Bocca BBQ - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Tina B  (26 June 2006)

Had a fantastic meal here on our first night - the steak was cooked to perfection.  Went back again during our stay and had the special which was only €18 for garlic bread, salad and a massive plate of spagetti bolognese.  The waiters were all really friendly and the guy standing outside the restuarant was really friendly and not pushy at all  Wink  Would recomend this restuarant.

Artemis - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Tina   (26 June 2006)

After many nights of being pestered to eat there, we finally went.  It was a nice meal with pleasant waiters, and good value for money.  The guy outside was very friendly, and a real charmer to the ladies!!

Athina Apartments - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Tina

We stayed at the Athina last year, and although they are basic, they were clean and the staff were really friendly.  These apartments are centrally located, and the restuarants and shops are a stones throw away.

Agios Sostis Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Tina           10/10

Have just returned after our fourth visit to Zante, but this was the first time we visited Aghios Sostis.  It cost €1.20 and about 10/15 minutes on the bus from Kalamaki.  We couldn't believe how peaceful and relaxed it was, considering Laganas is just around the corner.  The sun loungers are free to use and there are a few beach front restaurants to choose from.  We decided to walk back, along the beach to Kalamaki.

For a really relaxed atmosphere, visit Aghios Sostis.

Kalamaki Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Tina           10/10

Have just got back from my fourth year running to Kalamaki.  The atmosphere in this resort is so nice and the Greek people are so genuinely friendly and interested in finding out more about you.  Can highly recomend The Roof Garden (next to the Cava Dora apartments) for excellent food and they are really lovely people.  P & P's is a chilled out bar serving cocktails and coffees, and Labros and Angelo are really lovely guys.  Had some interesting conversations with the owner of Sugar Reef, (which also serves lovely food)  Ellis (the guy selling trips at the T junction) is so sweet - even when he knows you aren't going to book a trip he still wants to to talk to you.  He knows his geography and is always asking about where you come from.

I hope that Kalamaki stays exactly as it is and retains its charm and warmth, as the locals here are such lovely people who will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.

Will definately be back next year.....if not sooner!

Merlis Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Wasn't impressed with this restaurant at all.  The food lacked something - flavour possibly?  Had chicken souvlaki which was so burnt it was black on the outside, jacket potato was rock hard and cold, as were the vegetables.  No one seemed particulary interested in the fact that most of the dinner was left.  Other diners around us complained and said that the meat was too tough but the waiter did nothing.  Would not recomend this to anyone unfortunately.
