR ARE ALL THE BEDS IN THE ONE ROOM?

John B

Just returned from the Alykanas Beach and although the weather was rotten the apartments are great, kept spotless and are in a fantastic location right on the beach. The food in the bar area is very acceptable and the nightly entertainment kept everyone amused.
I'd definitely go back there but earlier next time.

Helen A

Hiya, Just got back from a great week, staff were wonderful, especially the bar staff and reception! Lots of bars in town, open til late into the night.. food was great too, spec the indian/chinese in Alikanas, which we found much better than the one in Alykes.. obviously too late for people this year, but would recommend the boat trip round the island "Robinson Crusoe" was great. Everyone really friendly and we had a great time, which wasn't bad for a 40 something mother and her 20 something son... But gotta say, Angelos you can not sing! quit the Karaoke (just kidding). Thanks for a great hols.

Karen B

HI ALL IN ZANTE...... WELL WHAT MORE CAN I SAY WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM THE ALIKANAS BEACH STUDIOS ,IT WAS BRILL. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR .IF ANY ONE CAN FIND FAULT WITH THE PLACE THEN THEY SHOULD GO TO SKEGG NEXT YEAR , HI HILLARY DID NOT GET CHANCE TO SAY GOODBYE I WAS THE ONE IN THE BAR TAKING THE PEE OUT OFF SAM AND DAVE HA HA HA AND SNOGGING MY PARTENERS LIPS OFF ,THANKS FOR A GREAT HOLIDAY HOPE YOU ARE THERE WHEN WE COME BACK NEXT YEAR .IF NOT ENJOY WHERE EVER YOU ARE .3 CHEERS FOR THE ALIKANAS BEACH !!!!!!!

Sarah C

Hi everyone, We have just returned a week ago and had a brilliant time there.
The appartments are the cleanest i think ive ever been to and the staff were all exceptionally friendly,my 5 year daughter rebecca absolutly loved it and didn't want to come home. The beach and the sea were very clean not like the brittish beaches and the sea is also very shallow.
The best restaurant we went to was La caretta.
The horse drawn carriages were good fun to get back to the hotel sometimes racing each other.
We went on the robinson crusoe trip which was very good and takes you right round the island, didn't see any turtles but saw some dolphins, the boat stop 3 times for you to get out and have a swim.the second stop is at the shipwreck.
We also did the trip to kefalonia which was good, it was a very long day but well worth doing and it was where they filmed captain corelli's mandolin.
The 3rd trip was to the waterpark but we found there wasn't enough for our 5 year old to do there, a bit disappointing.
All in all a very good holiday. The only bad point is the airport be prepared to wait approx.1 1/2 hrs to get your suitcases when you arrive it is also very packed as not very big and only one conveyer belt.

Sue C

we are going there on 2nd oct whats the weather like then is it still sunbathing weather?

Julie T

JUST RETURNED FROM ZANTE A WEEK AGO AND HAD BRILL TIME. THE ALIKANAS BEACH STUDIO ROOMS WERE REALLY NICE AND KEPT VERY CLEAN BY THE FRIENDLY CLEANING STAFF. LOVELY POOL WITH PLENTY OF SUNBEDS, GREAT HOTEL FOR FAMILIES, LOTS OF KIDS THERE, NOT SO GOOD IF YOU ARE AFTER A QUIET HOLIDAY. POOL SIDE SNACK BAR FOOD WAS VERY NICE. ONLY DOWN SIDE WAS NOISE IN THE EVENINGS FROM THE BAR GOING ON UNTIL APPROX. 1AM EACH NIGHT, ROOMS NOT VERY WELL SOUND PROOFED (HOWEVER OUR ROOM WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE BAR). FAVOURITE TWO RESTAURANTS IN ALIKANAS WERE THE DIONISOS AND THE MANTALENA, BOTH HAD FANTASTIC FOOD AND VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. ONLY VENTURED INTO ALYKES ON SECOND WEEK, HAD MORE RESTAURANTS AND BARS THERE, CAN WALK THERE VIA BEACH OR ROAD, BOTH ROUTES NOT TOO FAR. OVERALL GREAT HOLIDAY.

