Letsos Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykanas)

Rachel S

Visited in September this year, lovely hotel, friendly staff,(Dennis was crazy!), though the cleanliness was a little poor, Sheets were changed twice in a week, the toilets were ok .. though the typical Greek ancient sewage system was.... interesting! The hotel was well situated about 5 minutes from a lovely beach. A few watersports- though were quite high priced. Lots of places to eat near the hotel, all friendly staff and cheap. I particuarly liked the Possidon. Lots of cocktail bars that are so relaxed that you could sit sipping a cocktail, until early in the morning. Most evenings we ended up coming back to the hotel pool bar, though the drinks were quite expensive, you could probably pop in the Letsos shop next door and by the same thing 1/2 the price. The hotel has a lovely pool where we met so many friendly people. Alykes about 15 minutes walk from the hotel is a little bit more happening, was introduced by some friends we met, to a bar called the Relax bar, quite small though the food was amazing well worth a visit. Went on a excursion to see the ship wreck- was a little disapointed though the beach was absoutely amazing, the waters and caves around it are well worth seeing. Had a great holiday, lovely weather, people and food. Would go back to Zante again though maybe not to the same hotel.

Alykanas Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Rachel S

The Beach was amazing!! So shallow you could walk out for miles and still touch the bottom. It was warm and clear, you could see the little fish swimming round your feet. Watersports were available though they were a little bit expensive. Has a sandy beach with loads sunbeds to choose from, though be careful, the prices for sunbeds do range dramatically, depending on who owns them. The cheepest we found were about 5 Euros for a day. Great beach for relaxing and watching the day go by!

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Rachel S

If you go to Zante you have to visit the shipwreck, it is on all the holiday brochures and is all the reps go on about it. Though I did expect it to be better than it was. Luckily we went on a hot sunny day, so we could see everything. I expected it to be an old wooden boat that was close to shore, though instead it was an old rusty boat. The beach itself is not sandy though made up of pure white stones... very painful to walk on and they are so hot. The water was amazing, clear and blue- the best part of the trip! The Caves: Once you have seen one you have seen them all. A very long day though, though you have to visit!

La Caretta - (Restaurants in Alykanas)

Rachel S

We watched this man (spinning his menu's) for 2 nights, lure his customers in. So we decided to visit. This was my second favourite restaurant, great service and lovely people. Reasonably cheap and great food.

Poseidon - (Restaurants in Alykanas)

The best food we had! Went there 3 times in a week and everytime we had great service and food. The staff were friendly, came and talked to you about your day. Even if you were not attending to go into the restaurant they would talk to you. Definately the best 10/10.

August - (Best Time to Visit)

Rachel S

Went for a week (August 25th), we landed in Thunderstorms and really heavy rain; me and my boyfriend were going home! We collected our suitcases and within 5 minutes the sky was clear and sunny and sooooo hot; it stayed like this for the rest of the week. Got a wicked tan!
