we have stayed at the rainbow many times now athena/nicos and all the family are really lovely people.

nothing is to much trouble for them. the most welcoming family you could ever meet.

the snacks and drinks from the pool bar are reasonably priced and always available. no one ripping you off here.

the rooms are clean and tidy we have never had a problem with hot water.

being a football fanatic it is great to be able to watch the matches on the large screens in the bar.

the food in the taverna is fantastic everything is fresh (nothing frozen) all cooked by nicos's mum

and what a choice. the new pool is brilliant and kept so clean. once you get to know your way around kalamki which does not take long you will love it. a slow 10 minute walk to the beach the water is so warm and clean and safe for kids - about a 5 minute walk and you are at the main street of kalamaki where there are all the bars and tavernas - not a bit like laganas which is the next resort along the main road and is a lot more noisy there ideal for the youngsters who like the clubs and loud music.

thank you nicos and athena and all the family for many great holidays you know we will always be coming back.

the best way to see the island is to rent a car or jeep, the roads are much better now than 10 years ago just be careful and enjoy yourselves no need to rush about remember you are in greece.

Star (Caretta) Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

My wife and I stayed at the Pelouzo last year early September. We have been going to Zante for about 10 years and stay in Kalamaki - we had not heard or seen the Pelouzo before.

What a great suprise when we got there. Brand new and with air conditioning.

The staff where great an the Pool Bar was always open when we got back for a night cap late at night.

The new Pool is lovely and never to crowded. We had breakfast every morning which is the normal continental.

Situated about a slow five minute stroll from the tavernas a bars and about a 15 minute walk to the beach

You do get the aircraft noise but it is not a problem (bit of a novelty really) they don't fly after about 10 pm. We had no problems sleeping at all (might have been the Ouzo)

We would recommend to any one.

Rainbow Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Athena and Nicos and all the family who own the Rainbow are lovely people nothing is to much trouble the food is execellent and the choice is great. The Pool - bar and food all day a great place to relax.All the food is fresh and beautiful. The prices are very very good. The best on the island. Cant wait to go back again.

Hermes Car Rental - (Other Things in Kalamaki)

Yannis is a lovely guy always helpful. We have

been renting scooters and jeeps from him for about 8 years now never been let down.

Vehicles are safe and roadworthy and most are nearly new. Best place on the island to rent a vehicle looking forward to being back again soon and enjoying the sun and relaxation again.

Two Brothers Studios - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Just got back from 2 brothers no complaints at all. No problems with security rooms are basic- yes but very very clean.

My wife and I slept with the balcony doors open every night and had no fears at all.

The maids especially Angela very friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them.

We have been going to Zante (Kalamaki) for 10 years now and will certainl;y have no problems of staying at "2 Brothers" again.

Weather was fantastic.

Yes in the rooms you get a fridge - kettle - small cooker - and we had a toaster and air conditioning (cost of 5 euros a day) we also had security box 28 euros for 2 weeks.

The two brothers who run the accomoation are very shy and speak very little English but friendly.

The only down side was the loud mouthed Brits who had an almighty row on our last night keeping most of the other residents awake - Glad they dont live next door to us.(Morons)

So no need to have any worries about staying here very close to tavernas and bars which are only about a 5 minute walk the beach is about a 15/20 minute stroll. Enjoy Zante and the great people of the island.

Just returned home from The Rainbow again on 24.5.07. How she can say that they dont have a pool well!! it is a beautiful spotlessly pool clean (I thinks the ouzo must have blinded her) The food again was excellent thanks to Nikos Mum averything fresh again no frozen stuff served up here!! Nikos and Athena are the perfect Hosts nothing is to much trouble they really go out of their way to make your holiday special we are hoping to return again later in the year well "WHY NOT"

Claire did a great job with the Karaoki and the quiz night Well done !! Hot water whenever you want it for showers brill!! Can't wait to get back see you all soon

Hello again to Nicos Athena and family Congratulations on the news that Athena is pregnant well done to the both of you. we understand that baby is due in June (you will make great parents) cant wait to see you all again in May. Also I want to thank you for making our 2 stays last year such a great success especially for my birthday in June. I am still recovering !!! Hope things are all now ok after the typhoon. Get the beer and champagne ready for us there are about 14 of us coming again in May and we have Lindas birthday to celebrate and of course the iminent birth. good luck and best wishes from all of us what a great place to stay and eat drink and relax. (Athena loosen up your voice ready for Jamie to duet with you on the karaoki ha ha. Love you all THE LEGGETT GANG