Phil A

If you are travelling with a small child, be warned that there are no high chairs either for the rooms or in the snack bar. We asked both at reception, in the bar, and the Kosmar rep, but didn't get any help finding one. Most restaurants will provide them when you're out for meals. Also, you might like to ask for a ground floor room as you might end up lugging pushchairs and babies up and down 4 flights of stairs.

Agree with previous comments that it can be noisy at night, especially when someone was singing 'Angels' at the karaoke night!

Vicki G

Thank you Lorraine, I appreciate it.
We are going on Sunday for a week so I will miss you by one week, I can't
wait either. Have a great time.

Lorraine

Hi Vicki, the sun loungers/parasols around the pool are free, there is a charge though for the ones belonging to the hotel that are on the beach, or at least there was when I was last there in May 04. Generally speaking all sunloungers/parasols are charged for by whoever? owns them on the beach - usually around 5 euros per day. We always found plenty of available loungers around the pool at different times of the day so dont worry, we are going again in 2 weeks - can't wait!

Ju W

What a great place,We had two weeks stay in July 04.And we have booked to go again in July 05,cant wait.......

Vicki G

Are the loungers and parasols outside the Hotel free or is there a charge?
If so does anyone know how much?
Many thanks

Mandi X

Did a trip to the blue caves and the shipwreck with blue dolphin (i think thats what they were called) it was a bit more expensive as it was by speedboat but wanted to avoid the huge boats , you can book it it alykanas town in the evenings or next to alykanas beach near the neraida restaurant , also went on the trainaki which was nice and turtle trek booked with dionisos tours both booked in alykanas town , would also recommend horse riding (ask yiannis who does the horse and carriage taxi , his name is on back ) he picks you up from hotel and takes you riding for an hour and then drives you back , me and my son really enjoyed it , have a great time

Kate

how come every1 seems to have got a kiss from peter, all i got was a kiss on the cheek, but i must say he is really fit and gorgeous!!i cant wait to come bak in 2006 its gona be gr8.

Sarah C

Thanks mandi for the info. did you enjoy your holiday there.
did you do any trips?
thanks sarah

Mandi X

SArah , the air conditioning is 36.50 euros per week or 5.50 euros per day and the safety deposit is 14 euros for one week or 24 euros for 2 weeks

Hannah S

hey all! we got back from the beach studios a week ago, and it was amazing... the weather was great, got a brill tan. the rooms were lovely got cleaned alot and we had a great maid!
all the nights they put on were cool. the greek night was nice and the dancers were hot. :| the kareoke was good too.
the staff were very nice, peter is georgeous and a good kisser ;-).
angelo was very funny, and nick was too, fabion was cool and terri was a bit weird and p**vy, but he seemed good with the kids.
all the restaurants were great and had nice staff too.
we met loadsa friends and had a brill time. cant wait to go bk next year!!!

Olivia W

It was a great holiday for young children to adults!
I really enjoyed the underground lake on the kefalonia trip (a must do!)i could'nt do the dragonite caves because i had hurt my toe on a boat trip.
if you want lots of pool tokens talk to angelo and make him laugh while he gets the tokens (we asked for 4 tokens and got 6!)

Mark M

hi sarah, my wife and i are going on sunday for two weeks also, see-ya at the bar tee hee!!!!

Emma&mark

We returned yesterday from a week at the hotel. We really enjoyed ourselves and would go back again. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the rooms are fairly basic but kept very clean, the maids come round everyday to change sheets and towels. There are plenty of sunbeds round the pool although if you want to get a good spot you will have to get up fairly early to get it as people do put their towels down. The pool itself is great and cleaned daily (very cold, yet refreshingly so!). The snack bar sells a wide variety of food and is not too over priced. We tried most of the tavernas nearby and we didnt really have a particular fav they all do the same sort of food really. We would recommend going on the ship wreck visit and the trip to kefalonia(go to see the underground lake) we had Steve as our guide on both trips, hes a good bloke and keeps everyone entertained...."how cool is that, marvellous!!" Hello to anyone who was there last week, we were the people with the pompey towel, hope you all had a good holiday.

