Well i must say that it is very pleasing to see some fantastic comments about this hotel. My wife and I stayed up the road in 2004 and vowed that when we came back to Zante we would stay at Crystal Beach (impressed with location), fantastic lunch, great service, brilliant location right next to the sea. Cannot wait until July now, no doubt the time will pass quickly.

Mary H

We had a fantastic holiday starting October 13th. The weather was lovely, the hotel not too busy and the hotel staff very friendly. We were lucky to have a sea view but most of the turtles had gone. We went on the Zakfari 4x4 tour which was fantastic as there were 3 jeeps carrying 12 passengers each. We were taken off road to parts of the island that buses just couldn't get to!! Unfortunately, there was an earthquake just before we came home and i was unlucky enough to be in the bathroom of a restaurant and had jst flushed the toilet, so everyone seemed to blame me for the earthquake!!!!! It would not put me off going back, as it was a perfect holiday.

click to enlarge This is an update to our visit in May, We have just returned from Kalamaki after another wonderful week.
This time we were unable to stay at Crystal Beach but we spent a lot of our time there mainly in the evenings with Costa's Anna and Elizebeth and not forgetting Stelios. Costa is the son of Elizebeth  and is the most wonderful, talented, handsome, wittiest, attentful and MODEST Barman you could meet And here is a picture of the great man.

Roy D

Our third visit to a fantastic hotel. Very friendly and obliging staff, clean and comfortable and the best location you could think of. Thanks to Elizabeth, Elenor, Anna, Dennis, Anastasia and Stelios not to mention everyone else behind the scenes. See you in 2006!

Amanda D

Although we have been to Kalamaki many times before this was our first stay at Crystal Beach and can safely say we would definately stay there again. We had a room with a sea view so we were able to sit on our balcony and watch the sun set.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the standard of the hotel over all is very high. The bed linen and towels are changed every day.

It was great to be able to have a choice of dipping in the pool or going down a few steps to swim in the sea.

Claire R

We first came here 3 years ago and we loved it, so we came again and still loved it. The owner Elizabeth and the other staff Anastasia, Anna are all lovely.

The hotel is very clean, the breakfast's are continental but very nice.

Look out for a black and white dog who hangs around the hotel grounds, he is lovely.

Howard T

We first came here for a week 6 years ago and  have been coming back for 4 weeks ever since.Even the breakfast is better than it looks eaten in such a beautiful setting.

Lorraine M

my partner and myself booked an allocation on arrivel so never been here before were very surprised with what we got  beach very close it closed between 10pm and 5am to allow for the turtles to lay there eggs, panarama excellent for eating, safari bar great laugh with the owners chris and pat and of course alan the scottish dj would highly recommend the jeep safari excellent day out simon the tour guide brill will go back again hopefully next year

Marion &

click to enlarge:  We had two fantastic weeks at the Cyrstal Beach in June 2005 (missed the dogs having puppies came home on 23rd June). We agree with other comments about the breakfast could do with major improvement and the locals in the pool were a pain but other than that the hotel is wonderful, very friendly staff particulary Ilyas and you could not find better views anywhere.  We will go back again! Would recommend the restaurant across the road from hotel and also Hot Lips bar on the Kalamaki Road  or Yo Yos's (English staff ) just a little way from Hotel if you want a really good English Breakfast for about 5 euros.

