quaint and small beach can become over crowed as is very popular with known sulphur springs hot and cold parts of the water. Would recommend just a half days visit if you can put up with the smell of sulphur.

The information above is old. I visit this small beach in october 2014. And the road to ride down is closed now, and there is a little tavern with A parking lot near the normal road. You need to pass by the tavern now, and at the of the parking lot, you have a stairs down to the little beach. Whe you are down, not the whole beach is a free aria anymore, because Someone from the tavern rent there sunbeds and umbrellas. You can order there also drinks and snacks. So now only the very rocky part thats become early in the shade is now a free part to sit down for free. We also expect that the Spa give hot water, But this one give only gold water, and it's smell like rotten egs :-) The beach is not Sandy, But small rocks. The same for the waterline. There Are big rocks in the water, so take care by diving and swimming But overall a Nice place for a short visit during your holiday.

My husband & I have been coming to Zante now for 6yrs twice a year. We have seen this beach from the main road (well the top road, whatever!!! )Always looked lovely but never went there. We have recently moved to this lovely Island and so 2day we thought we would explore!!!! Absolutely fantastic is all i can say!! I have read comments where they say.. no sunbeds, no food or drinks, ... well this year 2013 they have it all!!! AMAZING !!

Visited Zakynthos July 2010 and fell head over heals. Xigia beach is a beautiful spot and well worth a visit. There are two beaches south and north Xigia. The north is more popular as access is easier, but the south although a bit further to walk, unless you have a 4x4 is also beautiful. Just up from the turn off to South Xigia is a fantastic taverna The Pelagaki. You will be greeted with the warmest of Greek hospitality and the food, well what can I say. All food is produced on their farm which is just up the road. They are so passionate about their menu and take the greatest pride in producing fantastic food, home made wine. I spent many an evening with my family eating beautiful food, looking at a beautiful view. We loved this place so much that we will be returning next year. If you pass this restaurant which is on the main road pull in and you will soon see what I mean. Enjoy!!!!
