Calypso Restaurant - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Kevan H          10/10

On the first night of our holiday we were enticed in by the front of house resturant tout, who was friendly and chatty and asked what we wanted to eat, showed us the menu, chatted with my 13 year old son. We were given bread and dips free of charge, the meal was great the service altough a little slow (a greek thing all resturants are slow) was great plenty of chat from the waiter and the front of house guy (sorry can't remember thier names). After asking for the bill we were given a plate of chopped melon (free again). Overall a very hospitable place to eat, good food, and good service.

Apollon - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

This resturant is slightly off the main drag, if your staying at the Mavrikos as we were, its on the right as you come down the hill.

The prices here were slightly less than other resturants, were invited in by the owner/waiter as we perused the menu, and had a nice meal at a reasonable price.
But, if I had to be picky the front of house guy (I assume was to owners son), was wearing jeans and trainers, not turned out like all the other resturants in town, plus his english was not good so there was no chat. Also we were given no free bread and dips or fruit as most other resturants do.

Gyroland Menu - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

A new, clean, friendly Kebab House. Not for a Family meal, but okay for a quick bite, we had a take away we took down to the beach.

Popeyes - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Although this resturant looks more commercial and tacky compared to the traditional Greek Taverna's the service and food quality is good.

Majestic - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Kevan H          8/10

Very similar menu and food quality to most of the resturants in Tsivili, we had a good meal here, staff pleasant, no freebies but as the resturant has its own creperie and ice cream parlour next door the variety of desserts is probably the best in Tsivili.

McDonalds - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

MacDonalds has now been replaced by a Subway, but did not eat here, can have a Subway at home.

Family Restaurant - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Didn't eat here during my holiday but it had an extensive menu and always looked busy. Due to the heat most peaple eat between 8pm and 10pm. This resturant offered "Kids Eat free" between 6pm & 8pm, so if you are holidaying with small children I would suggest you give it a try.

Paradise Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

I Carlsburg did Bars...................

Don't know if this is the best bar in Tsivili, because after going her did not go anywhere else.

Mavrikos Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Paul, to find Mavrikos from Popeyes.Walk away from Popeyes, with Popeyes behind you keep walking up the road, past Majestic on the left then past the family resturant on the right, follow the road round to the right, past the Bakery and Calypso resturant on the left and Paridise Bar on the right. Ahead of you is a Car/Bike/Quad hire place, go up the road to the right of this and there you will find the Mavrikos. If you amble slowly it will still take you less than 10 minutes from Popeyes.

Mavrikos Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Stayed here for a week with my wife and 13 year old son.

The room we were give was small, a 2 birth room with an extra bed sqeezed in, for a self catering appartment the only place to eat was on the balconey, again only really room for 2.
We had room 101 which was immeadiatly behind the reception, we were a bit worried it might be noisy. Needn't have worried the only noise were heard was the phone ringing in reception when we had a long lie in. The balcony had two sliding doors one glass and one a black out screen. We paid 35 euros for the Air Con and 15 euros for the safe. The air con was well worth it as temps hit 40+ degrees in the shade. The room was clean, as was the bathroom cooking facilities included, a 2 hob cooker, a microwave, a toaster and a sanwhich toaster. Maid service was every day, with fresh towels.
Reception and Bar staff were very friendly, the pool area was of sufficient size for the size of hotel, and is clean and well maintained. There are plenty of sun beds and seating around the pool and pool bar. Bar prices, both drinks and snacks are a little higher than you get down in the town, but quality is good, and spirits are served in large measures.
Overall a very nice hotel, a great base for a holiday in great resort, would recommend

Fantasy Mini Golf - (Things To Do in Zante)

Kevan H          9/10

a great mini golf set up, very well maintained, three differnt coa**es, set in well manicured surroundings. 5 euro per person per round, but if you have second game on the same day afater 6pm you get it half price. flood light so you cam play after dark, and as there is a bar at the entrance (molly malones) you can take a drink round with you as play.

Tsilivi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Kevan H          10/10

stayed for one week in hotel mavrikos (super hotel see separate report) the resort has a nice sandy beach, (though much of it covered in sun loungers), shallow slope into warm water. plenty of resturants to choose from, calypso ws probably my favorite but there were many good ones to choose from. a main coa**e and a drink cost about 10 euro a head. paradise bar was very good  fun and maust to try out. also a visit to the local water park, which is just outside tsilivi, a very good day out, nothing too hair raising, great for smaller kids, and more adventurous one providing they are over 1.2m tall. not the main reason for visiting, but the toilets here were the best i have come accross at public place, entrance fee is a not too unreasonable 18 euro (10 or 12 euro for under 12s), and the price includes a snack, slice of pizza, bag of chips, or bagette, and a drink.

the resort can be seen from the back of a horse drawn cart, many on the streets each evening, we bartered a price of 10 euro from an opening offer from 20 euro, and they let my son "drive".
