I understand this restaurant is now closed.

Ate there 6 nights out of 7.   Why?   Because it was ideal for the children, bouncy castle saved many a hastle, food was good, service was great.   At the end of the day we were having meals for 7 of us, with drinks and all for under £35 a night.

 the greedy greek restarant

ave just come back from zante, if you want a traditional greek resturant with out the hassle of broken english when trying to order your meal this is the place to be, all staff speak fluent english!

we also booked our trips thru dionosis english tours which is owened by the propriotor of the greedy greek and we had a tour guide melanie who was english to talk us thru it. we went to all the best places on the island including the shipwreck and the blue caves do not miss these trips the scenery is breathtaking overall an amazing place to eat also you get a free horse and carridge to the restarant and back to your hotel. have fun and remember choose the greedy greek for trips as well as food!!!!

Only ate here because our horse and carriage ride from Alykes was free on that condition.  A little reticent when we entered as there were not many people there (but then most of the restaurants were under half full).  The food however was GORGEOUS.  It is unlike other Greek restaurants as everything here is home made (when did you last get home made taramasalata??).  The owner is a lovely friendly guy who makes everyone feel welcome.  If you want excursions - book through his company Dionossos tours in Alykanas and Alykes.  Their prices are the same as everyone else, but you get lovely comfortable trips, well-timed and basically the best experience you could wish for.

30 minute wait for food despite the restaurant being perhaps a fifth full ?

Food was very average.  Basically if you like English food in what is just the same as an English restaurant then go in there.

If you fancy something a little more Greek then forget it !!

Good food + a bouncy castle for the kids but they nail you on the drinks.

We visited this restaurant twice and had good meals both times.

The flaimg lamb casserole (lamb klefticados??)  was absolutely delicious.

Worth a try!

Jon M  (18 September 2006)

We had two meals at the Greedy Greek whilst on Holiday this year and enjoyed both, the very simple starter of Olive Pate and Pitta bread was wonderful! On a Wednesday there was a free Greek night and on our second visit there was a Wedding of a couple from Birmingham - a very enjoyable evening. We are planning the visit the UK branch in Sheffield now!

Greedy greeks was ok, except all waiters are purves. yamas.

Ian C  (17 August 2006)

This place is Ok but far more tourist centred than other erstaurants. The food is good, I grant you, but there are better places to go where the portions are not so over-facing and the rpices are lower

Not bad, but not the best

Scott T  (13 August 2006)

The Greedy Greek was excellent value for money. The food, especially the Lasagne, was very good. The dancers on a Wednesday and Saturday nights were very entertaining and got all the kids, young and old, involved in the dancing. if you get the chance take advantage of the free horse and cart ride to the restuarant.

We visited a couple o times as we thought it was one of the best restuarants in Alykanas !

Kieron G  (11 August 2006)

Went here with my wife and two children on two nights.  We all loved it!  Prices may be a little higher than other (but not much) but the meals we had were both excellent and a good size.  Both time I went I had the Pork chop Andreaous which was a very large pork chop cooked in a brandy and pepper sauce with potatoes, rice & veg.

Deborah F  (19 July 2006)

This is by far the best restaurant in Alikanas forget any other reviews you have read. Not only do the staff look after you but their prices are some of the most reasonable in the resort.  We did try some of the other restaurants in the resort but found the service slow, staff unfriendly and food very poor. Can't beat the free greek night twice a week!!! That certainly burned off a few calories.

Lauren T  (26 June 2006)

Decidedly average - much better places around.

Susan   (19 June 2006)

Not good if you fancy a romantic or relaxing meal. I think it would be quite good for kids as they ask you up to dance and you can't really say no lol! The food was ok but not the best we had in Alykanas.

Yvonne T  (10 April 2006)

Over-rated...................The Restaurant name captures the holiday spirit (and entices you in) however, service was slow and we found the food to be average.  There are better restaurants to choose from.

Siobhan C  (20 October 2005)

heard great things about the GREEDY GREEK but was very dissapointed had seafood platter squid was like a rubber band 1 small prawn and dry sword fish! service slow didnt bother going back, found the lemon tree a couple of nights later and absolutly loved it!! stayed in alykanas village sept 05 BRILL!!! X

Julian P  (11 October 2005)

Service verrrry slow. Food no better than anywhere else, comedy waiter disappeared when we started to complain about the hour wait for our food. A bit of a let down.

Jane E  (28 September 2005)

Good atmospeher in the Greedy Greek but thats all I can say. We ordered special only had one portion left no a problem until it arrives all dry. Charged wrong prices. Lives up to the name Greedy Greek. (sorry)

Liz T  (15 September 2005)

Didn't actually go here as we were put off by the noisy Iguana Bar blasting out English music right opposite.

Michael T  (09 September 2005)
