Dannys is THE best place for young couples and families of all ages,ignore the rubbish some people write about it it makes me . We will be going back this year and next and next its is that good.

Great place been here often will be back september 2006 look forward to seeing you all .

  We were here last year and have just booked to go back this september, we had a fab time last year, the apartments are very basic but we found them to be clean.We booked a package holiday and for what we paid we were pleasantly surprised considering what we had read.We cant wait to go back as it was the best holiday we have had so far as everyone was so very friendly. On a down side I would insist on having a top flat !!!!

we had such a brilliant time at dannys it is such a friendly place. i am definately going back this year.

Hi All,  

Ok here goes, I`ll give you the correct version of events re the Kali Pigi, I`ve just come back from there 3 weeks ago.  Danny and his family have bought it and this year they were not featured in any holiday brochures so they have opened it to people who want to go independantly.   I booked using the email address below from Sarah and then got last minute flights - absoulute bargain!!!! It only cost me n my fella £500 for 2 of us for 2 weeks that`s everything in total!!!!!  Anyway, yeah it was quiet in fact at one point there was only us two staying in the hotel but hey what more could you want? Pool n hotel to yourselves, it was like a private villa - he he!!!!  Guests do come round from Danny`s and use the pool and you can use Danny`s poolside snackbar for any refreshments you need.  The last thing I heard before I left is that next year it will be open and with Direct Holidays and they are also keeping some rooms spare for independant bookers.  So all in all we had a fab time there, rooms were very clean, maid came in every day (changed sheets & towels twice a week), fridge & kettle in room too.

I just wanna say a big "thanks" to Sarah for sorting it all out for us, we`ll be back next year.

Just arrived back home after a great holiday at Dannys, the brouchure description was very accurate and we cannot fault the service supplied by the staff. Well done. If we can get over the shock of the crap conditions at the airport on the way home we may well book to stay at Dannys next year.

got back from holiday on the 7th september 05 and it was the best holiday i've ever been on ! danny's bar is the place to hang !!! yannis and stelios ur a gr8 pair of guys and i'm missin you all loads already, i wish i could come bak and see u again !!! hope i've still got my job at ur bar stelios lol , i dont see how anyone can complain about this apartment, the noise or the people, (we got given more toilet roll aswell ) the everlasting supply of peanuts was gr8 but the ouzo was 10x better   i didn't want to come home it was that amazing!!!!!!!! the pool competitions were gr8 i think we won bout 4 times lol,   would definatly come back again ,

Arrived home 2 days ago after staying at Dannys for two weeks. Great time, friendly people, brilliant Greek nights and quizzes, in fact, the only bad thing was having to come home!!!!  Thanks to all at Dannys for making a fantastic holiday perfect! PS. The Welsh rugby shirt on the roof with all the scores from the six nations looks amazing! We will defenatly return next year with the kids

Has a fantastic time here. Despite other people's comments these apartments are far from dirty and you do get a kettle. The maids are in everyday to clean and mop balconies. We were facing the pool on the top floor. Danny's bar was btilliant as Danny was giving the kids free pool tokens which kept them out of the hottest part of the day. The food from the pool bar was reasonabley priced and tasty. Thought the hire of fans or air con was cheeky but still hired one! The local restaurants were good too each one had a play area for the kids. You must go on the train ride Trainaki its 10 euros for adults and 5 for kids and it takes you to a Greek raisin farmer where you can buy his raisins and wine taste, its an interesting trip that doesn't take all day-kids'll love it too.  Greek night is fun at Danny's espescially if you join in!!

We were all sad to leave  Anne did offer to keep 2 of the 4 kids we took but we thought that just wasn't fair on her!

hi could ne1 help me who is the tour op for this hotel, me and my family have been comin 2 this hotel since 1994, and we would love 2 come back for my 21st birthday nxt year,so can ne 1 help.

This has got to be the best holiday I have ever been on. Before going, we looked here for some information and opinions on dannys.... and got a lil worried!! I mean, some people said they were not happy with no shower curtain etc... well greece does not have shower curtains. Its not tht bad!! We stayed in the newer block at the back of dannys, and it was extremely clean, extremely quiet and gr8! the maid comes at about 11/12 in the morning every morning to change beds, give fresh towels, clean floors and clean the lil shutters on the balconies. The balcony has sliding glass doors and sliding shutters. We also rented out two fans from the shop(its weird, it doesnt really have a reception but all queries, spare keys etc are in the shop!!) for the two weeks one fan was 24 euros. the older blocks do have air conditioning and i think the prices are around 5-10 euros a day for that.

