Millennium Pool Bar - (Bars in Alykanas)

Chriss & Mal  (07 June 2005)

We've been going to the Millennium for 7 years now and have always enjoyed the food and drinks served by Nigel (Brian was
in England when we were there last July) and Sam who left shortly after our visit for his own hols.  Nikos the previous owner
was a fab fella (didn't get to meet Saffron) and we were really upset when we found out he was selling the bar but Nigel and
Brian took over the first week of our hols in 2003 nd we found them terrific company and Nige has always tried his best even
though he had not done bar work before - he showed vast improvement last year.
We were very upset at leaving Nige last year and the 2 Kirstie's cried all the way to the Airport and are excited at coming back
in July this year - so watch out Nige - we're coming home!!

Mantelena Restaurant - (Restaurants in Alykanas)

Chriss & Mal

Hi, just wanted to pass comment on Simon's message of 25 August and say that yes Mantelena's is possibly the best 'eatery' in Alikanas but newcomers should try other places to eat as well - we've had some brilliant meals at Mantalena's (obviously) but also at La Caretta, Levantes' and the Alkyonis (especially since the new management took over - it was a bit 'dicey' last year.)

The general standard of food in the village is great and in most instances freshly made and we've never had a problem with service or any of our food orders in the 8 years we've been coming to Alikanas - apart from one place which is the Greedy Greek - I don't know whether this is because I tend to go for stifado's and the like whereas my hubby likes calamari but he always had a problem with his food being a bit on the rubbery side!!

I would certainly say to try everywhere and make your own mind up - if you do not enjoy a meal at a particular place just put it down to experience and ENJOY the rest of your stay.
