Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Sue R

Hi Stephanie, myself & my husband, John have just come back from staying at the Sirene appartments.

We were in a studio which was extremely basic and small (more than 2 beds in the room would be difficult) The fridge was good but you couldn't cook any gourmet meals on the table top 2 ring cooker. There was no kettle but a small pan to boil water. The balcony was supposed to overlook the pool but you couldn't see out as there were overgrown plants/trees blocking the view (I suppose it made it more private!)

To be fair, it's the first time we've been to Greece and everyone has said the standards are always far lower than places like Spain & Portugal etc.
Although basic, the place was clean and the staff friendly. The bar and restaurant were very good and the pool and sunbed areas were also good.
It's quite along way out of the main street in Kalimaki (a good 15 min walk along the road without pavements) a taxi ride cost 5 euros so we did quite abit of walking!)

I wouldn't stay in the Sirene again but it didn't spoil our hols and you generally do get what you pay for.

Have a great time, check out the Down Under bar the staff are brilliant!

Cheers
Sue

Down Under - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Sue R  (15 May 2005)

Wow, I'm amazed I've come across this.

Myself & my husband, John have just come back from a week in Kalimaki and had a brill time mainly because of the fun we had at Down Under.

If you remember us (tall guy(42) and small blonde lass (39) propping up the bar most nights) thank you Kim, Nick, Adonis (or was it Tony?) and Darren for a very welcoming, entertaining and friendly time.

I'm sure you'll do a roaring trade as the season picks up. Very best of luck and keep practicing all the fancy moves.
I'll get John to put some pics on the message boards and will try to send some snail mail to you too. Got a nice one of Darren and Kerry.

Much love
Sue & John

Boo Hoo, we've gotta go back to work tomorrow!!!