Claire S

THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT WE DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE HOTEL AND THAT WAS THE BREAKFAST, VERY BASIC AND FOR A FAMILY WITH A 7 YEAR OLD NOT VERY GOOD, HOWEVER THE ROOMS WERE BASIC BUT CLEAN WITH MAID SERVICE EVERY DAY, THE STAFF WERE WONDERFUL AND DENNIS THE LOCAL LAD THAT RUNS THE BEACH BAR WAS GREAT , EVEN WITH THE KIDS, THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING SO IF YOU COME TO STAY HERE I RECOMMEND THAT YOU BOOK A ROOM WITH A SEA VIEW,. HAD NO PROBS GETTING A LOUNGER EVEN AT LUNCH TIME. AND THE BEACH IS GREAT FOR KIDS, ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T SEE ANY OF THE RUBBISH THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LITTERED ON THE BEACH. ALTOGETHER I WOULD GIVE THE HOTEL A 9 AND A HALF. IF THEY COULD GET THE BREAKFAST RIGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A 12. GREAT PLACE..............OH AND THE DOGS ARE VERY WELL BEHAVED NOT AGGRESIVE AT ALL, WENT ON 23 JUNE AND ONE OF THEM HAS JUST HAD 5 PUPPYS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Dave & Margaret

Arrived 27th June for 2 weeks. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, from reception through to the restaurant, pool bar (Dennis), gardener (Ilyas) and the room cleaning ladies.

Great location, magnificent views over the sea and hills, clean and tidy throughout.

The only downside is that the pool is used by all and sundry... a public swimming pool.... invaded by local kids after school, large parties from the beach and tourists staying at nearby apartments without their own nice views of the sea.

Further if you get a sunlounger on the beach it's 7 euro (for 2). Six steps up to our pool and they are free.. open to abuse by anyone!!

Had a great time though and would definately return and recommend.

we are going out to hotel crystal beach on 23/06/2005 for 2 weeks, have a boy of 7, are there any activerties for him and what are the best places to eat and drink

Julie H

The first attempt did not give me chance to emend all the features to excellent

so must add;-

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT ABOUT THE HOTEL

click to enlarge We have just returned from Crystal Beach Hotel (1st May 05- 15th May 05 )  it was the most wonderful holiday we have had.   There were seven of us myself  my Husband  Daughter son-in-law Grandaughter's and Grandaughters Boyfriend. We arrived at the begining of the season what a wonderful reception we recieved very friendly .   We all  had seaview rooms with balconies. What a  panoramic view of the bay, magnificant!! The Hotel had recently been  refurbished lovely, clean and fresh. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very clean and tidy the pool was cleaned every morning. At Breakfast we found that it was mostly Greek based, no bacon. Evening meal's of a good standard but could do with improvement,  the waitress service was very good, nothing was too much trouble. We had heard about the dogs, but they were no trouble at all little darlings. The aircraft did not bother us at all as they stopped at 10pm and did not start till 5am. If we could get a booking back there in September we would do, no luck so far. Also we would like to tell you about The Lighthouse Restaurant run by Derek & Veronica (English), where we had some of the best meals in our two weeks stay, excellent people! (ask them about the beef Rogan Josh ) All in all we had the holiday of a life time wish we were still there

Robert C

Ps: They have a website now : www.crystalbeachhotel.info
Check out the pictures.

Visited most of the Greek islands and found Zakynthos, kalamaki and the Crystal beach one of the most rewarding choices we ever made. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, magical location. The Greek-Canadian family that ownes the hotel is very friendly and always there to help. Will visit again.
Robert, Margaret & kids.

Diana S

we have just 2weeks in the hotel it was ok but i wouldnt go back there there was rats in the streets and we found a couple of dead ones on the beach my husband reported it but nothing was done about it. The other problem was the amount of dogs that wererunning around all over the place they were in and out of the hotel all the time. So all in all i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

Barry R

just come back from zante. and i cant wait to go back again .the hotel was very nice and the local people we found very friendly.in our opinion the best resturant in kalamaki was the taverna paris. we tryed quite a few but found ourselfs going back to the paris the prices where very reasonable and the food was very good .try the beef stafardo its great. all the best from the richards family.

Mel N

Just got back from here the other day...
Excellent...so long as you get a sea view room...Luckily we did...but I felt sorry for the people who only had a view of the courtyard!!
Food and beer is a little more expensive than the rest of the resort. I would reccomend going to the hotel across the road (Klelia) for a light lunch and a beer then back to the poolside at the Crystal...Best of both worlds!!

