Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

This is the diamond in the ruff.
We spent the first five days of our holiday eating very average food at some of the other restaurants.
We were told about Mikaelos by a few locals and we were not disappointed. This was the first menu we had that didn't offer chips with everything! The setting was good as it was not on the main strip and was peaceful. The restaurant was full every night we went and even had people waiting in the bar for a table.
Please try it as you will be hard pushed to find anything better!

Buon Amici - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Firstly we were PESTERED to come eat here every night we walked past, so one night we gave in.
We had a particularly bad meal.
1. The tabel wine was awful... it was infact undrinkable.
2. We thought we would try a cocktail.... They didn't have some of the fruit juices for the ones we chose so we selected two others that they had the juices for.
BIG MISTAKE. They were awful.... I don't think they know how to make a cocktail.
3. We ordered sparkling mineral water but it had already been opened and was semi flat.
4. My partner ordered grilled kalamari but was served battered/deep fried kalamari but when he pointed it out they said that is what the 'grilled' kalamari is..... It also tasted very oily and very much like it had been cooked long before and had been heated up.
5.I must admnit my main course was lovely but not overwhelming.

It was the worst meal and service we had during our stay

Really enjoyed our meal here. Pasta was good and staff were friendly.

Bitzaro Grande Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

My partner and I took our first holiday together to Kalamaki and booked into the Bitzaro Grande. We chose to board as B&B and it suited us well.
The breakfasts were good and had lots to offer.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly which added to the enjoyment of our stay. Nothing was to much trouble.
September/October seems to be a good time to visit the hotel if you are a couple.
Having passed many other apartments/hotels during our stay, I truely beleive that it is the best place to stay in Kalamaki