Dannys bar was gr8!!! Stellios and Yiannis were fantastic!!! Quiz nights, 60s,70s and 80s nights and pool competitions are all soo much fun!! the pool table is always surrounded by all the kids and so is easy to make good friends!!    Music is turned down at around 12 ish. Youll get to know the songs very well... as they are always the same lol... good ol favourites ay?!

we stayed at dannys in may 2005 and it was my first holiday abroad. even though my group of people caused a bit of trouble and were always loud, the people at danys were amazing and we'll never forget them. yannis is brilliant, he is the most friendliest guy you will ever meet, he really made my holiday. will definately be going again soon and wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else. the rooms were a bit basic but they had everything you would need when on holiday, except for good plumbing!

hello i am sara me and my family have stayed in ioannis and dannys for 1 week and we really enjoyed it.the beach wasnt far away just 5 minutes on foot.the rooms were nice and clean.we were staying in room 301 and we were near to the bar.In the night we were having dinner either at kostas grill house or at mantalena.

we stayed there for 2 weeks and i have to admit that it was amazing.our room was on the 3 floor and we had a pool view.the bar was very busy and the people in were very friendly.also thanks to the rep we had a beautiful trip to the blues caves.I am surely going back

We stayed at Danny's in June 2004. 2 adults+2kids.
We loved the whole holiday and even though we were visited by whinning bugs that dive bombed you at night and were immune to mosquito killers, the apartment was liveable. We used the dodgy cooking ring only for a little boy's night time milk and the shower worked fine if you didn't mind holding it and no curtains but it didn't drain that fast leaving the next visitor to the toilet with wet feet.The camp beds were very noisy and the children refused to sleep on them but I had no trouble at all-worn out from the days activities. We didn't use the bar but only heard it once when England scored at footie. The reps weren't great but so what.
What made Danny's fantastic were the people in the poolside cafe, the other holidayers who were all very friendly and the brilliant pool. Both children were noticably far better swimmers after the holiday and to top it all our daughters warts disappeared after having them for 2 1/2 years after one application of the blessed water from the church on the trainaki trip.Location was walking distance to all-would go again, although probably better prepared, forwarned and all that!

We just got back on Thursday after a fortnights stay and all we can say is we are booking again for next year. Exerlent times especially the greek night such good fun. Appartments were basic but clean enough. Dannys bar is brilliant and the guys are so friendly Stellios, Sakis and Yannis made us feel so welcome top times and met some great people. Roll on next October for our third stay.

We love Dannys,we stayed here in July and had a fantastic time.The accomodation was basic but very clean and had everything we needed (who wants to cook when on holiday ??).
Stelios,Yanni and Stakis along with Yanni's mum,dad and the grandparents are all fantastic,helpful and good fun. The Bar at night made our holiday where we were made very welcome and were treated as friends.
Our party consisted of myself my partner and 6 sixteen year old girls everyone of us is still talking about "Dannys" The girls say they will never forget their holiday and would love to return one day (but not with us,thank goodness!)

We returned home on the 22nd of September after a brilliant stay at the Ionnis and Dannys apartments. Yannis and Stelios were very friendly people and made us feel very welcome in their country.
Although the apartments were very basic they were kept clean and tidy throughout our stay.
We travelled as a family of 7 ranging from 19yrs to 43yrs, there was never a dull moment always finding something to do whether it be enetering the pool competition with Yannis or a chat at the bar with Stelios. We all had a great time and Ionnis and Dannys comes highly reccommended from our family. Thanks to Yannis and Stelios for making our holiday so enjoyable x x

Just got back everything was fantastic anybody who complains should be shot. dennis and dana (the owners) are fantastic and there son is a very funny guy. i had some intresting greek lessons from the boys (yannis and sykis) you could not wish for a nicer place to stay i am going back next year the bar is fantastic. i'd highly recommend danny's to anyone and all of the barmen are good looking the fact that the appartment was basic all added to the expierience of a great holiday. yammas Danny's

Me and my family have been to the this hotel since 1994. we find the hotel and staff fantastic and so friendly. each year we come back some times twice a year it never changes, thats why we love it so much. big thumbs up.

We were allocated on arrival and had a third floor room. It overlooked the pool, was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a very lazy holiday and found the pool and bar were just right. Would definately go again and maybe explore a bit further next time.