Jim E

Beautiful Hotel at a magical location. Visited the hotel in 2003 with my girlfriend. Remember guys, anything you want ask from Gus or Elisabeth (the owner) they will be glad 2 help!
Heard they have a website now its www.crystalbeachhotel.info

Gary/paula H

we were the very last punters, out of the hotel end of october 2003,our son got married over there, hotel was fantastic, staff great,as any other hol maker we were skint at end of hol,and flight was not for another 15 hours [middle of the night]so they let us have a room till our pick up time[fantastic]WILL BE GOING BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO BOOK DIRECT. loved the island to +locals great got a bike & saw everywhere,CHEERS

Margaret B

The most beautiful place to eat your breakfast before spending the day on the wonderful Kalamaki beach. Pure heaven!!

Phil C

This was the very first time to Kalamaki, So to stop at great hotel was fantastic. We had rooms looking over the pool/sea. the view was amazing. If you get the chance stop at the Crystal Beach do so you won't regret it.... All the staff were so nice to us, made you welcome. We hope to come back next year. It made it a dream holiday... Thanks, Phil Kim Declan & Amy Crouch & Nana Marlene.

Joanne B

We've just come back from spending two weeks at the Hotel Crystal Beach in Kalamaki and we loved it!! It's in a perfect position, right on the beach, within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars that Kalamaki has to offer, and it has a great pool, clean rooms and a good restaurant. You get a ten per cent discount if you stay in the hotel and eat in the hotel restaurant at night. I'd read some of the comments on this page before we went and no one rated the food highly. We disagree completely. The breakfast is a traditional Greek breakfast, with bread, jam, cereal, coffee and juice, so if you're wanting the full English go into the resort itself, (try Sophia's). But the bread is not stale!! Also eat at Zepos, Stanis, (both near the hotel) and Taverna Paris to sample some good local dishes. Quick tip, the excursions run by local travel companies are cheaper than the Thomas Cook etc ones. Have a great time, I'm sure we'll go back.

Sheena S

Crystal beach hotel is in lovely location the hotel cleanliness is excellent the down side point in what lets it down is they charge above average for drinks and poor food and on arrival offer a 10% discount on eating at the hotel but this gets lost in transit when the bill arrive look out for the extra service charge the breakfast is not worth eating and the pack of dogs that seem to be a problem in the area needs sorting (barking all night long on the road side)if crystal beach hotel get the food right then the best eat out place Zepos across the road would have compatition but for now Zepos is the best to eat at and Crystal the best to stay at

Sandie S

Eat here on a few occations because it was the only place to eat and drink at crystal beach. The food and drinks were cheap enough when your on a day out and the beach, however we always ate in the snack bar ( obviously cheaper). The pool was fab although look out for flying furniture on windy days!

John N

Beware the dogs will drive you mad at night.
The food is abysmal, wake up Crystal Beach management, your location is fantastic and your hotel one of the best for holidays.
But these points need to be addressed urgently

Ronald W

Just returned from Crysyal Beach (030703-170703)another excellent holiday.(was there may 2001)Very few negative comments- breakfast, pool not open until 10am,drinks prices top end of scale in Kalamaki, and dont think about changing sterling in hotel (1.28 EUROS to the pound 1.44 in town 600yds.) Aside that same good service, friendly staff, and of course the family.Back again next year.ps in 30yrs of holidaying abroad this is the only hotel we`ve returned to.

John M

I will be back. It is an excellent family run hotel right on the beach. I was told they now have a website (very basic) for direct bookings. www.crystalbeachhotel.info

Shaun F

We stayed at the Crystal Beach Hotel two years on the trot (01/02). It was the best holidyas we have ever taken. We would have gone back again this year but it was fully booked. The family running the hotel are extremely friendly as are the staff. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Kay C

we have stayed at the hotel twice both times they have been excellent. with regards the fridge my friend had diabetis and she was not able to hire a fridge but they were more than helpfull in providing an area in a fridge. i was also very pregnant and very sick and they could not do enough for us they are all brill

Natasha B

I am thinking of making a booking to stay at the Hotel Crystal Beach for the last two weeks of July. Would you recommend this hotel to a young couple? Are there many bars/restaurants around the hotel?

