We stayed at the Roseland from Aug 4th to Aug 17th and we could not fault it. The hotel is spotless and our rooms were cleaned every day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was very nice with plenty of sun loungers to go around. The breakfasts were the best we had experienced on any Greek Island. We stayed in Kalamaki from August 3rd to August 17th and ate at Mermaids on one occasion. Yes the restaurant was busy but does that make the place good?. The menu is extensive but takes forever to read. We waited for 20 mins for our drinks to arrive and a further 45 mins for our meal to arrive. When the meal eventually arrived,they brought our main course first!. We then waited a further 20 mins for our starter. Credit where it's due, the starter was quite nice. When our main course arrived for the second time, we noticed that it was the original main course they had taken away which they had kept warm.! We complained to a waiter (no apology) and waited another 25 mins for a replacement meal. Whilst we were waiting for our meal to arrive, two huge cinema screens came on with a film which had foul language despite families and kids present!
We would certainly not recommend this resaurant as the whole experience was a let down. If you prefer a nice resaurant with nice food and atmosphere, don't go to Mermaids as there are plenty of others in the resort. If however you prefer waiting a long time for overpriced food "a la McDonalds" then this is the place for you! Bon Appetite.....NOT!!
