Noula Studios - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Laura F

After reading all the great comments about this place was hoping to be writing the same on our return, but sadly NO ! Yes, the location is great, at the Zante Town end of Argassi, a pleasant walk to the majority of restaurants and nice and quiet in the evenings (apart from the noise of the constant scooters etc. but u get those everywhere!) Close to the sea (I won't call a strip of sand barely big enough for 20 sunbeds a beach) and also supermarkets and the bus stop. But the actual standard of accommodation was very poor. Shabby furniture, bedding, crockery etc & a distinct lack of hot water - we only found it to be on in the evening and then it was unreliable. The pool looked lovely, but we preferred to travel to a decent beach. Sorry Noula and Spiros, but we're really disappointed - the complaint letter to Thomson is in the post !

Argassi Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Laura F

We found a teeny tiny strip of sand down the side of the church (Zante Town end) which was full of rubbish but quite peaceful and the swimming was great if you were really desperate. We got a Taxi from the rank opposite the Piccadilly restaurant to Crystal Beach, Kalimaki for 8 Euros each way, worth it, we reckoned if ur not brave enough 2 hire a car/moped like us !

Ethnic - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Awwww, we only found this by chance on the last-but-one day, by logging-on 2 this site in the Mouse House Internet Cafe in the resort! Somehow missed it during our pre-visit preparations and walked right past several times ! How could we ??? It is lovely, by far the best in Argassi. Nice, rustic decor, really cosy atmosphere once Gina puts the lights out, and great food. We had the Ethnic Chicken, Ethnic Lamb Chops, Ethnic Pork (a little bit hotter, this) and Stuffed Pork. Also ethnic chips, garlic bread, tzatziki and onion rings. Not all in one sitting, mind ! All highly recommended, even by my very fussy plain-eating husband. This is honestly the only place I felt really relaxed, sat here for hours, and didn't feel hassled even though there were people queuing up outside 2 come in. Just wish we'd found it sooner. Oh, it's just past the Artemis Bar opposite Smile Tours.

Not bad at all, this place. Had great music on screen, was loving it til they put the footy on, arrrggghhh. Hubby had the mixed grill, he loved it, I had the Peppered Steak. Both great, with REAL CHIPS, methinks !

Venetsiana - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Lovely setting off the main road, but food was ok, nothing amazing. We had mixed souvlaki and beef goujetsi, both quite nice. Service not good - when the waiter asked if we were ready 2 order he jumped back a mile, really seemed 2 get the hump as soon as I started 2 say I wasn't quite ready. Had 2 go up 2 the desk 2 pay in the end I think.

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Ate here twice during our stay. We had the picadilly chicken (much nicer than Brewsters back home, hubby said), peppered steak, pork sauteed in leeks & bekri meze. All very nice but not outstanding.

Papillon - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We liked this one ! We had a pizza and the penne mafioso, which was absolutely delicious.
