Sugar Reef - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Mark B  (19 June 2007)        10/10

On our holiday in june 07 we had been told how good sugar reef was so we decided to go along and see for ourselves what the restaurant / bar was like.

its a family run business with denis who fronts the bar and restaurant and his mother angela who prepares and cooks the food, the food is superb everything is freshly prepared and freshly cooked and you can taste the freshness when you take your first bite, again denis does what he does best makes absolutely fantastic cocktails but there again he is ranked 8th in the world so he knows what he is doing, the cocktails are works of art.

we had a fantastic time at sugar reef we will be back again next year so denis and angela take care

see you soon

we came to tesoro for a meal and we ended up having the worst meal that i have tasted in the area

i asked for lemon chicken and when it came it tasted very acidic it was horrible and i refused to pay for my meal as i couldn't eat it instead i went to BIG BOYS in lagana and had a slice of pizza that was really good to eat..

i wouldn't and couldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone

Horse Riding - (Zante Excursions)

Mark B          10/10

we went horse riding in kalamaki in june 07 to ZANTE HORSE TREKKING CENTRE please do not get confused by the cowboy outfit on the corner by the louis zante hotel who stole there name, the horses are genuine and are ideal for the experienced or novice rider,if you would like to book a horse ride ring this number 0030 6938173216 ask for yanni or natasha they will pick you up from your hotel and return you after your ride like they done with us ,we had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of the 1hr ride.

every time we come to argassi we eat at the 24 / 7 snack bar illias always makes you welcome he is a really nice bloke and he remembers us each year, like other people have said he doesn't sleep he is always at work i dont know how he does it,anyway the food is great here and each night we have a tradition of having a chocolate crepe to round the day off with

dont give him a try at the end of your holiday as you will only find out when its too late what you've been missing

Zakynthos Airport - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Mark B          1/10

i have to agree with the rest of the users on this site you definately can't call zakynthos an "international airport" it falls short of the most basic commodities i.e. seating, after you are used to airports in the uk you will be shocked by the condition of this airport,on the last day of your holiday you start to feel down about going home but once you are stuck in departures, you look forward to a comfotable seat on the plane( yep thats how bad the airport is),but it is a small price to pay for a wonderfull holiday that will make you want to come back time and time again.

Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Mark B          8/10

stayed at denny's inn for the first time from the 29th may to the 13th june 2008 had a great time there, the hotel is really well presented and decorated to a high standard the pool is to die for, the water is blue'est you've ever seen.Mary, Bev and Marie the receptionists are so friendly and will do what ever they can for you nothing is too much trouble.the only down side is the breakfast it is poor as it wasn't what we had expected.

would stay here again
hope to see you all again

Zakynthos Airport - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Mark B          2/10

just travelled back from zakynthos on the 13th of june 2008 i was pleased to hear that they had a new departures lounge but i wasn't pleased for long.

there is only 1 good part to the airport and that is you queue inside now and not outside.
when we were waiting to check in there where 3 queue's 1 for manchester ,1 for gatwick and 1 for birmingham with hundreds of passengers waiting there are about 10 check in desks BUT they only decided to have 3 manned 1 for each destination so check in took hours still, when we went through into the departure lounge we were stunned as the airport still didn't supply many seats for its passengers about as many seats as the old departure lounge, people had no choice but to sit on the floor still.

Sugar Reef - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Mark B (12 June 2009)

came back from kalamaki today the 12th of june 2009 and was dissapointed that SUAGR REEF is closed the shutters are down and the sign above the door has gone it was closed in October last year as well, when on holiday june 2008 denis did say that he wasn't too sure if he should of opened, its a great loss to kalamaki as you know denis is a great host angela his mum is a great cook and the atmosphere is always a good one and everyone is welcome.

Tazies Menu - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Mark B          2/10

went to tazies on our last night on the 11th of june 2009 but we where very dissapointed with the service and the quality of the food we had a 20 minute wait for food to be brought to the table then it went down hill, the pizza base was so crispy it was like eating cracker bread, the carbonara was very salty and the chicken nuggets where awful it was embarrasing for us since we took a friend with her 2 young children for  something too eat.

last year the food was great though
