Apollon - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

J P

Just arrived back and ate here 5 times out of out 2 weeks stay. Staff very friendly and the food was always good. Most people in our apartments came here, and 10 of us ate here on our last night. Would certainly recommend this more traditional taverna (most of the staff are Albanian!!)

Olive Tree - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

J P

This was our favourite place to eat. As traditional as we found (too many others cater for what they think 'The Brits' want)
Ask the staff what they recommend and you will not be disappointed. The service is excellent and you are never rushed. AND there is Greek music in the background (unlike many others)

St Nickolas Beach Diving School - (Diving in Zante)

J P

After almost cancelling this trip due to the fact I thought I 'couldn't do it' following a test dive in the pool at the apartments, I am so glad I didn't! This made my holiday. You are very well monitored, although you will not realise this until you see the video afterwards. I thought the photos could have at least been put into a card frame or something to keep them flat. My 9 year old daughter had a 'junior dive' which I booked direct and had a 1-on-1 with an instructor. Top marks.

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

J P

We visited this as part of a round the Island trip. Booked through the rep (a lot cheaper for the same boat/trip if you book direct).
Take some sturdy pool shoes as your feet will get ripped apart on the beach. The boat was far too crowded for any enjoyment.
If anything, worth a quick stop to swim in the beautiful turquoise waters which I have never seen before. If it wasn't for the fact it is impossible, I would have said that dye had been put in the sea 'for the tourists'. The 'shipwreck' (and I say that tongue in cheek) is a hazard for younger children. Be careful.

Cosmopolitan Studios - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

J P

These apartments are in need of an overhaul. The people staying in the main block on the ground floor said it was damp (especially the corner one). We were in 'the block at the rear' and it was much quieter. Those in the main block were constantly woken-one night with 'outsiders' stealing their towels to go skinny dipping.
One couple arrived after we had been there a week and the previous occupants were blamed for grotty cups! Take your anti-bacterial liquid/wipes etc!
The pool was nice and deep (for us taller people)and Stavros from the Paradise was a gem.

Zakynthos Airport - (Places to Visit in Zante)

J P

This would stop us going to Zante again. It is far too small for even 2 flights. You can wait 2 hours to collect your bags when you arrive, and when you are leaving it is a case of queue in the sun, check in slow, go back outside and wait to see how long you are delayed.
We heard that this is the only island who do not put anything back in to it. Pity. It would not take too much for the visitors to feel appreciated instead of being herded like cattle.