Sarah C

We are due to visit on sunday for 2 weeks can anyone tell me how much the airconditioning costs and the safety deposit boxes cost

Tori P

Hi everyone! this hotel is cushty! Hi charlotte and Daniel! I know you read these so thought i would say hi to you! The sea is cool and if you put that pic of me in the sea daniel i will kill you! Nikos! How are ya! One of the waiters is so fit he he! See you again next year! Love you all Tori! x x x x

Charlotte B

Got back from Zante about 2 weeks ago and it was the best and weve already booked up for next year but it was hard because there weren't many rooms available. It will be our 4th time in that hotel for the last four years!!!! if anyone is going the same time as us next year we hope to see you then. the rep was really nice and so are all of the staff especially Nikos,Teri and the two beast barmen EVA!!!!!(Peter and Angelo) If anyone is going soon please can you say hi to the all if there not boozin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see all the crew in alikanas beach next year! oh i forgot watch out for Nikos and Teri they throw you in the pool! have a good holiday whoever is going before me cause it's impossible not to have a goo holiday when your there

Rachel M

Sorry forgot to add from my last post, the apartment was lovely and clean, balcony included. You do have to pay for air conditioning which I reccommend you do as its a godsend!!! No kettle in our room, but just filled up bottled water and put in in a pan for cuppas. Bathroom lovely and clean too - there was a shower curtain and the shower was lovely and powerful. Entertainment on a night was okay - brilliant if you had kids. Lots of sun loungers with umbrellas and lots on the beach too!!! The sea was right on the door step and that was grand too!!!!

Rachel M

We have just returned from the Alykanas Beach apartments, and really enjoyed it. It is ideal for couples and families wanting a relaxing holiday with plenty to do. The apartments themselves were very clean, towels were changed every other day. Apartment cleaned every day. The swimming pool was more of a place for those with young kids and families. For peace and quiet I suggest the beach with is literally on the dorr step for the Alykanas Beach. It is ver close by to the Alykanas Beach village - a different complex, but I beieve they were built around the same time. There is a snack bar on site which is very good in terms of cost and quality. They serve all day breakfasts which is great if you cant be bothered buying stuff from the local shops. The apartments are a 5 minute walk away from the main street where you will find plenty of briliant restaurants. All in all the Alykanas Beach Apartments are highly reccommended, I would definately go back.. My only criticism, and this is if I am being really picky, is two nights of awful Karoake is a bit much!!!!!

Laila P

just got back, just like 2 say yeah peter is a hottie n he gud kisser aswell... hehe. be going back next year.

Vicky W

I cant wait to go back there. Yup peter is a hottie, he is so strong i did arm wrestling againt pete and there was like 3 of us on 1 hand and he stil won.

Peter C

Stayed here 1st to 15th of August. Was not our original first choice but I am very glad we ended up staying here. Everything about the place is first class. Spotlessly clean, brilliant staff (and a shower with a shower curtain and plugs in the sink!)

Rachel L

Stayed here just over a week ago - a fantastic place, within walking distance of the nearest tavernas and shops. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms cleaned every day, pool and jacuzzi wonderful, apartments virtually on beach! The only downfall was on our last night there was a beach party - great fun but with thumping bass until 7am in the morning!! (Our pick up to the airport arrived an hour later!) This most certainly did not spoil the holiday in any way though and I would love to return one day.

Belinda

I would book ASAP if I were you, we tried to book up for July 05 but it's fully booked already!! Good luck hope you get in you'll have a super holiday if you do.

