Argassi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

The nightlife is reasonable, and there are some very good restaurants. I agree with the comment re Peter's, the guy is a pain to the point of being close to abusive. Recommendations would be the Pheonix (up towards the Admiral Hotel) for a genuine friendly greek welcome. I would also particularly recommend the Picadilli and Carrisimo restaurants.

The beaches aren't much to write home about but there are better beaches within a short distance, plus there are plenty of hotel pools which they allow access to the public.

Argassi has good access to Zakynthos town, which is very close by (1 Euro on the bus, 6 Euro by Taxi)

In all we had a very enjoyable holiday .

Double - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We succumbed to the persistent pestering and had lunch there. To be fair, the home made burger my youngest had was quite nice, but the rest was poor and we had salad! We were also unfortunate enough to witness 4 Italians who spoke neither english or greek be ejected from the restaurant as the waiter lost patience with the Italians asking for things off the menu which it turned out were only available in the evenings. Also tended to be more expensive than many of the competitors

Carissimo - (Restaurants in Argassi)

We had a number of meals here and were always very pleased with the food and with the friendly service. The slight down side was the owner who always struck me as being a little too uptight to be working in a restaurant. To Irini, Eva, Panos, Daniel and Angelo, many thanks for your kind and friendly service.
