Zakfari Jeep Safari - (Zante Excursions)

Ken A  (24 August 2005)

"Dog Chase Day" - An excellent and fun day exploring the island and avoiding the crowds. Simon - our guide delivering information and tall stories while Coulis X the driver safely navigating the off road tracks even when chased by goat protecting dogs!! A "not to be missed" experience.

Valantinas Castle - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Our best evening in Tsilivi. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere in what we imagined a traditional taverna would be like. Excellent food freshly prepared at a very good price. Away from and far better than the bigger tourist restaurants on the main street. Highly recommended!

The Olde Vineyard - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ken A

We also stayed at Zante Maris Hotel and walked along the beach to the Olde Vineyard.

Fresh food and friendly service. I definately recommend the Vineyard, although a little out of the way it is well worth finding.

It was very busy the night we went and appeared to be equally popular with Greek and British visitors.

Trenta Nove - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ken A

We had lunch here on our last day and enjoyed a good relaxed meal in very pleasant surroundings.

Just off the beach but much better presented then usual beach side restaurant.

Olive Tree - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Ken A

We chose this restaurant because it appeared attractive and inviting compared to the others in the main street.

However we were disappointed! The food was at the poor end of the standard tourist fare but the prices higher than average.

With such a selection of restaurants available this one can be avoided.

Pieros - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

We had an enjoyable meal here.

A good varied menu, the waiters were friendly and considering it's on the main street the surroundings are pleasant.

Zante Maris Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Ken A

We spent a week at Zante Maris and wish we had booked two! The hotel is in an excellent quiet location right on the beach and only a five minute walk to the tavernas and bars.

The rooms are large, very clean with excellent aircon (quiet and efficient). The staff are cheerful and helpful. There are good facilities which were underused when we were there. We only had B&B, the food was of a good standard but we have had wider and more varied selections in other hotels.

At times it was difficult to get a sunbed as the rules regarding towels on sunbeds were not enforced.

The beach is good with clear water and golden sand but to avoid the stones when you are getting into the water just walk to the right (east) of the hotel to the three large flags.