This was our first time to Zante, we stayed at Danny's. The rooms were basic (but same all over the island?)however we found them to be clean, we had our towels and sheets changed every other day, there was a shortage of toilet roll but we just bought some from the supermarket and found the lady there very friendly. Our room was opposite the bar but as we were there most nights the noise did not
bother us, with the shutters and doors closed it could barely be heard, as the volume went down at 1am. The guys in the bar were great and treated us like friends, (Stelios, Sakis, and Yannis). you were always given a free shot and an endless supply of peanuts. The pool was clean & the food at the poolside sanck bar was good value.
We really enjoyed our week here and would visit again.

I went with my friend and we had a fab time - everything was very clean and is highly recommended (especially for families/couples). The resort is beautiful. Thank you!

Had great time at Dannys everyone was very friendly couple in the shop spoke or waved as we went by everyday ,rooms were clean bit basic but you only sleep in them as it is self catering didnt use the cooker(2 rings)maids came in every day to empty bins 3days to changed the beds no kettle so take one with you no shower curtain but there is a mop on every floor.Lady in snack bar very friendly.Dannys bar was exellent Sakis and Stelios made wicked cocktails Yiannis did quiz and pool comp and Sia the girl in the bar kept us topped up with free shots and an endless suply of peanuts and cleaned up after i spilt my bottle of Amstell for which i got a replacement free of charge brought to my table my wife also got a free drink of her choice as it was her birthday.Nice resort with lots of places to eat and drink 10 miniute walk to the beach 20 to Alekes just down the road Yiannis was there as we left to help us all on to the bus then went to the airport on his moped and stayed till the plane went.The Greeks are very friendly people and we made lots of friends at Dannys and will return again one day for sure.

This an OK place to stay if you are looking for something Very Very Very Basic. I had the same problem as the last lady as we were in room 105. Noisy and full of Ants. When we told the staff that there were ants in the Kitchen, she (or the holiday Rep) didn't believe that there was any there.
The room is two beds (only) a small kitchen full of cutlery that is covered with ants, and a Bathroom with a hand shower and a toilet.
We spent no time there at all really just to sleep and change. we spent no time at the Pool and the shop is more expensive than the other stores close by. I personally felt uncomfortable ther. Sorry!!

It depends where your room is at Dannys as to how you would rate a holiday here! We have been travelling to the Greek Islands for the past 14 years and have never had a complaint in all that time. This year for the first time we had a complaint - our room (101) on the ground floor was right opposite the bar!!!!!! My husband is disabled and needs to be able to get a good nights sleep, and the holiday company we travelled with, obviously thought it would be a good laugh to give us the noisest room on the complex. The room was very sub-standard for Greece. The sink unit in the kitchen smelt rank, it was so damp it was running alive with ants. There was no cupboards to put the crockery and cutlery in, so they were on the draining board 24/7 with the ants running alive all over the utensils. The fridge had had its day and was as hot as the weather outside and constantly leaked water. Now on to the bathroom - the shower head was broken. The flexible silver tube had come away from the shower head so you were left with the rubber tube, hence the water went everywhere from the tube. The toilet just stunk to high heaven and we constantly kept the lid down and the door closed. The cleaners seemed to clean the floor every day, but their cleanliness in the bathroom was very much to be desired. You could not see in the mirror at all (where the water squirted out of the shower tube) and was not cleaned once nor was the sink or toilet - it truly was disgusting. For the first time in 14 years of staying in a studio room, there was no third bed in there on our arrival, shocked faces from the staff and then arrived the most clapped out put-you-up bed with two, bed bugged thin mattresses placed on top and my son was supposed to sleep on that - it was horrendous and I would not even let a dog sleep on it. And then the balcony, surrounded by Flora and Fauna, very nice, but the plants were planted in sand of which the cats on the complex used as their toilet - so it stunk on the balcony and then of course the wonderful bar - great bar if you are not living opposite it! We are not a football family and returning home after a nice day out and having to listen to what ever was on at full blast was not our idea of a peaceful, relaxing holiday. No I am sorry for us, Danny's was so very substandard, that the apartment block we were staying in needs pulling down. As a result of the room, we did not spend anytime at the pool (one there was no room for a start) and not our idea of bombing in the pool and dumping people off their sunbeds in to the pool either. This is our second time in Alikanas, the resort is fantastic, just that Dannys for us was not - sorry guys!!!!!!

we stayed at the dannys 2nd & 3rd week of june 04. We had a brilliant time. Dennis the bar man is fab, the kids really liked stellios and as for yanni he is so funny (couldn't get us a kettle though).The room was very clean not really suitable 4 a family self catering.The 2 ladies at the snack bar were friendly and done the best breakfast in the area. Spent most days lazing at the pool side. Turtle boat trip was fab reccomend booking with english lady next to the Hungry Greek restaurant.Avoid Toms cafe one member of family had food poisioning after a visit there. Take a horse and cart ride with Yanni great fun. Would reccomend the Dannys for a great holiday. Dennis remember the best place to be on New Years Eve is Bideford in devon. Thanks to you all.

