Went on the Zakfari trip on 24 May 2005 and had a great time - it's an excellent way to be a lazy adventurer!  You get to see loads of the island which would either be fairly inaccessible or a nightmare to get to independently, we came across a few lost souls en-route!.    However, we took a packed lunch and en-route was a restaurant and although reasonably priced we felt a bit obliged to sit down and eat.  One idea could be to either increase the cost slightly of the day to incorporate the lunch cost or reiterate to people when they book that the restaurant is optional.  The market place was great and the wine is recommended, it really didn't give me a hangover!  Overall, a fab day and totally recommend it but take your sunglasses as it can get a bit dusty, your swimming gear for the beach bit and your suntan cream as it was extremely hot by the afternoon!  Thanks to all the guides and drivers who were excellent and well organised.

Tsilivi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

We stopped in the Georgia Studios right opposite McDonalds!  As a resort it was fine and initial worries about noise at night were alleviated as everywhere near us shut down at midnight.  Not sure I'd want to be there in the middle of August and would probably want somewhere a bit quieter.

Shipwreck Viewing Platform - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Paula T

We were told on a tour that the reason why the cafe is shut is because the owner built it and the platform with no planning permission!!!  It's worth the walk round the coast path to get a much better view and when you see how thin the platform is, using your camera zoom etc, you'll probably be thankful you didn't stand on it.  Having had many people stand on the platform I'm sure it's perfectly safe but I didn't feel that confident.  Go walk the coast path for 5 mins instead - it's worth it.

St Nickolas Beach Diving School - (Diving in Zante)

Wendy, I went to the diving school, towards the end of May and it was amazing.  It helps to be able to swim and maintain your balance but the staff are extremely professional and conscientious.  The first dive can feel a bit overwhelming but the instructors never leave you and they are always checking your equipment and that you're ok.  They also take a photo of you but you have to pay extra. I also did the 2nd dive and it was totally worth the extra cost.  I felt more relaxed and confident and the instructor took me out a bit deeper and it was just fantastic.  I don't know of a website for them I'm afraid.

Kalamaki Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Paula T

Didn't stay at Laganas or Kalimaki and went to Kalimaki beach to watch the turtles at the end of May.  Was there about 6pm and the beach was empty.  It was great to see the turtles popping up all over the place before they were due to nest later that night.  I much preferred to see the turtles that way than on a boat trip, felt like it would harass them at an inportant time, but can't comment on how good the boat trips are.
