We had a lovely time at the Villa Helena and got back about quarter to seven this evening. There was a very bad earthquake on the evening of October 18th where the building shook violently! Vivi was running around making drinks to calm everyone's nerves. We were up on the top layer near the satellite dish. Several of our friends are still there and has another week.
The only person I didn't like was Maria the cleaning lady. She can't be trusted so she has been working there twelve years. I found out she is Yanni's cousin! George has a friend staying there this week called Andrea. They are fully booked up to October 31st and the season is now closing. Went out last night to the Paradise Taverna just over the road and there were 16 of us. |

Julie and I visited Kalamaki last year (2004) and the sea was rough and the wind was high. We had lunch in Mermaid's taverna. Put pic on later. The date was the 14th October. We had had 4 days of high winds, thunder and lightening and heavy rain. The last trip we went on before the weather changed was the Island tour by coach.

The picture shows Julie and myself on the boat going over to Turtle Island. We booked it from a chap on Laganas beach. During the stop on the island we got to see a baby turtle. |

Only a week to go before we see Vivi, Yannis and George again. Arriving on the 10th October. I hope we have the same type of holiday that we had last year. Here is a picture of the Villa Helena that I took. |

October - (Best time to visit Zante)

parkin, the weather last year in Zante was fantastic in the first week of October. We had hot, sunny days and in the second week the weather changed and hammered down with rain. During our first week we sat by the pool at the Villa Helena and sometimes had to wear a baseball cap because the sun was so strong. Then sit under a parasol. After the four days of rain and high winds my birthday turned out to be sunny all day. This year we are going out in three weeks time on October 10th to the 24th. 
One trip I would recommend is the cruise around the fab coastline of the island. Wonderful. We visited the wonderful Smuggler's Cove.

 Holiday paid for and only two months to go before myself and my sister visit these lovely apartments again. looking forward to seeing Vivi, Yannis & George. Have a better camera this time. The photo shows Julie and myself taken by the pool on the day of departure last October 2004. |

My sister Julie and myself had a lovely first week at this accomodation. Vivi and George and John were lovely to us and Vivi even presented me with a birthday cake on the evening of my birthday. We met various couples who were Pat and Terry, Stephanie and Sion, Andy and Jeanette plus loads more. On October 10th we are returning to see the family again and George's toasties are scrumptious. If you read this, Vivi, we will see you again in October.
In the second week we had four days of rain and thunder and lightening and earth tremors. In the first week we went on an Island tour by coach, went on a cruise by boat on the Alexandros Cruiser and stayed around the swimming pool. From Diane Wilsher |