Beccy C

Michelle

We've just returned on sunday and we had a great time. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was really nice. We stayed in a 2 Bedroomed apartment and they were really nice and spacious. The location is great, right next to the beach and just a few minutes walk from the next resort, Alykes. There are lots of bars and restaurants to go to and there are lots of trips to choose from. The pool is really good and the beach is nice with jet ski's, pedalos and paragliding. The food at the pool bar is very good and there are always sunbeds available. We had a great time!!! Highly recommended. WARNING: Anyone that's tempted to get a Henna Tattoo, BE CAREFUL. If you have sensitive skin, do NOT get one as I have sensitive skin and my Henna Tattoo is swollen, itchy and gooey. I have been put on a course of antibiotics and after 3 days is yet to improve. Other than that...great holiday.

just returned last night from alykanas beach. had a great time and really did not want to leave. the location is perfect and accommodation very comfortable and clean. the staff were the best of anywhere i have been but the greek people are exceptionally nice anyway. look out for fabio, he is brilliant and great with kids. i do have to say a special hello to the bar staff peter and angelo. my holiday was so much better thanks to them. angelo you are a legend and i wish you a very safe and happy trip around europe in oct. don't forget to visit scotland, i know you want to see loch ness!yiamas x

Hi Linda, apartments are perfectly situated next to beach with 200 yd walk into Alikanas or slightly longer via beach to Alikes. You could not get a better location - stayed there in May returning Sept.
Lady who was querying about apartments in basements there are no rooms in the basement - all rooms situated over 3 floors with either sea views, side views of mountains or internal views of complex which are still very nice.

I would like to know how far these apartments are from civilisation. Are they far out? Where is the town from here and how long does it take to get there?

Hi E&M,

We go from Bristol at 05:00. If we are on time then you should be landing just as we pick up our luggage. I guess we will be hitting the beach about the same time though. We'll be the group with the grumpy old man (grandad, not me :) )

Good Luck

Simon

I am going to be staying in the Alikanas beach aparts with my boyfriend and 6yr old son on the 22nd Aug.It is the first time that we have been to greece and are really looking forward to it after reading everybodies comments on this website. We were just wondering if the Alikanas beach aparts has basement rooms and if so what are they like,we would really love to have a room with a balcony but knowing what our luck is like we will end up in the basement if there is one.Loved reading about everybodies lovely experiences at Alikanas beach. :)

Nicky

We have just returned from the beach studios, and i must say it was brilliant. we will not be going back to spain after being there. The hotel was very, very clean and the maids were in everyday to clean and change the towels. The pool was also very clean, and the beach was only a few steps away from the hotel. The weather was also great and i recommend using plenty of sun tan lotion. There i must admit wasnt much for the kids to do at night, but it was just a very relaxing place. The food in the hotel was good and reasonably priced.
All of the staff seemed to work very hard. And everyone spoke very good english..

i went to alikanas beach a few weeks ago and i was just wondering who Nikos is?is that peters greek name or something?

Rob W

Hi.
I got back from Zante last monday. We stayed at the Alykanas Beach and loved it! We had a great two weeks and will definitely be returning. On the way back we were delayed over night and Kosmar put us up in a posh hotel in Zante town and took us all out fot a meal in Argassi. All that, plus we managed to have an extra night in Zante! Top marks to Kosmar! Still, people complained about this saying they were going to claim loads of money off Kosmar. Gits!!

Anyone going to the Alykanas Beach, dont forget to get Nikos to give you a tshirt!!

Msg for Charlotte Bird. Hi there Charlotte pleased to hear that you are having a lovely holiday again at Alikanas Beach (I hope that your second week goes really slowly). I read lots of your previous comments on this website before I booked I was there in May this year. I was wondering if you could do me a favour - give Nikos a BIG kiss on the cheek and tell him it's from Lorraine. Many Thanks. xxxx

Mandi H

Lorraine E

Hi Mandi, yes there are no problems with cashpoints, there is one in Alikanas near Supermarket next to Iguana Bar and two in Alikes on the main street (one is next to the newsagent and the other outside Montes Supermarket. Alikanas Beach is a fab place have a great holiday. Regards Lorraine Eadson

Mandi H

Does anyone know if there are any cash points nearby , i am staying at the alykanas beach studios in august ?

Charlotte B

I am here in zante with my best friend Bex! We both think that it is great. Ignore what people are saying about the noise from the bar because you can't even hear it. If anyone is coming on the first of august we hope to see you then. It is windy but we think its going to drop soon. We have made a lot of new friends but some of them are leaving on the first and we will be sad to see them go.

Kate
