Exotica Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

S S

When we went last year there were other guests who were on their sixth or seventh visit. We stayed there in July 2000 & booked to go back in August this year the day we got back. So did friends we made out there! Small hotel - say 70 rooms - but that's what we want. Breakfast is typically Greek - the kids aren't that keen - this year we're taking our own cereals for them. No evening meals in package but there are plenty of bars/restaurants around which are all reasonable & most cater for kids. V close to airport - you can read the call signs as the planes come into land - but not really a problem as there are no night flights. It's about 10 minute walk (with 4 year old) to the beach. We just hope that this year is as good as last year!

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

We went here last year - recommended to try it by friends. However, with 2 children we found it disappointing as there was nothing for them other than small portions off the main menu. If we were on our own we would have gone back, but not with the kids.

Zakfari Jeep Safari - (Zante Excursions)

Hi Rimmer. We're travelling with Thompson on 17 August (8 weeks, six days & 17 hours but I'm not counting) - is Zakfari suitable for children? We have an 8 & a 4 year old? We're also meeting friends who have a 7 & a 4 year old at the same hotel. If suitable, could you please confirm your contacts so that we can contact you? Many thanks.

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Hubby went with what was 7 year old last year - I didn't go as we also had a what was 3 year old. If weather is bad then no boats will land at the shipwreck - hubby's was the first boat in a week to land. He left @ 7.00 am - arrived back @ 6.00 pm - so very long day for children. he said it was worth doing, but wouldn't do again, & if he hadn't landed @ shipwreck then he thought it would have been disappointing.
