In response to Charlene Burke: Direct Holidays appear to be offering these apartments. I think they are part of MyTravel formerly Airtours. They list the Sirene phone number as 00 30 695 41753

Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Very Dissapointing. Food was good but the service and price let the place down badly. We were overcharged and then short changed. Will be returnung to Kalamaki in 3 weeks but will not return to this restaurant.

Paolo - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Simon W

Going back to Kalamaki for the 3rd time on July 16th, Paolos will be one of the first places we visit. My favourite meal was the 'Hotpot'(I know this sounds english but trust me it isn't) and my partners favorite was the Keftedes (meatballs). Our favorite wine was Lac des Roche, a dry white . Our 12 year old son suprised the waiter by ordering the Rabbit which he said was a bit chewy, very nice but he wouldn't have it again. We usually got there about 8 O'clock and never had any delays with the service. Staff very friendly and more often than not gave us a free drink at the end of the meal. All in all an excellent place that I would recommend to anyone.

Amaryllis Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Location of Amaryllis: From the T junction head west along Laganas Road, past Mermaids, past Pandesia until you get to Paolos restaurant on your right. Amarylis is then 30yds down a side road that leads down to the beach passing hotel metaxa, dennys inn, john and joys on the way. If this is still not clear goto http://www.justzante.co.uk/Zante/Kalamakimap.htm and the amaryllis is directly below the word ROAD on the left side of the map. Hope this helps!

There are no banks or ATMs in kalamaki. Nearest ATM is in Laganas 30 - 40 minute walk away or 5 euros in a taxi. The banks are in Zante Town, about 7-8 euros in a taxi.

Hi Terri Ann

No I'm not the same Liz (t'other halfs name is Simon ).  But we do have something in common, we both obviously love this hotel and Kalamaki .  We have stayed at the Metaxa for the last six years and plan to go back hopefully later this year but definately next year, so maybe we will meet up in the future.

Buon Amici - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Liz C          10/10

We were lucky enough to find this little gem of a restaurant when it first opened, and we've been lucky enough to go back every year since - 14th visit very soon

Think we've probably tried most dishes over the years and it's too tough a choice to pick any one as a particular favourite - my advise would be choose anything, you won't be disappointed

Over the years standards have continued to remain top class and the restaurant looks as clean and bright today as it did when it first opened - check out the cutlery and glasses, they sparkle!!

For the regular visitors (and I know there are many) not much has changed this year - there is a new dip with the bread, feta and cheese - very good  and the house red is made from different grapes - still as good, extremely drinkable and very reasonably priced

Thanks Nikos, Liza and staff for your continue dedication and hard work to provide such an outstanding restaurant - Kalamaki just wouldn't be the same without you

Needless to say we'll be back - probably this time next week - 17 nights this time

Liz and Simon xx
