Arkadianos Hotel - (Accommodation in Agios Sostis)

Joanne R  (23 May 2003)

We have just got back after having a brilliant holiday. There was 10 in our party and we all enjoyed it.The apartment themselves were very basic but they were very clean on arrival. The walls are very thin and you could here your neighbours every move, taking a hot shower was like playing russian roulette somtimes there was plenty of hot water sometimes just a trickle and the first morning we had no water at all.The apartments were in a perfect location right on the beach which was lovely, it was much nicer than Laganas beach.Everyone in the resort was very friendly and we got plenty of free drinks at the wild rose club though there prices were as expensive as the Uk.We would definetly go back to this resort again but not to these apartments there are much better ones in the area.

We really enjoyed our meal here, the restaurant was set in lovely gardens and the meal was lovely and hot I had a traditionl greek dish can't rememember what it was called but it was very tasty. There was some very tasty waiters too so recommended if your single. They played some traditional greek music and my friend and I danced with the owner which was a laugh. I wouled highly recommend this place.

This was one of the best meals I had while we were here. The food was served piping hot and it was a very generous sized portion. The service was good though it was quite difficult to understand the waiter. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Zante Town Shoppers Special - (Zante Excursions)

Joanne R

We booked this excursion as we were given a free voucher to the value of 15 euro's.Basically it was only a free taxi ride into zante town. There was 8 of us so we had a nice meal then had a wander round the town then went in the oldest building in zante which happened to be a taverna it was called the village inn.It had loads of character and we only wished we hadn't eaten as we would have liked a meal there. While we were there we saw a local wedding taken place and the bride and groom were in traditional dress that was lovely to watch. The port is very picturest and we took a few photo's.The wine tour was a waste of time didn't really see much though we did taste several wines,I think they take you there just so you buy wine though it was cheap at 7 euro's.

Glass Bottomed Boat Trip - (Zante Excursions)

Joanne R

Four of us booked this trip and we had the boat to ourselves.we first went to the keri caves where the boat went right inside the water was very clear and you could see lots of fish, then we went to turtle island, which does look like a turtle hence the name, and had 2 hours sunbathing it was like being marooned on a island. Then we went in search for the logger head turtles which we saw 3 of and they were amazing especially when they come up for air. We were amazed how big they were some are as big as 70 kilo's.The trip cost 22 euro's each but we were out for 6 hours.

May - (Best Time to Visit)

Joanne R

We found this is the best time to travel. we arrived on the 15th may and the temperature was much hotter than we were expecting, high 90's most days not that we were complaining as we had checked the internet before we went and it said it was low 20's and cloudy,we never had cloud one day. Also the resort was nice and quiet you managed to get a sun bed with out getting up the at crack of dawn and we only got charged twice for them.I would highly recommend going in low season.

Maestro - (Restaurants in Agios Sostis)

Joanne R

We only had our breakfast here and found them very good. For 4 euro's you got 1 sausage a piece of bacon, 2 egg's,beans,tomatoe,mushroom's,2 slices of toast, orange juice, and tea or coffee.also if you bought any drinks or meals you got 10% of if you stayed at the arkadianos apartments.

Boomerang - (Restaurants in Agios Sostis)

Joanne R

We ate here most nights and most mornings, mainly because the two people who ran the restaurant were so friendly. It was run by an Albania Called Ben and his Scottish wife Rose, and they went out of there way to make you welcome. On friday night they have a BBQ and greek night and for 10 euros you get chicken ,rib, sausage, greek salad, tzaki and chips. You also get half a litre of white or red wine between two people included in the price.Beware Ben might try and get you dancing on the table with him by the end of the evening. On our last night it was my 40th birthday celebration and Ben came out with a delicous chocolate birthday cake with candles and a bottle of bubbly which he gave us free of charge.

Arkadianos Hotel - (Accommodation in Agios Sostis)

Hi, Anna in answer to your question it should be fairly warm in may, we went May 16th and the temperature was in the 90's.You should find a few restuarants that serve veggie food as 2 of our friends that came with us were veggie's, they would recommend sirroco as he had a special veggie menu and are planning to return just to see Ben the owner of the resturant as he was so friendly. You do not have to pay to just lay on the beach. Hope you have a lovely time.
