Tsilivi Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Richard F

The beach was okay but don't go expecting too much. Far too many sunbeds now adorne the whole of this beach which spoilt it for us. This left little room for the kids to roam. Not sure whether this beach is cleaned properly each day many of the beach bar owners and sunbed sellers seemed to just rake the sand over each morning rather than pick up the fag buts, bottle tops etc. No sign of Dennis The Menace where has he gone ? Sea was warm and safe to swim in. Word of warning though there did not seem to be a flag warning system up and running the two weeks we were there 4/9/03 - 18/9/03. All in all average I have been on better beaches.

Tsilivi Beach Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

hotel was okay. if you have a child aged 0 - 2 be warned the cots are very small and the first one we had to exchange as it was broken and not clean. all staff except marie (who likes to lord it over the other girls being the owners daughter and is often stroppy) were extremely pleasant and doted over my 13 month daughter. breakfast is basic and i mean basic avoid unless you love stale bread and cheese. go to popeye's or the sunshine bar for a good ol english breakfast
rooms are kept clean but towels were sometimes not changed regularly enough. wo't be coming back due to the diabolical airport. 4 departures crammed into one little lounge no where to sit with our daughter. awful. also please don't buy anything at the airport it is an utter rip off even for airport standards. i stuppidly paid 3 euro's for one normal sized can of coke!!!! (over £2.00!!)
sun loungers are also a rip off at 6 euro's gone up 1 euro since aug 03. i think zante is now paying the price. they have raked in stakes of cash from tourism but failed to improve standards. top priority improve the drainage pipes (always smells of sewerage) i refuse to wipe my a**e and stick paper in a bin. this the 21st century wakey wakey!!
