Athina Apartments - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Have just arrived back to sunny Birmingham(not)after two fantastic weeks in the Athina apartments, the apartments are completely well kept but highly recommend that you take mosquito plug ins, also the rooms have no air conditioning so we hired a fan and a safe and it came to sixty euros but we only got ten back. As for Kalamaki its fantastic for couples, families, young people etc In fact everyone. Also only six euros to Laganas which is just up the road in a taxi.
Reccommend you hire a car, we hire a jeep for 4 days come to 170 euros and we got to see everything, but would not do it with tour operator as there are so many places you can rent them and they are so much cheaper and completely above board, we hired our suzuki jeep at auto rentals opposite the road to cave bar. Cant wait to go back 10/10.

Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Me and my partner have just returned from the best two week holiday I have ever had, we have both badly got the holiday blues and cannot wait to return back to Kalamaki again one day. We thought the Cave bar was fantastic you have to visit there if you go to Kalamaki great music, cocktails, staff and of course the view is amazing. Really recommend on hiring a car etc, we had one four days and got to see everything. We especially loved banana beach it was gorgeous. We stayed in the Athina apartments and they were fantastice really clean and had a pretty garden when lit up at night. Laganas was great too there is something for everyone there if you look properly. Our best day there was defently looking over the balcony onto the shipwreck it was breathtaking and so was driving round the cliff tops to get there, it was great fun. Wish we were back there and I envy anyone who is due to go, have a great time...

Highly recommend you try the stuffed beef, stuffed with spinach and feta cheese and served with fresh vegatables. It was fantastic. Really liked the way the food was served in the pan it was cooked in, you just knew how fresh everything was. Brilliant!!!

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Jemma P

We went on the alexandros boat, and it was a great day out. We were really looking forward to being stranded on smugglers cove for 1 hour but unfortunately we only got to take pictures of the cove as they put an announcemount out saying that it was to rough to stop there, though it honestly did not seem rough to us and yet they were able to stop on other beaches which were just as small. Other than that it was a great day out and swimming in the caves was brilliant but be careful getting back on the boat cause everyone is rushing to get on and you have to tread water untill you can get back on. Once we had got bcak on the boat there was a girl on the floor with first aiders round her, it looked like she had sunk to the bottom and hit her head. Anyway it seemed she was ok though. Fantastic way to get a tan and I would do it again, but I think looking over the cliff tops at it was alot better, really breathtaking. It was certainly our favourite day. Can't wait to go back.

Greek Night - (Zante Excursions)

Jemma P

Me and my partner just returned from zante last week, the greek night was highly recommended to us from family and friends which we thought it looked really nice on holiday snaps of the sunset, the cross on the cliff and everything. When we went to book to go there independently we were told twice that the taverna there was no longer open but there was a similar place which was just as nice. When we arrived we realised we were not far away from the Cameo island club near Laganas we were seated on a seperate veranda overlooking the beach and was across the road from the taverna it was nice with loads of free wine etc. but the view is not as nice as the other one looked. Also the dancing was in the street and you kept having to stop to let cars and coaches drive past. But it was good fun, worth the money I suppose.

Castello - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Jemma P  (17 August 2004)

We came here a few times on our holiday in which we have just returned from, and each time we really enjoyed our meals. Everything was so fresh the pasta is really nice, and my partners meat was nicely cooked. I highly recommend the cheese pies they are fantastic!!!

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

We ate here on our first night and we were pretty tired after a long day so we were starving,I had a lasagne and my boyfriend had a pizza although the pizza was quite tasty the lasagne lacked any taste at all it was just a bowl of slop with a whole block of cheese melted on top. Nether the less we ate there again and I had a chicken sunday roast and my partner had bangers and mash which we both enjoyed. The restaurant also claims to do the best breakfasts though we didn't think they were that big, but other than that it was quite nice. I would recommend it if your a veggie cause there is quite a larger range of meals, but the food isn't fantastice but what do you expect from a restaurant that sells practicly anything, its not all going to be that fresh.
