Macedonia Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Mark W

My girlfriend and I returned from Kalamaki on the 26th Aug after two fantastic weeks in Kalamaki. Not only did the resort have everything we wanted but the accomodation was really good too.

The rooms are quite basic but spacious and they are kept really clean by the friendly maids with regular towel changes.
This is a family run resort with only 30 apartments so it never seems busy round the pool and sunbeds are always available. The family who run the apartments are really friendly the mum and dad speak little English but try very hard to be polite. Tassos and Mikolos are the main barmen who speak good English and are a good laugh.

We could not find any faults with these apartments and the pool is kept very clean as well as the surrounding area. As mentioned in the brochures there is alot of plane noise as you are very close to the airport, but don't let this put you off staying here as you get used to it after a couple of days.

Being a twenty year old couple we found staying in Kalamaki ideal as it has many bars/clubs and restaurants to suit everybody such as Mermaids and the Olive Tree, there was one restaurant called Zakanoh, which was a little on the expensive side costing me and my girlfriend 51 euros for a two course meal, the food was nice, but not that nice!! If you fancied a more lively night out then Laganas is only a 5 minute taxi ride away and is well worth a visit.

Kalamaki beach is a short walk away and it never seems too busy. We thought the sea was amazing especially as it stayed shallow for ages and was very clear and warm.

We also had a quality Cosmos Rep called Daryle who is based at these apartments and he entertained everybody of all ages, and the organised trips are well worth going on.

Overall we had a great holiday and would definately reccommend both Kalamaki and the Macedonia Hotel.
