| My boyfriend and I just got back from Tsilivi on Sunday (18th July) and we totally loved the place! It's just right for a relaxing holiday with nice bars, lovely restaurants (especially if you want a proper Greek dish) and friendly people. The fact that the weather was amazing helped as well! It was brilliant and I wish we had booked for two weeks instead of one! The Roula Studios were exactly what you expect of self-catering accommodation in Greece, basic but OK for a week or two. After all, they were just a place to sleep, get washed and changed and maybe to enjoy a nice drink on the balcony before heading out for the evening! They were clean and well located and the lady who looked after them was polite although her English wasn't great so don't try and have a conversation with her! The only thing I would say that was wrong was the towels were very small (I took a couple of my own) and the storage space was limited (I bought some coat hangers for less than a quid in the supermarket). Don't expect to be cooking any gourmet meals in your room, but with the huge choice of lovely restaurants at cheap prices, you don't need to. The lady came in a cleaned the room and emptied the bins everyday (apart from one I think) and the sheets and towels were changed once a week. The other bad thing (NOT with the apartments) was the Golden Sun reps who were s**t. I wouldn't bother with the welcome meeting as all they try to do is sell you their over priced tours, rip you off for car hire and don't explain anything about the resort, the island, shop times, taxi prices etc. Make your own way round, buy a guidebook for further a field exploring and shop around for car hire. On arrival the Greek owner asks if you want the room safe and room fan for a total of just under £30, which I think, is OK since you will probably have the fan on for most of the time with the heat! The studios are up a small hill, but nothing tiring and anyway, the fact you are on a bit of a hill means you are away from any noise (apart from a couple of occasional barking dogs!) and have a nice view. The Yanna Pool is next door and is again nice, quiet and friendly with a bar that serves food, drinks (nice cooked breky!) and has books and games. The beach is about 10 - 15 minutes walk through the town and the restaurants and bars start to appear about 2 minutes along the road. Zante town was a 10-minute taxi ride away and only cost around 8 Euros. DON'T go on a Wednesday afternoon though as the shops shut half day!! There a few nice restaurants in the square that are worth checking out but getting a taxi back to the resort after 11pm was a bit of a mare and took ages, as there was a massive queue. Overall Tsilvi was a brilliant place for nice, relaxing and chilled holiday with lovely food cheap food and drinks, a nice long beach and plenty of pools to choose from. As the person below me has said, the Roula Apartments were exactly what you expect from a the cheaper end of self catering in Greece and those who have moaned about it further down on this site should remember that next time they decide to go to Greece!! It was fab, wonderful and one of the best holidays I've had for a while - can't wait to go back! | ||||||||||

| Just got back from The Roula Studios. Absolutely great location. Room was basic but typically greek. Towels were a bit small but we took beach towels with us anyway. Tsilivi is lovely. Can't wait to go back. Those who have moaned about standards should remember this is self catering Greece. We loved it. | ||||||||||

| My 11th year in Tsilivi this must have been the worst studio I have had. Towels the size of face towels, dirty rooms, not cleaned all week, beds not changed all week, bins only changed twice in a week, had to purchase toilet paper.I wouldn't recommend the Roula to my worst enemy. | ||||||||||

| We stayed at the Roula for 1 week. When we arrived there was a fan in our room, which we didn't want. Never saw the owner to tell her this. On our last but one day we had a bill for 1 week rental. Spoke to the rep and said it was a cheek that they leave the fan's in the room and then expect you to pay for them. Our neighbours told her they didn't want the fan and she got nasty. Our towels were smaller than a hand towel and were not changed all week. Excellent location though. Had a breakfast in George and Mary's and it certainly isn't the best breakfast on the island. This can be found in Faulty Towers towards the beach. | ||||||||||

| After staying at Roula Studios for a week, I have been put off Tsilivi for life. When I booked my holiday, I was told I could use the pool facilities at Yanna Studios next door. The staff at Yanna are extremely rude and far too money-orientated. I didn't even get a chance to sit at the pool before I was ordered to buy something - and apparently buying one drink is not enough. The staff stare at you and follow you around everywhere, so I did not get a chance to explore different views from Yanna. My room did not get cleaned all week, and the cleaner of Roula was extremely rude - walking in to the room when me and my roommate were getting dressed! And my roommate had make-up stolen from her bag, which could only have been the cleaner. In fact, Roula studios was that bad that 'Golden Sun' who I booked my holiday with, have decided to drop their contract. And I wouldn't bother eating at 'George and Mary's Cafe' across the road either because after eating the 'best breakfast in Tsilivi', I had to endure food poisoning for 4 out of 7 days of my holiday. And what did Mary have to say about that? She laughed in my face. Not a very pleasant experience at all. | ||||||||||

| Despite the lovely location of these studios the attitude of the owner to us and some of the other guests was not very friendly. Also the place looked as if it hadnt been properly cleaned since last season - we were there last 2 weeks in June 2003. Also I hate to say this but there were rats spotted rather close too the ground floor apartments. However the attitude of George and Yanna at Yanna Studios where we could use the pool was in complete contrast. They were truly the typical Greek hosts and could not do enough for you. If you do visit this resort check out the Acropolis Restaurant - EXCEPTIONAL | ||||||||||

| Great base of opperations, found it clean, quite (apart from the cockrels at 5-6pm which crow in what I found an hilarious sequence) and a great view plus the walk up the hill isn`t so bad u get use to it after a couple of days. Word of advice though the pool cannot be used when the pool bar is shut. As i got told with a "NO! GET OUT!" at 3am when I was really drunk and being an idiot! | ||||||||||

| Roula was really cheap and great value for money, the woman who runs it is really friendly and even did our washing up for us a few days! Its really handy for Tsilivi town and the pool is just perfect. Go there! | ||||||||||

| The apartment was fine - lovely view from the balcony, although the kitchen/bathroom was very basic. | ||||||||||

| I stayed at the Roula Studios in July this year and I thought it was great! Yes, there is a nosiy cockeral that does start early, usually just as you get into bed at about 2am, but the view from our balcony was great, you could see the sea, and over the whole town, we were only a few minutes away from the many many cocktail bars in the town. Not too far from the beach either, and the pool was really close. For the money we paid, it couldn't really have been better. The lady who owns the studios is really friendly and cleans the studio daily. Also, the kitchen is very very basic, but we stayed for 14 nights and although eating out is so much cheaper than anywhere in the UK, we did cook our own meal 3 nights. | ||||||||||