Kevin G

does anyone have a resent email for the hotel as i have lost mine for them been there twice and love the atmosphere all help would be appreciated.

Jodie H

THINKING OF BOOKING UP TO GO TO HTL CRYSTAL BEACH IN OCTOBER 2003. WANT TO KNOW IF I CAN RENT A FRIDGE AS I WOULD BE TAKING BABY ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD.

Nicki L

Location,Location,Location!
Best place to stay in Kalamaki, visited in 2001,and will be back in June 2003!Right on the beach, lovely and relaxing. As has been said, skip the food, but you do have the best restaurants and bars on the island just down the road,so why worry?
We had a room at front,on road side,no problems,it was nice to watch the world (and the dogs) go by!We wer'nt bothered by noise, but then we did make full use of the cocktail bars!!
CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK!!

Nick D

Hotel been recommended to me, anybody got an e-mail address to contact hotel direct. Please help !

Jonathan V

Stayed in Kalamaki last year and stayed at the 'wrong hotel' - spotted crystal beach, ate there (food not so good) but found that it's beach side location and quietness to be what we were really looking for. Armed with this info came back this year to The Crystal Beach. Wife and three children, sea views (as requested - you can ask for sea view as a preference)and had a wonderful time. Location brilliant. air conditioning great - able to sleep at night with the door closed - therefore no mosquitos (superb - real problem last year) I understand that the dogs that wander around on the street side of the hotel can be annoying to those guests with rooms on that side, but never had any problems of this type ourselves. Excellent holiday, excellent hotel, staff brilliant, rooms clean and air conditioned. Breakfast abismal - eat elsewhere - restaurant food not too hot either. However, this really is the hotel to stay at - views and tranquility at night, overlooking the bay and silver moonlight , with just the noise of the waves to hear, has made this holiday one of the best I have ever had. Just remeber to eat elsewhere! 10 out of 10 for location and service. We will return next year!

had agreat holiday (again!!) which was made better by miss Elizabeth and her team! met lots of friends old and new including the georgous myles and elliot. I am expecting my first baby and was totaly spoilt by the staff and know every cure for morning sickness going!! Agreaaaat holiday with alovely family

Darren P

Excellent hotel, great location right on the beach, wonderful staff from the cleaners, through the waiters and waitresses to Elisabeth the owner. The down side was the standard of cleanliness, it wasn't enough to spoil the holiday or anything, just the kids pool didn't appear to have any direct filtration (although it adjoined the main pool) and as a result soon filled up with dead bugs. Glasses were not regularly collected if on the tables on the grass rather than in the restaurant / bar. The glasses in the bathroom were not cleaned at all during the stay. But these are all minor points. Being located at the end of the resort away from the airport it doesn't suffer at all from aircraft noise and it is well enough away from the main strip to be quiet but close enough to get their in two minutes. A recommendation for when you arrive at the Hellonearth Airport. Don't take the coach transfer, get a cab. By the time we waited an hour in the car park (only later did we find out that it was because someone had lost a case) and spent another TWO HOURS weaving our way through Laganas and Kalamaki - god knows why, we seemed to spend an age outside each hotel, and the rep certainly didn't tell us - we could have taken the 10 minute taxi ride, unpacked, had lunch and spent the afternoon by the pool! Enjoy! We (myself, Andrea, Elliot and Myles) met a lot of friends their, if any of your are reading this drop us an email: darrenpeake@aol.com

Steve M

We booked this last september with JMC - Only £604 for 14 Days for 3 of us !!. Superb Hotel - Clean - good value drinks and food, all the staff were helpful,Colur TV in every room and the location is perfect. They aren't with a tour operator next year, as they feel they've been ripped off by the one they're with this year !!,

Sue B

Hotel is v.clean and staff always there to please. Location superb but bedrooms are now ready for refurb as they are very dingy with dark furniture and brown fluffy blankets. Kept awake every night by dogs howling and barking, traffic noise and very very noisy guests returning to their hotel rooms. Views and proximity to beach could not have been better. Some rooms have a wonderful sea view but their allocation is just 'luck of the draw' otherwise rooms have courtyard/garden view or road view. Would go back to Zante but try to source quiter accommodation .

