Along the lines of Mark Green's question How long does it take to get from the centre of the town to the appartments - do you need a torch as in many Greek resorts. Also do the appartments come with enough towels, don't mind bringing my own but take up a lot of room in suitcase !

Courser - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Very nice food - probably the best chicken and black bean I've ever had, not too sure about the spring rolls though. Boiled rice portion was plenty for 2 to share. Service very quick - perhaps a bit too fast though as felt rushed, we got our food about 5 mins after ordering. Price was far too expensive compared to other restaurants in area, similar to posh chinese in UK.

Piccadilly - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Very attentative service from bevy of young greek men ! Food very reasonably priced, 2 x starters, 2 x mains, 1 x beer and 1 x water was just over 21 euro. Zakynthian Chicken very nice and a massive bit of chicken, 2nd best Tatziki on holiday.

Papillon - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Went here 1st night. Service a bit slow, but food was nice, greek salds nice and fresh and pizza was tasty. Safe option but nothing special.

Edem - (Restaurants in Argassi)

On the 'back road' next to Illusion, go right just before the Factory (going up the hill) and follow the road, restaurant is about 5 mins on left hand side. Or head behind Stars and bear left at the fork and then follow the footpath. Nice setting with plant covered eating area, very cute family of kittens mewing for food and friendly staff. Food very nice - large portions - ate far too much though so couldn't manage my free Ouzo with the bill, wouldn't say it was the cheapest in Argassi but probably the most relaxing as no traffic noise at all.

Red Lion - (Bars in Argassi)

Vanessa K  (17 September 2002)

Cheap here - 1 euro for a 1/2 pint of local brew and cocktails are 3 euro Karokee most nights from 9.30 (free shot for all singers) and quiz on Sunday evening, movies/football in the day time. Didn't have breakfast but seemed to be cheapest in town. Limited standing area so when all the seats are full you have to wait on the road for a space !

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Very busy and didn't book, but managed to get a table within 25 mins so OK as had travelled from Argassi. Very efficient staff, if a bit rushed I don't know how they do it every night of the week. Had mixed starters to share to begin and it was huge, nice selection and very cheap, mains were lovely as well but I was too full to finish mine. Very nice setting and very lively

Target Bar Taverna - (Restaurants in Argassi)

Brilliant views from high above Argassi saw amazing lightning storm across mainland. Went on BBQ night so had plenty of free wine and food was lovely for just 12e each, got huge greek salad, bread, tatziki, pork gyros done on an outside BBQ and chips. Greek dancing was OK but not as professional as I have seen before, dancers were very young and seemed to be doing it to earn a bit more pocket money! Very friendly atmosphere and deffinatly the best place we visited in the week were were in town. Pick up the free transport from the notice board on the right hand side of the road (where the fork is) just up on the opposite side of the Beer Acadamy. Went in Sept and was quite chilly on the hill in the evening but once wine started to kick in was nice and warm ! Toilets are very clean which is always a good sign.

Bit out of town along main road with no pavement so not too safe for people with kids, nice and quiet. The main road noise not noticeable but loud church bells in the morning were ! About 5 mins from the edge of town but small supermarket within 2 mins.

Very steep driveway up to appartments from road but lovely view from pool area and appartments accross the sea to the mainland.

Rooms quite small but clean ours had leaky toilet (clean water) but nothing to spoil the holiday, rooms do get hot so we hired a fan for the week. Basic kitchen as expected in greece but good supply of plates, knives etc, fridge was noisy but efficient.

Pool quite small but very clean, lots of sunbeds but rather crowded as space is limited, cheap pool bar with friendy staff.

Owner Noula very friendly - kept on getting us to join in the party nights and BBQ's her husband Spiros is quieter but equally welcoming.

All in all a good stay