Reading the last few comments we were at Danny's around the same time and probably spoke in the bar! pity you can't add pics here so that you can see who is commenting. Glad to see more good stuff being said. We love this place (third time now) we were welcomed like old friends by the owners, and they always passed the time of day with us when we saw them. As usual very well maintained at all times, hope to return next year.

We stayed at Danny's,and enjoyed everything about it, dont know what the comment about the ladies at the pool bar is all about,we found them lovely, working very hard for everyone and with long hours and in extreme heat of the summer,i think they are wonderful.Ofcourse there is a tips jar on the bar ,there is in every bar on the island,i seriously doubt if anyone actually asked for any gratuity.

Just came back from our holiday in Zante we stayed at the Dannys apartments in Alykanas. Had a fab time the weather was beautifull, the apartments were basic but nice. The family who run it are fantastic and friendly. The only thing that wasn't good on our holiday were the two ladies at the snack bar at Dannys. They never smiled and were extreamly rude and even had the cheak to ask us for a tip!!! The food was nice but not that nice to tip! The Manos rep Ian was brillent he looked after us and was very friendly!

Would come back to the Dannys again, hopefully by then they would have changed the staff at the snack bar or sent them on a customer service training course!

Although some of the previous comments are relevant,I feel these apartments deserve a better review.The family are friendly,the pool area well planted with flowering shrubs,exellent children's play area, good snack bar,cleaned every day,clean linen every 3 days,never ran out of toilet rolls!We didn't expect to eat in so basic cooking facilities more than adequate.Overall a very enjoyable holiday AND we would stay there again.

We are about to return (July 15) wish everyone would stop whinging about toilet rolls, these are SELF CATERING apartments, so that's what you do!!! This will be our third year at Danny's and really looking forward to it. We even got a Christmas card off them last year.

No problems with the cleanliness - maids came every day. We took note of the toilet roll comments on here, and packed some of our own - 4 loo rolls out, one litre of gin in on the way home!

Basic but clean apartments, take some toilet rolls only one provided. No KETTLE provided so take your own. Supermarket on site open till midnight has everything, but check your CHANGE. Pool small but clean. Snack bar run by Judith and Anna is excellent. On site bar a bit basic but staff friendly. Apartments opposite bar get some music noise from the bar. Excellent restaurants try Medusa, Dionosis, Greedy Greek and Katrinas Kitchen all good value for money. Not a big resort but everything you need. Take a horse and carriage to Alekes especially with Yannis. Hire a car and book trips - see Ann Marie at Dionisos Travel. A trip to Olympia well worth the long day.

we have just returned from dannys on the 20th june. location to the main bars and tavernas is 20 metres.
rooms are smaller than we normally stay in esp for 3, but like most of you you dont spend your holiday in the rooms. ok for getting changed and sleeping. shower curtain wouldnt go a miss and an extra pillow!!!!!.
you will need to buy toilet roll as we did. maid service is 2 a week but i think that depends on when you arrived. we got clean towels and sheets only once in a week.
pool area is very clean and well maintained a pool bar is good - food is great - two english ladies. family are very friendly also who own it.
The shop is open from 8am till midnight, it says no commission on exchanging money but they charge about 3 euros for every 100 your change.
all the bars and tavernas are great value for money and food is good, never came across anything that wasnt nice.
there are horses and carts that will take you into alikes for 10 euros. we walked back caus it was quite late and only took us 10 mins.
Beaches are great.
if you are thinking of hiring a car, then beware the road sign from alakanas to the south of the island are rubbish but ok from south to north.

