Zakfari Jeep Safari - (Zante Excursions)

Steff S  (03 September 2001)

A Brilliant day out! Although we had the oldest jeep with the old type springs, so we weren't as comfortable as those with power steering and coil type springs! But it was good for the cellulite! We had a new driver who apparently couldn't speak a word of english. Well he still kept laughing in the right places (when we were screaming) so I reckon he knew very well what we were saying! But the discomfort was all part and parcel of it. You don't go on a safari expecting to be comfortable! If you read this Dave hope you have recovered! If anyone is thinking of going make sure you wear sturdy shoes (not flip flops) or you will miss out on some of the views. The guide was excellent with his stories of Giants and Penguins and we believed everything of course!!! Thanks to Paul and Adonis for a fantastic day.

Tsilivi Beach - (Beaches in Zante)

Steff S

The beach was busy. The sea was clean and warm and fantastic to swim in. Tsilivi village was reported to be one of the quieter resorts, although we still never got any sleep. The dogs howled all night, the cockerel was in competition with the dogs, the dustmen arrive at four o'clock every morning and the motorbikes screeched up and down practically all night! Although the nearby bars did turn down the music around midnight, which was good of them. We never had a bad meal anywhere, the food was excellent, although at one restaurant we did have very bad service. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive, they never did and then they tried to charge us for them! But all the others we went to expecially the Manos Bar near the kiddies go karts and the Tante Nova near the beach were excellent.

Manos Grill - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Steff S  (03 September 2001)

We arrived in Zante very late on a Sunday evening. We were tired and hungry. By the time we had dropped our things in our apartment it was around midnight. The restaurants were starting to empty as we wandered down the road, we stopped at Manos Grill and were given a table. Although it was late they put themselves out and fed us the most delicious freshly cooked meal. Our thanks to Maria who looked after us. Needless to say we went back several times over the following week!
