Absolutely brilliant - help yourself buffet and eat as much as you like for €8.90! Depending on which night of the week you go there's a different menu - we went on Saturday and it was great.
Best Gyros Pitta we've ever had!
Fantastic - best food ever! The deep fried mushrooms, calamari and onion rings starters were to die for. Would recommend the Lasagne, Moussaka, Mixed Grill, Steak with Green Peppercorn Sauce and Calamari main courses and the Lemon Merangue and Apple Pie deserts!
Service is brilliant - the waiters were really, really friendly - and not forgetting Tony out there on the strip!
Michelle's baby is gorgeous.
Just spent two weeks here - absolutely fantastic! Studio for 2 on the ground floor of the pool bar block overlooking the road was a bit dark as there was only one way in and out but it was spotlessly clean - I think it had recently been refurbished as the brand new fridge wasn't even plugged in! Had a slight accident the first night when the showere flooded the whole room - something to do with the valve which should have taken the water away being put in upside down. Cleaner and plumber came asap and it was all sorted with no other problems for the rest of the holiday. We were a bit worried when we overhead someone complaining that their bedding had not been changed in a week - ours was changed at least 6 times in the two weeks so I don't know what the problem was. We ate in the pool snack bar every other night - the pasta carbonara and moussake were excellent. We ate at Odessey the other nights. Apartments are in a great location - although walking across the beach in the first week was a bit of alottery as to whether you got wet or not but the tide seemed to go out much further the second week so it wasn't a problem. You do need to get your towels on the sunbeds before 8 am if you want to go at the front overlooking the sea though!
There between 6th and 20th May. It was cloudy when we got there on Thursday afternoon, Friday morning, most of Sunday, all of the following Sunday and most of the Monday but when the sun was out it was hot. Really needed a jacket or cardigan and long skirt or trousers in the evenings as it was very chilly. Unfortunately we couldn't get to Shipwreck Cove on a boat trip as the sea was too rough and the coastguard turned us back when we got to the Blue Caves so that was a bit disappointing. We had seen it from the land viewpoint the day before but that's not something for the fainthearted!
Visited 6th to 20th May 2004. When we arrived on a cloudy afternoon and started driving through the resort in the bus we both thought - what a dump! It just looked very run down and 'tired' and when we went out for a walk to find out where everything was we had a look in some of the shops and they were so dusty it just looked as though they had pulled the shutters down at the end of last season and then just opened them up again without actually doing anything. Some of them were still like that when we left but most had made an effort to at least put the duster around the shelves even though they hadn't bothered to dust the stock! Fortunately all the restaurants we ate in were spotless apart from the sand. At the start we thought Zakynthos was a place we would not go back to but we did change our minds by the end - but would probably go to Aghios Sostis, Alykes or Alykanas instead!
Monday 17th May 2004
Went from Alykanas jetty on a 45 seater fastboat to Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cove but only made it to the Blue Caves as we were turned back by the coastguard as the sea was too rough around the headland at Skinari - we had seen th shipwreck from the land viewpoint the day before though! Absolutely breathtaking!