Having read previous comments, yes, there are dogs nearby and roosters which (as roosters do) crow at dawn but noise from nearby bars was low when we visited (13 - 20 May) loo roll did run out after day 4 and wasn't replaced but maids visited daily and apartment was kept clean.
Judith and Anna at the pool bar do a top line in snacks and meals and the pool itself is spotless.
Previous negative comments relate purely to the class of tourist and not the resort itself - this premise is excellent value for money and perhaps it is the reasonable prices which attract a less than ideal element in holiday neighbours(!)
Having said that, we experienced a pleasant and relaxing 7 days, good food, good company and no complaints.
(PS - to Judith & Anna - George & George arrived home safely and send their love ... and if there is any way you can get in touch re a possible home for the dog at the castle, please do ... X )

hi me and my girlfriend have stayed in alykanas about 7 times WE LOVE IT . its a very nice place because its not to noisy but you can have a great nite out.the eating places weve tryed have all been great .its a very safe place and the people are very nice .as for the apartments these are very basic but were clean ,but its so cheap to eat out no need to cook .
we love busters bar its a great nite out with lots of thigs going on .
we are also going on the 20 th may but are staying at plesses palace

our family of 6 stayed here 27/8/03 to 27/8/03. we found these apts very basic, not exactly dirty but not spotless either. we had two apts overlooking the pool,and some very pleasant welsh neighbours.As for the owners of this complex we found they were moaning , miserable,cretious ripoff merchants.thanks to the family from hell[yorkshire]and the other one from london,who sat by watching one of the nippers sink his teeth into everyones inflatables and popping them.the lovely jamie and cousins ,you were a pain in the bum! and a big hello to all the other friendly and lovely folks we met . we recommend no-one stays here they don't deserve the custom !

dannys was the best holiday i hav ever had i dunno why people are sayin it was loud because we were right opposite the bar and it was quite quiet the family were great to talk to and the snack bar by thepool was great value for money and the couple that run it were english so that was good the pool was excellent people who were around the pool were very nice and cheerful all in all my family enjoyed it alot and we hope to go bck there n the next few years

By the sounds of the comments we were very lucky at Danny's! Our studio was very clean, and was cleaned every day, it was also very quiet and the other guests seemed nice. The cooking facilities areextreamly basic, it has to be said, but we never planned to cook! The pool is spotless as well. The lady in the shop was always lovely and chatted to us quite alot, we didn't knowly get short changed! we did think, however, that in the height of summer it wouldn't have been so nice, full of screaming kids!!!

but when there are five of you it gets quite expensive

Just got back from Zante!Had an excellent holiday.Accommodation was very basic and we had a few problems during the first few days.These problems were soon sorted however by our rep Cloe.She was excellent, very professional and helpful and a great laugh too!!
The beach was lovely and quiet and the Greeks very welcoming will definitley be going back for more!

We stayed at Iaonnis & Dannys between Sept. 4th & 18th 2003 and it was the worst accomodation we have ever experienced, We have come Home for a rest. There was a large young family staying on the complex occupying 3 of the rooms. The noise and shouting from the adults and young children we had to endure until 4 or 5 a.m. every morning was terrible. There are 15 studio apartments situated along the driveway to the pool and reception area, these are opposite Dannys Bar and the music, football or horse racing blairs out from here all afternnoon until 4 or 5 oclock in the morning. I would think it is better around the pool area.
as previously posted. The appartments are clean, well maintained, very basic and the towels only get changed once a week. the snack bar around the pool is good and you have to supply your own toilet paper. We will not be going back there.

very nice place,basic but clean.take loo roll you can never can get any.the pool was good and very clean.pool snack bar was good, run by a English couple.The rooms are ok if its just two of you and you eat out every night,(not good cooking facilatys)Not big enought if you have kids with you.met a great couple called pete and pauline(hope the toe is better pauline) we had a great time and hope to go back next year,but will stay in another apartment.pete pauline get in touch if you want? Just came back from Danny's. I can only back up the previous statements really, Make sure you check your change IF you have to buy from the on site shop. Apartments are clean but very basic (take a tin opener) . The couple running the pool side bar this year were great but even they would not go back to work there. If you have already booked this place don't worry you will enjoy it but if you are thinking of booking please have a look elsewhere first. Alykes has more to offer than alykanas although we never had a bad meal anywhere. Make sure you get the free horse to the lemon tree restaurant - excellent value for money. The Greek seeem to lack hygene standards in my opinion as there is litter everwhere you look.
One plus point from Danny's - never been anywhere that has empty sunbeds all day.

this must be the worst apartments we have ever stayed ,cleaners come round every 3 days but not worth the wait pulled a draw out and found the last occupants had lef their underware.if you want toilet paper buy your own has you won,t get any of the owners.don,t change any travelers cheques in the shop as she devil charges more commision then the bank of england go to the bottom of thr road to a little kiosk no commision,cats were having litters every where,you will be awaken at 6 in the morning by the cockrils that are on the farm behind the complex also the farmers dogs barking most of the night if you are unlucky to be going there hire a fan