Sam B

MY BOYFRIEND AND I ARE STAYING AT THE CRYSAL BEACH HOTEL FROM THE 2ND MAY FOR TWO WEEKS, HOPE ITS EVERYTHING YOU GUYS SAY IT IS!! LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING ANYONE WHILE WE ARE THERE. SAM & COLIN

Rachael S

I have stayed at crystal Beach a few times now and thought it was great. The breakfast isn't much to write home about unless you like stale bread but the rooms and location are excellent. The rooms are basic but comfortable. the airconditioning is expensive but can be overided underneath the panel!!!!

Victoria T

We are going to the Crystal Beach Hotel in May 2002 can anyone tell us if there are facilities to rent fridges in the rooms or not as we have a three year old child. We would be grateful for any info. Also can anyone tell me if they are dealing in euro`s or can drachma still be used? Thanks V Thomson.

Kay C

Howard T

We are coming back for the third time in May and we have already booked for September

Claire M

ALTHOUGH WE DIDNT STAY THERE,WE SPENT MOST OF OUR TIME THERE BECAUSE OF THE AMAZING FOOD AND THE BEST SERVICE IN ALL THE WORLD FROM LEONARDO (WAITER) AND ALPHA MAN(BAR TENDER)THE STEAKS ARE BRILLIANT AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CHICKEN AND BACON SOUVLAKI. CRYSTAL BEACH IS HEAVEN

Mel H

Had room overlooking road. Kept awake at night by dogs barking during night. Breakfasts were a poor. Little variation.

Dean M

A beautiful hotel at the edge of the resort of Kalamaki.Nice pool and perfect as a couple or with kids. The beach is literally on yopur doorstep and is on of the best although there are better further along the coast away from Kalamaki and Laganas. It is very quiet in this area of a night and the food isnot bad either.Enjoy the visit and RELAX...

Gidpn B

My wife and I are looking to go to Kalamaki in September 2002 and possibly stay at the Crystal Beach Hotel, and we were wondering if anyone could give us any feedback about the hotel and the resort itself. We have a daughter who will be 2yrs and 9months.

Mark R

Excellent hotel, helpful staff and spotless rooms.Nice pool (couldnt keep our 5 yr old out).Remote air con in our room.Near airport, but minimal noise which didnt bother us.Average breakfast.A few minutes walk from bars...Would go again.

Vic T

This HAS to be the best hotel in Kalamaki - if not on the bay, just 5 steps away from the beach. Spotlessly clean (not even a touch of dust on the furniture or in the Air Conditioned rooms), the staff are cheerful & helpful and relaxing in the covered terrace overlooking the beach cannot be beaten. We booked on the spur of the moment on Tues 3rd July - went Thurs 5th expecting run of the mill holiday accomodation but VERY pleased with the hotel - I cannot find any faults to tell. The hotel's pool is perfect & cleaned every morning before breakfast is finished. Ask your travel agent to arrange for rooms number 112, 113, 114, 115, or 116 as all these are overlooking the pool & beach.

Kevin N

The resort centre is but a 2 minute walk up the road !!

Kathy B

The aerial view of 'Crystal Beach' Hotel looks a little remote. Is it near resort centre

Paul R

Second visit just as good as last!. we will both go back for a third. A lovaly place for a honymoon!!!!

Kay C

we are going on honeymoon and staying at the crystal beach hotel what is the service like and has anyone else honeymooned there?

John B
