Castello - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

I think Rosie Brown must have been on a different Island. We returned from Kalamaki a week ago and from the 14 nights we were there we went to Castello 11 of them. The service was very friendly and professional, the food was excellent (no problem if you wanted it a bit different from the menu) and the prices were spot on. The roast potatoes are to die for. We usually sat down stairs and listened to the music next door. It was a bit loud sometimes but you can always go upstairs if you prefer it a bit quiet. I can not recommend Castello highly enough, Makis and his team are great. And remember if you fancy something and it is not on the menu, just ask Makis. Give him a bit of notice and he will do his best. On our last night I had a superb Lobster and Janice had a wonderful grilled fresh fish. Thanks to everyone for making our holiday even better.
Can someone also explain why Costello is only 4/10. Most of the comments are possitive and there are other establishments not far away with 10/10 that I would never wish to set foot in again.

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

What's this all about. We went to Mermaids on our first night in Kalamaki and had the roast lamb. It was straight out of the micro wave and did not resemble anything like traditional greek food that it was supposed to be. The service was quick but that seemed to be so they could get us out and in to the cocktail bar next door. If you want good traditional food, friendly service and a relaxed meal then give mermaids a miss.
