Nikos Studios - (Accommodation in Alykes)

Dave M

We have stayed at the Nikos (also known as the Nikos and Pedros) apartments for the last 4 year, always in the first two weeks of May; the beginning of the season. Nikos, the owner is the sort of guy that will do anything to make your holiday a good one. We have spent many a night sitting 'round the outside 'pool bar' (yes, even in May) until the wee small hours. The location of the appartments is well out of the way (about a 20 minute leisurly stroll from the town centre) and so is quiet at night (apart from the noise from the bar, which although sometimes rousing, is always good humoured). The appartments have their own swimming pool and plently of sunbeds. The pool is surrounded by the main Nikos building (incorporating the bar) which has around 28 rooms. There is a second 3 story building, 'Nikos B', some 200 yards away that houses 36 more 'family rooms'. Whenever we stay in Alikes we always stay with Nikos, it wouldn't be the same to us if we didn't. Nikos has always made us welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend these appartments to anyone who is not afraid of a little walking and doesn't want to be in the middle of the town. Nikos had changed his tour operator for 2001 to 'Direct Holidays'(from 'Thompson' previosly). However 'Direct Holidays' have dropped the accomodation and now he is with 'Olympic Holidays'.

Attn : Charlotte Tate The nearest bar is about 5 minutes away (Apollo Bar) but the main town centre / shops are about 15 mins walk away. No hills, all on the flat. We came back yesterday and loved it for the 4th year ! Attn : KENT MOB !! Hi guys and gals, we missed you this year, but Nikos tells me that you are going later in the year. Have a fab time and might see you all in first 2 weeks of May 2002 !! Dave & Lisa Millbank

Taj Mahal - (Restaurants in Alykes)

Agree about the Naan breads - HUGE ! Yes, food is good, but a little expensive for the fairly small portion size we thought. Dave & Lisa Millbank Email : DMillbank@sasibbev.co.uk

Beelzebubs - (Restaurants in Alykes)

Dave M  (06 June 2001)

Not that we ever went to Beelzebubs, but out of interest, the English people who ran it in 2000 are not there now, they run their own place called 'The Pie Shack', which can be found if you go across the crossroads toward Alykanes, then after about 150/200 yards take the bridge off to the left over the stream then turn right and it's on the left after about 500 yards. Excellent Balti curry - certainly rivals the Taj Mahal and only 2500 drs ! Also they've taken their 'Bangers-and-Mash' with them !

The Great Dane - (Restaurants in Argassi)

This restaurant is run by the English people who ran Beelzebubs in 2000. It can be found if you go across the crossroads toward Alykanas, then after about 150/200 yards take the bridge off to the left over the stream then turn right and it's on the left after about 500 yards. Excellent Balti curry - certainly rivals the Taj Mahal and only 2500 drs ! Also excellent 'Bangers-and-Mash' and a variety of homemade pies. A real taste of England, fantastic if you're missing home !

Sorry BREKKIE EATER if I upset you ! But that is what we were told when we were there in May

Oh do grow up BREKKIE EATER, I have no interest in The Pie Shack at all, We've holidayed in Alikes for the last 4 years, I can only report what I've been told - maybe the people here used to WORK in rather than OWN Beelzebubs (I don't know we never ate there) but there is definately SOME association. Maybe you can set the record straight after the next time you've visited ?? I've never known someone get so upset over nothing !!! Get of you high horse, I was only trying to be helpful.
